My family and I had Christmas Day lunch at The Club Hotel this year (2022). From the pre-preparations to the actual day, we couldn't fault the service or the 4 course meal. As someone who suffers with food allergies, I'm often limited with what I can eat. However, the Manager Aaron went out of his way to ensure I was able to have something in each course. A week before the event, he went through the menu with me to discuss options and alternatives. On the day, I was not disappointed, the food was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it. The staff were fantastic and we all had a wonderful day. We are hoping to do it again next Christmas. Thank you Aaron and to the staff at The Club Hotel for making our day so special.

First time eating there. Very typical menu of pub grub, but very tasty and well done with really nice flavours. Got quite busy, as Saturday night, so best to book. Easy online ordering via QR code (allows for tipping but adds a small surcharge) or at the counter. Friendly service and a nice vibe and setting. Definitely worth going.

Dropped into the Club Hotel with my husband and mother today for lunch. The food was lovely, but what will be getting us back is the AMAZING service by Sam the lovely waitress/hopefully she is the bistro Manager. She was not only attentive to us but all the customers, by checking if we were happy with meals and service. Thank you Sam for the service that was beautiful, and made my Mother have a beautiful day.

The Club Hotel at the corner of Burwood Highway and Ferntree Gully Road (right opposite Mountain Gate shopping centre) is one of the better local establishments offering typical pub meals. I usually eat well here, having been pleased with their steaks from the "Graziers" menu, and the Salt and Pepper Calamari. But I have also been disappointed: this last time ordering the Fish and Chips let me down as it tasted as if it was frozen food microwaved. The service is always quick and the staff rather friendly. Worth a stop for a stop for a meal.

Although we've lived in the area many years, we'd never visited there before. Very nice venue, pleasant, fast service, food was ordinary pub fair, chips were hit and miss, some were dry some were perfect. I had fish and chips, fish was good. Hubby had the Southern Fried Chicken burger, he said it was a plain crumbed chicken patty, nothing Southern about it, no Southern type spices, no heat at all, not what he was expecting or wanting. But, we really liked the ambience and the service, their prices were reasonable, and we'll be back to try their other food!

Used to be nice in 2023. Parmas have halved in sized. Seems to be a new chef. Twice now chicken well over cooked. Staff seem like they don't want to be there. Staff member rolled her eyes when we rang bell after waiting for a few minutes. Junkies in gaming room. Been there over 20 times last year will not be returning. What a shame Waa my favourite in the area.

The food was absolutely perfect, 10/10! The new head chef has done an amazing job! The floor staff also doing a great job! :) we will back again soon for lunch

Lovely atmosphere. There is a dark haired manager (can't remember her name) who always gives our dog treats each time he comes down. He loves going as he knows he will be fed. Staff are all lovely and love a chat.

Wow, our meals were beautiful , the servings very generous and priced well. I've eaten here in the past and the meals have been ok but today, Sunday they were delicious ! The bistro area has been revamped. Very happy with today's visit

Went to lunch today (3/2/17) We live close by and used to come regularly, today was the first time in a while and off the bat I noticed the menu has changed, quite frankly the menu is basic and I was disappointed when there was only one pasta dish on the menu. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and asked without anchovies annnd it didn't have any chicken in it... I would've asked for the chicken to be put in it but I was in a hurry, but overall it was a yummy salad. My mum ordered the seafood basket for $15 and it was basically non edible, the calamari was tough and she couldn't eat it, and the fish had bones in it! My mum ate what she could but wasn't impressed at all. We told the waiter our complaints and she refunded $15 for the seafood basket. Wouldn't go back Would look for alternate restaurant next time

Went to the bistro tonight for dinner at the club. I have only ever been to the sports bar. Service was as good as anywhere I’ve been for a long time. Whoever the gentleman manager was i would like to thank for his excellent service. The food was really good as well. Honestly for a pub bistro where you know you’re not at at the fanciest place if I could give it 6 stars I would.

The food was so good, I enjoyed it so much . The staff were so friendly they made so much effort, hats off to you, very impressed with the whole night, I will be back for sure :)

I have been to this restaurant twice. The environment is nice and customer service is amazing. Its menu is similar to most of the bistro, yet the chef recommendations on a separate list offer excellent options. The food is primarily superb . The price is still reasonable despite rising inflation.

The reason for the stars is I turned up at 10:45pm to find it closed. Doors locked. Staff are here I can hear them laughing but no sign is up as to why it’s not open. Had a staff member come out to open the door her response to me was blunt and condescending to say the least. She pointed to the ambulance which I didn’t see parked down past the bottle shop as if I should of realised what was going on. Then told me a staff member will be coming out on a tray with a you can leave now sigh. I can see that it would be a stressful situation but that doesn’t excuse the attitude and I have no idea if it will be open again tonight. It’s probably a good thing in it’s not a venue I’ve had any luck in. Oh the partner of the staff member was here too he was extremely nice needed to go back in to get a bag left in there. He tried the door was walking off when I (still here writing this on the seat out front)suggested knocking.she walked back in the gaming room. He got the bag I felt the glare given. Like daggers. Well it was still Halloween the ghouls are definitely out tonight in the gully…

So sad that my meal was extremely disappointing, I’m not sure if the kitchen has lost the passion for the job or management are putting too many constraints on the team but what was served up wouldn’t be presented in my own home. The front of house team were very friendly and helpful but this did not counteract my meal .

These people think they have the right to tell you what you can wear, my body was covered fully puffer jacket and pants and t shirt cause my pants were sitting low this employee has the audacity to tell me it’s not really appropriate for this place?? Mind you it’s 12am like ?? it just made me feel me feel so uncomfortable, I left straight after. it’s not a high end pokies. There was no reason for that unless she was unloading her own insecurities on me, which so unprofessional and nasty. Just so rude.

Always a great night out at The Club Hotel. Great food, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. A big shout out to Jack, our host/waiter/barman/general good bloke, for his friendliness and hospitality!

We went during COVID, so I guess we were grateful that they were open whereas other ALH pubs have closed their bistros for the time being. But they said nothing about reduced menu. I had a Parma... and it was a bit overcooked. Browner than golden and dry and hard. My wife had the steak sandwich and it was undercooked to the point of just maybe heating the bacon through? Then came dessert... and my darling wife, who insists on the existence of a "dessert stomach" couldn't finish the brick worth of lukewarm chocolate brownie. All in all.. we won't hurry back.

An excellent mid week meal in the sports bar. Ben is fantastic behind the bar and always great to have a chat to and a game of pool! Our family favourite!

Very disappointed with the club hotel as the meals are not as God as thy Youse to be .So I won't be going there any more

Every time we come here for dinner (at least twice a year for almost 10 years) it gets worse.. and worse.. and worse. The meals are barely warm, the staff get more hopeless each time and the menu gets shorter each time. Really had enough now, time to find another pub to dine at.

Took our elderly mum here to celebrate her birthday [13/05/21] and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We requested the opening of the handicapped door (so no steps to negotiate) of which they graciously assisted mums entry & exit, they also offered to take a group pic for us AND included a candle on mums dessert. They were all so friendly, efficient and kind, can't praise them enough. The calamari meal was cooked to perfection, tender & flavoursome. Mums senior lamb roast was devoured with pleasure by the birthday guest! And the chicken schnitzel & huge steak sandwich was enjoyed also. We'll definitely be back, and not just for the next birthday! :)

We had a lovely Mother’s Day lunch which was made very special by excellent service provided by the Club Hotel staff. Great no fuss pub food, the kids loved the playground and we’ll definitely be back soon for a meal. Highly recommended.

The staff were very friendly and ready to assist. Seniors meals $9odd were great, ample servings. Deducted 1 star for no salad dressing on the salad. My wife and granddaughter had it on theirs. Overall, would definitely dine there again.

Used to come here all the time with my family as a kid. This is my first time back here in several years and whilst the food was just as delicious as I remembered, the service was nothing short of woeful. We waited nearly 2 hours for our food and it wasn’t busy at all! When we finally managed to get the attention of a staff member we were told our order mustn’t have gone through…however if that was the case it seems a bit odd that one of our drinks came to the table within minutes of ordering?!?! Staff were disinterested and couldn’t care less. Not once did a staff member check to see if we needed anything. A truly disappointing experience overall and we will not be returning.

I'm giving 3 stars because the service was really great - however, totally disappointed in the food. The pork belly was dry, the bun on the kids cheeseburger was stale, the kids nuggets were hollow - you bit into them and there was nothing inside except crumb. I ordered a Thai Noodle Salad which I was informed wasn't available so I switched out for the Cesear Salad which was drowned in dressing and parmesan. Also, they advertised $7 pints all day every day but when you go in, there is only 1 type of beer that is on offer for $7 a pint. Bit sneaky. I hate giving negative reviews but I also hate spending my hard earned on mediocre.

I think it's fairly reasonable pub food and good service from the team. However I feel the menu choices are quite limited - if I'm comparing it to other pubs in the burbs that are 15-20 min away which have a lot more options other than usual parma/burger/steak or a nicer venue I hope this comes as constructive criticism and the rating is in comparison to other pubs

Went to the club hotel with the old man tonight. We both had the eye fillet with chips and vegetables. He had garlic butter, I had mushroom gravy. He had prawn steak toppers and I have grilled chicken toppers. We also had the nachos for entrée. Wasn't a lot of people there. Though it was a fairly cold night and I'm assuming people are still being careful around covid. Dad had cappuccino and I had the hot chocolate. No complaints, was a good evening. Disappointed I forgot to take photos for my review, will make sure I do for next time as there will definitely be a next time.

One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while for a decent price. Cooked perfectly and the vegetables on the side were fresh and not over cooked too. I was surprisingly impressed so much that I had to speak to the chef and tell him how much I enjoyed my meal. Chef Sam was friendly and appreciated the feedback greatly. Well done Chef Sam 😁
