What can I say about this place, it was the cutest diner I have been to and the food is pretty good. Sometimes it's a hit or miss with diners these days. A must-stop in! I had their roasted turkey & husband tried their fish. Apple pie is a MUST. A homemade pie that tastes good. Will return someday when we come back through the area!

My girlfriend and I were staying at the hotel behind the restaurant and were looking for somewhere close to eat since we just drove 3+ hours with several stretches of standstill traffic. I’ve been to another location before but she hadn’t but after looking at their menu online, she wanted to give them a try. We tried their fried pickle and they were fried perfectly golden brown and the dipping sauce was tangy with just a hint of spice. We were also given a basket of biscuits which were hot and flaky. She ordered their BLT and there was more bacon than we expected which was a pleasant surprise. She said the lettuce and tomato were fresh and the bread was toasted perfectly. I wanted to try their 5 way chili over spaghetti and I’m glad I did. The chili was very thick and rich and seasoned well. They offer this dish as an appetizer or as a meal with a side of soup or salad, but I asked out server if the portions were the same and she said yes, so I just ordered the appetizer. There was a very good amount of noodles and chili for an appetizer. The chili was blended all through the noodles and not just on top and the sauce, meat, and beans stuck to the noodles. This was the perfect comfort food after a long day of driving.

I had an amazing brunch at Mel’s Diner. The service was impressive, and their wide variety of dishes and drinks, to provide a great all around dining experience. The Crème Brûlée French toast was incredible! Pulled pork quesadillas were also fantastic. I will definitely come back once I’m back in Bonita Beach.

Fun place to go, nostalgic 50's diner look and feel, good food and great prices! Went there for breakfast, very enjoyable. Looking forward to going back and trying their 10 oz burger!

Got there right at opening. Very cool decor and good service. I had the corned beef hash with two eggs. The hash was served with a little grill crust. Very nice. My wife had two eggs and bacon. We both got biscuits which were great. The entrees were very good but pretty standard. It's a good place for breakfast.

I was pleasantly surprised when visiting this restaurant. I had visited a few years prior and was not impressed with the food or decor. It seems that they've done some remodeling and have upped their food game. We came here for breakfast and it is now our favorite breakfast spot. I ordered the french toast and it was delicious. My oldest daughter ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and really enjoyed them. I would definitely recommend that everyone try the sausage, it looked more like ground beef but has a good flavor. I'd also like to add that our waitress, Stacy, was really attentive and pleasant. She communicated clearly and checked in with us to refill our drinks several times. I can't wait until we return to try more meals.

A diner with daily specials and nostalgic decor. Average is the best review that I can give. My other reviews here for other diners are much better to visit. I think the pictures share the average visual appeal and this review of taste is average at best. The service was equally average. Perhaps I am spoiled by better diner experiences in the area and I think I will stick to visiting those when wanting a good diner meal and experience. 😕

Great food very friendly customer service. Our waitress was amazing 👍👍👍. She was attentive and polite. The chicken soup was really good and yummy, it had a lot of pieces of chicken in the chicken noodle soup... I would recommend you come here and getting great service and food!!!!

Waitress was very friendly and sweet but the food was all straight out of cans or frozen. The burger's bun was soaked in the frozen's patty fat/juice, and the sirloin steak entree was just a patty covered in onion and mushrooms.Very dissapointing. The scenery is nice though. The clam chowder was very good though.

July 2023 I want to update my review..the last few times I've eat here which includes yesterday..was such a change from last year.. the meal yesterday which our server Lisa was awesome, delicious, fast service, hot and tasty food and it's definitely worth the time to go online and be on the dine & earn list, this includes perks for birthdays, $10 off every 100 spent and email newsletter monthly with the special's..I think what was the nicest change was out server Lisa, she had a great welcoming personality, fast service, and it's such a change from a year ago with the service, I wanted to do a updated review after my last times dining and taking out.. I'm sure that everything won't and isn't the best but I've discovered my favorites and there always delicious.. being off season is the best and easiest time to enjoy Mel's..( as I did go a couple times in season and it's not the best time, crowded, inpatient & slower service,) but off season is fantastic and highly recommend you checking them out .. thank you for a affordable and delicious meal with great service.*** July 2022 The all you can eat fish should be passed..it tasted frozen and was overcooked... The fries were hot and tasty..the turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes/gravy was like grandma's at Thanksgiving.. great.. but the star was surprisingly to me..the shrimp corn chowder..thick hot and tasted awesome and no there wasn't loads of shrimp.. but the flavor was there and I loved it.. dessert was the mini creme brulee..just enough after dinner to not be to much..the custard was good but the sugar topping was mostly burnt and almost took out a tooth. So if burnt looking ' word of advise chew softly''... the waitress Mrs.Greta was nice but really busy..and we didn't receive the best service... Not for lack of experience I'm certain but because she was overloaded with to many customers to give us the customer service we should of had ... The cocktail sauce was forgotten though requested several times, and when brought out it was a few minutes before being done dining...the requested water was completely forgotten, cocktails came out slowly and had to request several times to even the hostess to get the Bloody Mary( which by the way was delicious) and finally upon requesting more fish ( from the all you can eat fish dinner order) They brought out on a sauser 1 small overcooked piece of fish and put it on my companions plate.. I guess living on the Outer Banks of NC my entire life I'm used to fresh fish or if frozen still taste good. I definitely recommend you not order the all you can eat fish' yes it's affordable but do you want it to taste good as well .this was also had a very fishy taste..not in a good way' perhaps that was why it was overcooked and upon cooling so hard it wasn't edible..but it's ok this is how you discover what's good and not' trial and error' ..the atmosphere though the servers are in a frenzy.. is still a cool & eclectic place to chill relax and if not in a hurry ..you'll enjoy ...they were playing all my favorite 50s tunes.. the restaurant was not to busy but again it was still to busy for our server..but everyone is entitled to have there "off night"... She was still friendly and that goes a long way.. I will say after reading all the 4 & 5 star ratings...I was a bit disappointed..but it does seem more a place for those a bit older and families..I do think that breakfast would be a better time to go and eat.. and I look forward to updating my review after doing that...this restaurant was fun for sure for those with kids.... And the rootbeer floats and shakes going by looked yummy.. prices again are definitely affordable and I think it's just a matter of getting what's made the best and this is why I like to check out the reviews to help me know just that. Look forward to updating after breakfast for I've heard it's the best time to go...

Went twice over this past weekend. I will definitely be going back again. Good food, large selection and friendly waitresses. I had a Corned beef sandwich and it was huge...bigger and better than the Delis near me that specialize in Corned beef and Pastrami. Went back for breakfast and it was good as well. The prices aren't bad either. Hope they don't read this and raise them...lol.

Clean restaurant. Tasty food reasonably priced. The serving portions are generous. The salad that comes with dinner isn't just pulled out of a spring mix bag. It's a true salad! Service was prompt and courteous. 50's oldies play while you eat. The biscuits are home made, warm and delicious.

Great food, lots of menu choices affordable, fast service, friendly staff. We will go back! And crazy, they offered a Hot Brown! I thought we only had those in Kentucky!

We visit here at least once or twice a month. We always get the roast turkey dinner. My kind of comfort food.

WE came here for dinner with a party of 7 of family members. Great food for a good price! Service was basically non existent. Bar order was never even placed by server when I asked the bartender. Simply asked what salad dressings they had and server said we have everything and then ordered and she was out of 2 of them. Told my husband she didn't know what drafts they had and never came back to tell us. So I went to the bar myself after about 15 minutes and just got it from bartender. Server was very rude when we had any questions at all. Have been here several times in the past and never had service like this. May not return to this location again. Made for a very bad experience with especially with family in town visiting.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mel's Diner as we were traveling through Bonita Springs on our way to Key West. We were on a large coach with 44 people on board. From the outside you could tell it was unique but didn't look very large. I thought our group would fill the whole place. Surprise! Surprise!! That diner is huge! And the menu is at least 8 pages!! They have such a large variety of foods I thought there was no way we would get our food in a timely fashion or that it would be very tasty! Well let me tell you....their staff is amazing!! They all bust their buns taking your orders, answering questions about their food and getting your food out much faster than most restaurants!!! And the food was DELICIOUS!!! I can tell you that night there were 44 very satisfied customers who left Mel's happy, full and looking for a Mel's Diner closer to our home in Mobile Alabama. Shout out to Coco for a fantastic job keeping everything flowing so smoothly!

Mel's Diner is a perfect spot to grab breakfast in the Bonita Springs area! The atmosphere has an old diner feel like you're back in time. I believe our server's name was Jeremiah and he was fantastic!!! Food was absolutely delicious and came in large portions. Showed up on a Saturday around 8:30am and had to wait 15 minutes. Nothing negative to say about Mel's. Keep up the great work.
