We stayed between the 5 of Sep. to of 10 Sep 2023 – 5 adults. 3 double rooms. The positive: The hotel has a good location, walking distance to the train station and the centre. Stop for public transport, bus and tram, within a few hundred metres. Very friendly staff in the hotel. I think all employees are foreigners. The negative: On arrival we were allocated rooms on both the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. The lift was not working, and had not been working for a few days before our arrival. During the entire stay, the lift did not work! All guests had to carry their suitcases up and down the stairs. The elderly guests had problems going up and down the stairs every day. My 77-year-old mother-in-law was assigned a room on the 1st floor, where the bed was located on a loft. She could neither get up nor down the ladder that led up to the bed. Totally useless for a elderly person. We had to exchange our room with her, so she got a normal room on the 2nd floor instead. The first days were spent in airing out the room, as the previous guests had smoked a lot in the room, and everything smelled like an old, full ashtray. Due to the smell, we had difficulty staying in the room and sleeping at night. Up under the ceiling, where the double bed was located, it was unbearably hot all nights, and we had to have a fan running constantly, even though it made noise when we had to sleep. The cleaning of the rooms was very poor. Lots of cobwebs under the ceiling and very disgusting and dirty carpets in all the rooms and in the corridors. The carpets should have been replaced many years ago. Several lamps and electrical outlets did not work. Our television did not work during the entire stay. We complained several times - but nothing happened. In return, the staff brought a plate of various chocolates, fruit and peanuts as a bit of compensation for the broken television. The bathtubs were raised to a height of 65 centimeters for some reason. Almost impossible to get in and out, especially for elderly or short people. A normal bathtub has a height of approx. 45 cm. The breakfast was ok, everything you need. But during the entire stay we were served butter whose expiry date ended 1 month ago, on 09/08/2023. The staff were kind enough to help us order a taxi to the airport. Was told a price of 55 euros. But at the end we were charged 65 euros when we arrived at the airport by taxi. Google will obviously not bring the post with the photos I have taken as proof of the above - I'm sorry !

Very nice hotel as part of the Best Western franchise near the center in Bonn. The building itself is very complex built and gives this additional authentic look of the hotel. The rooms are nice and the interesting part is that the bathroom door looks like a wardrobe door. The breakfast is very nice and many options are offered (caprese salad, different types of cheese...). The staff is very friendly and cooperative.

This hotel is very noisy. The tram, the two restaurants below, it’s noisy until late in the evening. And because people smoke outside of the restaurants there is a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room. Breakfast was equally loud with the lady throwing dishes and cutlery around. Not to mention no clean tables available and shelves already empty at 08:15. The coffee served was a leftover can from another table. This hotel is understaffed and not well managed. Being loud is one thing, bad breakfast and understaffed is unacceptable. I cannot recommend staying in this hotel.

Hotel is good. The rooms are on the small side and the ones on street side can get quite loud as there are trams, and buses passing quite often. Location is great, only a couple blocks away from the old town.

As a carpenter and interior design enthusiast, I think Hotel Domicil is a boutique marvel, well maintained although having established decades ago, carefully-selected furnishings, from light fixtures to faucets, everything is consistently themed. Facilities features a breakfast area, spacious glass terraces, vintage elevator, and also a piano lounge. Rooms can be a little small, but they did a wonderful job to make it less claustrophobic playing with the colors and positioning of mirrors. Really enjoyed the welcome drinks and snacks, the free bike rental was additionally fun, all hotels should provide this service. Overall a great value, location was easy to find, staff were warm and inviting.

I liked it very much. Everything at a very high level. The loveliest ever staff. The location is the best you can imagine. If you decide to come to Bonn, I definitely recommend this hotel, because you can have a very good time very cheaply and meet very kind staff members.

Perfect, quiet, clean and friendly environment. in the center of town. Shopping centers, restaurants, metro stations are very close. The people who work are amazing. They help you in everything. They see you as a friend. The staff working in the hotel is like one big family, if you stay in this hotel, you also become a part of a big family.

Myself and my wife stayed at this quirky little hotel on a recent visit to see our daughter. The location is excellent very close to the centre of Bonn, trams and buses go past it and it is only 5 mins walk from Bonn Hauptbanhof. The amenities are fairly basic and the (always friendly and helpful)staff say they are renovating the hotel but hopefully it will still retain it's character as a lot of thought has obviously gone in to the interior design. Our double room was clean and comfortable, had good storage and a fridge too. We didn't have breakfast (which I felt was maybe a little pricey) but other than that the hotel was very good value. Bonn itself obviously isn't a Berlin or a Munich but is a likeable little City with a lot of character and if I were to visit again I would happily stay at The Domicil

Regrettably, my recent stay at the hotel fell far below expectations. Despite reaching out privately to the hotel with my concerns, I have received no response, prompting me to share my experience here. The room assigned to me was situated in an isolated and neglected separate building, behind the main hotel. The space was marred by yellowed, stained carpets, scattered tools, and discarded mattresses on the stairs. Yet I still paid full price and was not made aware of any renovations upon booking. Inside the room, the conditions were equally disappointing - dirty carpets, a kitchen area covered in stains, a collapsed camp bed, and an overall state of disrepair that necessitates a thorough cleaning and updates. Security was a concern too, with no lock at all on the back door and recurring issues with the front door lock. As a solo female traveler, being the only occupant in this separate, disused building was unsettling, especially when a staff member left their private contact number on my door and unexpectedly visited my room late at night offering to share a bottle of wine. The same staff member, who was the only person at the front desk, had previously tried to text me by taking my mobile number from the hotel system, before realising it actually belonged to a colleague who had booked the room for me. He then asked for my number to which I politely mentioned I was in a relationship. But despite all this he still then left his number under my door whilst I was out and then came to my room at around 10pm to offer the wine, whilst I was in bed. While I'm reluctant to create any trouble, I believe it's crucial for the staff to understand that these circumstances are far from professional and can be deeply unsettling for solo travelers. It's essential to address these concerns to ensure a safer and more welcoming environment for all guests. My colleague who booked the hotel has sent two emails in regards to this situation and I was hoping we would have had a response by now, but these have been ignored.

I was there some time ago and liked the nice room with lots of woodwork. The hotel is very near the centre with the Beethoven house When I was there I used the sauna in the basement which was nice The breakfast buffet was good

Avoid this hotel. Both me and my colleagues had the same bad experience with the shower where the water will suddenly change to scolding hot (there’s no thermostat - it’s just bath taps) - I was burned. The desk staff said “It wasn’t his problem” when a colleague and I approached him. There’s no air conditioning - instead I had a noisy rattling desk fan. At breakfast, there was no milk and I had to sit and wait for 10 minutes for some to be fetched. The breakfast is very poor quality. The only redeeming feature of the hotel is that it is quite close to the railway station (5 minutes walk) so you can leave quickly.

Location, room, service and overall experience were exceptional. My kids were treated with the utmost care - we even had a basket full of German gummies and chocolates waiting for us in the room. Highly recommend!

Nice, quiet hotel, decent breakfast and close to the very centre. Only problem is parking and the way to reach the hotel by car. Would I go again ? Probably yes.

Old world charm with great windows. The shower is not great, it is handheld so you cannot take a standing shower. Breakfast was good.

This is the BEST hotel I have ever stayed at! All of the staff are friendly, the room is large, the house keeping is amazing, everything is perfect.

Ultra small room is a biggest disadvantage of this place. No air-conditioning in my room was also not helping. However receptionists were very professional and helpful.
