A decent menu with a diverse range. Extensive drinks list, but wines can be really expensive ($16 for a large glass of Pepperjack). The chicken Parma is nice, but the mashed potato was dreadful - felt like that powder mixture. Grilled fish nice, and the cheeseburger was ok. Good kids play area and great views. Can get really busy.

Came here for lunch with some friends. I ordered the Steak - Medium Rare. It was delicious. The portion was good and cooked just right !! It was good value for money too. Not too expensive for a lunch, but filling !! View over the Dandenong Ranges was excellent !! Will recommend this restaurant to friends.

Unfortunately this was an absolute disappointment. We had a large group and most of the dishes were not finished. Fish and chips: batter oily and heavy with the fish dry Steak sandwich: meat dry and no other sauce than mayo and tomato sauce. Bao buns: dry and too much smoky bbq sauce. Even our kids were complaining about the dryness of their burger. Very sad to see considering we paid so much.

Our usual Sunday after games lunch. This place we made reservation a week ago as we wanna try their parma and afraid the place is packed. Service & Ambience [3]. A bit confusing while trying to find the restaurant. Went straight after the entrance, a lady asked if we have made reservation. Yes, and were told to head up. There is a lift, but we skip as I am sure is the slowest lift up one level. Stairs up quicker. We read about the nice view - looking far away yes. Near are the car parks. Ordering - well if you have never been to a pub, am sure you will wonder where to order. There are different order area - one for drinks and the other for food. Food counter only one staff so there's a wait. Then at the drink counter, getting a bottle of tap water also got to queue. Well there are new glasses on counter top but no water bottle so got to ask. The place seems noisy. So if you want to have quite and peaceful meal then not here. Family with kids, birthday celebration. You know how it goes. Food [3]. Alright, their parma wasn't the best. The pizza for that price is small and perhaps meant for kid. We thought we can share. Burger, like me see. I preferred Betty Burger taste better. Steak is okay. Something positive - overall bill has no weekend surcharge or did they miss? Cash payment if you want to avoid the card surcharges.

Good food, reasonable prices. The main attraction is the view, which is astounding. Panoramic views through the north side of the bistro. There is a huge kids indoor play area which makes for a relaxing night for mum and dad.

Good family pub. Service was good, cocktails are well priced, kids enjoyed the play place. Unfortunately though my burger was drowned in aioli and the patty was undercooked - but other burgers were cooked well. Not what you want for the price you pay but everyone else enjoyed their meals

The Wheelers Hill Hotel Bistro Review 11/12/2020 Good to see that the new normal is here for the the bistro. Consider that restriction is not fully relaxed, the bistro is "fully" booked under such circumstance. The view is quite specular whether it is day and night. However, I think it is time for the the full length windows to have a good clean, because they do affect my enjoyment looking out to the Mt Dandenong in the distance. Although it is bright day, the sky is not very clear, sort of a bit hazy. There is ample parking. The bistro is definitely wheel-chair friendly because the dining area can be reached from the main entrance by a ramp, a rather "futuristic" curved design. At the basement level, there are quite a number of poker machines The level is also connected from the entrance by a ramp. There is also an internal lift to ferry patrons from the basement to the dining area above. The dining area is very spacious, and I do not feel boxed in. I read a number of negative reviews of about this place, but from my past visits, I found some of them rather unreasonable, and prepare to give it another shot. There are 7 people in our party, and not everyone order the senior meals. The senior meals cost $9.95 each, and the portion size is sufficient for lunch. I order Striploin Steak with Mushroom Sauce, cooked rear, and my wife orders Grilled (Barramundi) with chips. The steak is about half the thickness of the standard meal. Although I order rear, it turns out to be more like medium. I should have ordered blue, because after the steak is cooked, the internal heat continues to "cook", and by the time I eat the last few bites, the steak is no longer in "rear" state. The chips are golden brown and mushroom sauce is flavoursome. I may not give it full marks, but I reckon it is very good, and value for money. The Barramundi is very thin / flat, and it is not likely a local fish, more like from Taiwan. She also feels that it is alright for the price. The display of the dessert is worthy of mention. They are colourful, and probably the staff should promote them to improve sale. The staff serving us, both male and female are friendly. Overall it is a great afternoon dining experience.

Spacious venue with ample car parking, and dining hall offering panoramic views of the Dandenong Mountains. Our steaks were over-done, coming out medium-well instead of rare that we ordered. Accompanying salad and chips were good. Overall, expected better. Team members were friendly enough.

First time back to visit after several years, we were pretty impressed. Service was friendly and efficient, given how busy it was. Menu offered a good variety of meals, however the lobster specials were the highlight. They were a good size with a decent amount of meat on them so good value. There were other menu items that caught my eye...will definitely consider returning again soon. All in all a good night had by all with the family. Keep it up!!

We have been going to this hotel for over 20 years and have always remarked on the quality of the food. Unfortunately this has all changed! Menu has lost the meals that made it exceptional and has become a very ordinary list of food. It has become very noisy and more suited to large family gatherings with huge numbers of noisy children. Unlike many other pubs of this size, there was no designated areas for patrons that wanted a quieter dinner. No use asking for a quiet area as the management places everyone with no thought given to this. We were surrounded by children running through and around tables, parents throwing them up into the air with screams of delight. Great to see families having a lovely time but not at the expense of other patrons. Felt like we were in the middle of a McDonalds party. Actually louder with food not much better. Unsurprisingly, the manager didn’t seem to notice or care about the noise and only blamed us for not bringing this to his notice! He would have had to be blind and deaf! Pity that our long association will now come to an end.

We booked for 6.30, ordered meals by 6.45pm didn’t get to us until after 7.45pm. and it was cold. Staff were rude. Extremely bad mannered. We ordered coffee at 8.20pm and again we waited 30 minutes for lukewarm coffee and were grunted at when asked for them to be remade. They blamed cold meals due to being understaffed. The rudeness was appalling We were told the venue was closing in 5 minutes and we would have to leave, we were still waiting for remade coffees to be delivered. One of the staff was clearing the dinner dishes, at 8.50pm huffing and saying … we close in 10 minutes. Our dishes had been stacked at the end of the table for over an hour. We complained to the female manager, she wasn’t interested in listening. Our group of 6, spent approx $350 in meals and $150 on drinks. Will NEVER return.

Wheelers Hill Motel has its strengths, with only a few drawbacks. I did find some of the meat dishes to be somewhat bland, but the positive side was the enjoyable taste of the chips. The food, in general, is moderately priced and of average quality. The scenic view from the location is something I truly appreciate. Additionally, parking is hassle-free with numerous open spots available. The customer service is reasonably helpful. With its mix of positives and negatives, I would assign a rating of 3 to this establishment.

Came for today dinner with my friend , have a order Parma and steak 🥩 , Food was average but bar supervisor lady name Steph is super rude no smile on face , looks like she not happy to take order , once I place order she never say please and to much attitude on face , It was not much busy today Still she was not able to help us for find table I was regular customer for them but now they lost us , If this pubs need successful in town they need to hire good and professional waiter with small and good attitude There is lots of places in town which are very cheap and they have best customer service I don't recommend anyone go there if they want to get insult from staffs they can go there , Also Parma was not cooked properly chips was cold it is not worth spend $90 dollar for meal Bad customer service and average food The food use to be good but I think they change chef that's why quality below down They reduce chicken Parma size and also with steak they did not provide mushroom 🍄 sauce They have not provided any cutlery and napkins to use I picked my self everything so bad customer service I asked Good luck everyone who is going there for dinner or lunch .

Vegetarian and vegan options are very limited. I ordered the roast pumpkin salad and while it tasted nice it wasn't very substantial given the price tag. I was sad because they used to have this amazing vegetarian stack item on the menu. Playground is amazing for kids and service is fast. The at table QR code ordering charges an extra $1.50 to order, which is ridiculous though.

PLEASE READ TO KNOW WHY THE 2 STARS! This is a rant about a managers rudeness. Just to clarify...the venue is actually very nice and so is the food! A fantastic play area also! We had a large gathering here yesterday afternoon for my sons 2nd birthday. It was all fantastic for the the first half. Great view, great table, great play area, great help. Then a few meals failed to turn up, which I did not mind, as I said we were a large table on a busy afternoon. A female manager came to the table with a tight black haired top head bun. May have been named Casey, may not, I failed to check unfortunately. Said she was going to rectify the issue. I happen to politely mention that a kids meal was missing and this person looked me dead in the eyes and rudely stated that I would have to go line up again in a long line and order it because it was obviously not ordered as it was not on the docket and basically embarrassed me in front of my family and friends. She then walked off with us all just shocked at her rudeness. We had all finished our meals besides 4 of us who had not received anything yet and she wants me to go line up? Mind you the meal I was talking about came out 30 seconds after this confrontation but apparently we never ordered it?? So yes it was ordered! Eventually everyone ate before we went home anyway. We spent almost $900!!! Then this woman ruined my day!

I called to make a booking for 20- not possible so I was given the option of 2 tables of 12 and so I booked that and I requested to be away from the playground. On arrival I was greated by such a pleasant young man who took me to my table of 20. 3 tables joined together looking lovely. I was so happy even though it was near the playground. Service was brilliant- staff was so lovely and accommodating. Food is delicious and big servings. Will definitely be back and 100% recommend. Thanks for a great birthday night.

Its was a nice and pleasant environment and nice playground for kids. Some foods were delicious but the Adult fish and chip need to be improve. The fish has no taste and Barramundi not a good choice. Should has use Flake better. Also the Prawn Lingus Pasta seafood need to add abit flavour no taste. Other than that we are happy with the services and Atmosphere! 👍

You ask for a review here goes DO…NOT get the Cocktails !!!! it was an absolutely shocking long wait to pay for something and watch from a distance as he took his time making it whilst serving other patrons 🤔 it’s not like it’s a full house and there was 2 other staff standing around watching on …I had to follow up several times on what’s taking soo long and this guy would pretend he’s busy and quickly turn his back to me as I approached bar this was a time span of 36minutes for 2 drinks when they came out talk about beyond!!!!! disappointed for the longest wait to receive the most DISGUSTING mojito it tasted like stale ice the worst I’ve ever been served this was a terrible experience and definitely a waste of $$🤮 👎…however on a good note the Food was delicious 10/10 it earned the 3 stars ⭐️ it came out just before our drinks the menu had a good variety this put a smile on our faces good food please thank the chef 👍

Pretty good pub. Modern and open presentation with a pleasant ambience. Just used the Bistro and the menu provided plenty of choices. The meal was very appetising (salt & pepper calamari with salad and chips). Prices fairly normal. Great views of the Mount Dandenongs from your table!

Great place to take your family or just the kids for dinner. Good variety of dishes on offer, I had $9.95 pensioner meal which was well cooked and came out hot. The kids menu was standard but had choices for them. Drinks were reasonable prices and service was fairly fast except entrees (garlic bread) came out after kids meal. Kids play area was good with a big area allocated with climbing structures ect. Well worth a visit for a family dinner or just with a few friends or just the two of you with extensive views from dining room windows.

Table was so sticky, the napkin couldn't be picked up. The meal came out quick. I didn't have overly high expectations of the quality. Cold potato. Brocollini that was burnt on the top and stringy on the stalk. Salmon was not cooked the best but was edible. Garlic bread was cheap and nasty. Had to ask for my beer to be filled to the top of the schooner. Chairs on the table were actually touching each other. No room at all.

Had one of the most tender rump steaks ever. Cooked rare as ordered. On the downside. Entree came out....then one minute later mains arrived, place was full so expected a bit of a wait. only 2 bar staff on, always a line. Would advise to book a table away from kids area if looking for a bit quieter meal. Would go back

Very relaxed spot with a lot of space, light and views. The kids playground is huge and there is plenty of families with kids. Food was pretty good and ordering is very convenient with qr codes. All the food and drinks came fast and priority was given to kids meals. Obviously experienced :) . Bravo

Came here for dinner with a large group. Quieter than other pubs/hotels, which made it easier to have conversations. Great kids playground. Servings are large, but quality is average. I got the steak special- steak was cooked to my liking, but a little tough. Vegetables were bland and sauce was quite runny. Super salads looked great, as did the chicken Parma. We were here 12 months ago and, this time, meals definitely came out more quickly. Very efficient service and wait staff were friendly and happily took group photos when we asked.

Two friends and I came here last week and as we'd booked the 1pm sitting, we got to stay longer than the 90 minute allocation as the next sittings weren't til dinner time. I've been here several times and the view is always lovely, and I found the staff to be extra friendly and helpful on this visit. The menu is more limited than previously and I ended up ordering the entree spring rolls and a bowl of chips. I was quite shocked when my spring rolls arrived - they were very mini. It was an entree, but I expected medium size. To charge $12 for 4 mini spring rolls and chili sauce, some large pieces of onion, and a large lettuce leaf, is very bad value for money - hence the 4 star rating.

Hi everyone, I've been coming to WHH for approximately 26 years, since before the expansion many years ago. Recently my nephew-in-law tried to organize a restaurant in Pakenham to accommodate 40 ppl, he paid a $500 deposit, then later requested $65 per head upfront, needless to say, he cancelled the reservation. He reached out for for help to organize another venue on short notice (1 week). Without skipping a breath I contacted Wheelers Hill Hotel, secured a booking for 35-40 ppl for Saturday 9th July & paid a deposit. My niece had a wonderful surprise party, the food as iv come to expect over the years was delicious, my only gripe is Oysters Kilpatrick wasn't on the menu. Massive thank you to all the waiting staff, chefs & kitchen assistants you all do a fantastic job. Thank you again for providing the perfect environment & delicious food. Regards Craig

Reserved a table at this lovely bistro I've been to a few times over the last 10 years. The service was fast, food came quickly, despite the place being very busy. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The kid's playground is a great, huge, multilevel climbing net thing, which is sound insulated from the dining areas. Didn't hear one kid yelling. My son enjoyed it and it kept him busy. It isn't hard to summon your kid for their meal as you can easily see all levels of the playground. The thing that made me book here instead of places with higher ratings is the amazing view. The dining area is very large, with glass walls overlooking the dandenongs and closer suburbs. And the food was tasty, and wait/bar staff were friendly. All-round worth a visit.

We booked a birthday party package for my sons birthday recently and had to say the experience left me feeling quite underwhelmed. The party manager Anastasia I think was just plain rude and not at all accommodating, she asked for a $200 deposit for the party which was fine but a week before she asked that full payment was made before party and that cannot be paid after party (we anticipate we will have other drinks and such for adults and thought it could be paid together). She said no and told me to pay upfront but we had to add on another kid so I asked her for an updated bill which she did not send me a response. On the day of the party, she came up to us (mind you halfway through the party) and said in an extremely rude tone that full payment of the rest of the invoice had to be made, actually before the food was supposed to be served. Now this make us sounds like we were deliberately running away from paying the bill when all we ask was if the rest of payment can be made with the tab we had. The rest of the wait staffs were great but wheelers hotel you have better re-evaluate your party manager!
