Nice place to catch up with workmates or family. Plenty of space, outdoor area is well shaded. Beer is fab. Food is not bad too. Had the satay thingies and was pleasantly suprised.

The environment is spacious and comfortable, the outdoor seating is beautiful on a sunny day, and the servings are full. The three of us ordered a three-point small plate and another main dish. Great value for money, but the coffee is not as amazing as the food.

My first experience was a work Christmas get together. I was most impressed. Would highly recommend it for group bookings. The food was well presented and tasted great.

A stylish brasserie with a modern Australian menu at prices well below city restaurants, and tastes just as good. It’s the craft beer selection that’s the winner, pairing nicely with steaks, pork, lamb and pasta. A lively and happy environment although the slow and neutral service needs much improvement.

The Rogue Squire was an amazing place. Went there for a nice dinner with my girlfriend and her parents. Was told to order quickly, as they were busy, and there would likely be a wait, but even so, food came out fairly quickly. It was all delicious. Highly recommend.

We held our Rehearsal Dinner here and we were blown away at how amazing the food, service and ambiance was. The venue went above and beyond our expectations and everyone we dealt with has been sooo lovely and wonderful. The space was also great for our group of around ~30. They even catered for the kids and gave them colouring packs. The food was delicious, large portions and presented really nicely. I'll definitely recommend it to everyone - as it's a great location in the east for functions!

Consistently good food! I go here often for events like Father’s day, Mother’s Day and birthdays and though it can get busy (meaning longer wait times), the food always turns out tasting great. The staff are friendly, accommodating to slight alterations (I always switch up the type of fries I get) and are willing to give you extra sauce or dressing if you ask. I recommend their chicken schnitzel, it’s decently priced and it tastes amazing. Their other dishes, especially the ones with fish, are equally as good. Attached photos are of the chicken schnitzel and the crispy skin salmon.

Very good food, this is not my first time here, but every time we back here the food tastes do not change and is always consistent. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice.

We took advantage of the sun and hit the rogue, straight to the deck. Greeted warmly by Georgia we grabbed one of the tables on the deck amongst the lounges and with the beautiful view over the Yarra Valley. The venue is cool modern with a rustic flare. We entered through the bottom floor bar which we will have to try out one Saturday night. We decided to go with the beer grazing menu and ordered the calamari, cauliflower and then followed up with pumpkin hummus. All meals were just great and complimented well with the James squire beers or wine of your choice. Reasonably priced for what we got given the three “entrees” were ample for the both of us. Big call out to Sebastian who was just a cool lad and attentive and friendly. Most definitely be back to enjoy a main or two and try out a Saturday night in the bar downstairs. Cheers team rogue!

Friendly service, spacious interior and great vibes! Came as a group of 10 and we all had a great night. The self-order system at the table was efficient and food and drinks came quickly. Overall the food was tasty (I did think my seafood linguini needed salt) and had great portion sizes and the cocktails were delicious, especially the salted caramel and golden gay time martini!

Booked for a table of 3 a week in advance for a Tues night at 6pm. It was decently busy for a weeknight but I think you’d still be able to walk-in for a table. Food was generously sized, flavours were great. I had the salmon, my friends had the buttermilk chicken schnitzel, and the parma. All presented so well, seasoned well, and overall just really good. Lots of parking on-site. Clean bathrooms, great overall vibe and aesthetic, and great service from staff. Seating upstairs allows for a more intimate seated area while I think downstairs was more of a casual bar hangout spot. There were also pool tables in this area. Upstairs they had footy/sport playing on the tv screens, a smoking area outdoors, and an outdoor area away from the smoking area where you could also sit. Overall a pretty great spot and well located. Will be back to try different meals, drinks, and dessert!

Nice Pub serving good selection of beers and food. Can’t go wrong with their Parma or Steak. For a change ordered the southern style chicken burrito bowl, that was amazing. Prices are similar to other pubs, mains around 25-45 range, serving sizes are good and food quality is great. Staff members are polite and eager to help. Recommend anyone to pay a visit to the Rouge Squire if you happen to be in the area. Bookings can be made online. Cheers and Bon Appetite.

Had a great chilled night enjoying some delicious food and cocktails. The customer service was great and the upstairs area has a great vibe and views. Will definitely be back again. I had to edit my review to add the desserts are so tasty, especially the sticky date pudding!

Came for today dinner with my friend , have a order Parma and steak 🥩 , Food was average but bar supervisor lady name Steph is super rude no smile on face , looks like she not happy to take order , once I place order she never say please and to much attitude on face , It was not much busy today Still she was not able to help us for find table I was regular customer for them but now they lost us , If this pubs need successful in town they need to hire good and professional waiter with small and good attitude There is lots of places in town which are very cheap and they have best customer service I don't recommend anyone go there if they want to get insult from staffs they can go there , Also Parma was not cooked properly chips was cold it is not worth spend $90 dollar for meal Bad customer service and average food The food use to be good but I think they change chef that's why quality below down They reduce chicken Parma size and also with steak they did not provide mushroom 🍄 sauce They have not provided any cutlery and napkins to use I picked my self everything so bad customer service I asked Good luck everyone who is going there for dinner or lunch .

What a fun and memorable visit this was. The staff are really welcoming and the atmosphere is lively. Food was exceptional and every dish was more impressive than the next. Thank you for having us and we will be back soon again.

Love the ambience and beer here , family friendly, disability friendly but the food feels like a lot of them from frozen section. Chips can do better. I love the spicy chicken wings but the suave on top had such strong smell. Just a tiny suggestion to include some good fresh items but sitting here n having a beer is amazing.

The food choices here seem better than the Crafty Squire. When comparing the classic parma, The Rouge Squire offers a better salad but a smaller chicken portion.

This visit was a disappointment. Came once before with a group and really enjoyed it. This time it felt like the owner was on a money grab. The staff were great, but only had half what they needed. Ask you to order through the app, but don't give you the option to request a gluten free pizza base there. Drinks ordered through the app don't come due to the few staff available constantly serving walk ups. Food prices much higher than last time and don't seem value for money. Food quality seems far lower.

I ordered a porterhouse steak and had to wait 50 mins until I got it after asking twice for our food that we waited ages for. I asked for my steak to be medium rare and it arrived pretty much well done making it not as enjoyable to eat.

If you're looking for a nice bar to drink at then this place is great. Great atmosphere, great beers, great cocktails. HOWEVER, I would highly recommend against ordering any food here. It was so bland. I ordered the burrito bowl, the black beans tasted like they were straight from the can, and the capsicum was just raw capsicum, not cooked at all with no seasoning or flavours. The 3 others that I ate with all mentioned their meals were also very bland and not that great. Considering 4 meals cost us roughly $170!! The food is severely overpriced for the quality that you get. Please just stick to the drinks.

Negatives: Food was hands down the worst meal I’ve had in recent memory. Overcooked steak with no real flavour was able to be livened up by drowning in sauce. Same for flavourless chips. Burrito bowl came with undercooked rice, a cob of corn drowned in mayo ( too lazy to cut into ribs per the menu) and old rotting avocado. Mac and cheese was the texture of mashed potato (curiously impressed as to how this is achieved) and inedible. Virgin margarita is just solo and lime juice. All in all the food is something I’d expect on Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. Positives: Lively atmosphere with nice outdoor booth seating in the sun. Friendly service and manager offered partial refund.

Great pub in a modern, spacious setting, with a wide range of James Squire beers and great food. The Pork Belly with ginger chilli caramel sauce is perfectly cooked and delicious, highly recommend this. The smoked pulled brisket and kransky is delicious and really substantial. There are some nices sides here too. Hardest part was choosing what to eat. The sticky date pudding is great if you have a sweet tooth, and definitely share as it's a huge portion.

Staff are brilliant, seating and service great. Limited menu, but what they do have is fresh, generous serves. Great for a catch up with friends!

Good variety of food options on the menu. My partner enjoyed the range of beers on tap. My pasta was a little bland. Serving sizes are huge. Table seating was comfortable. Great for families.

The Rogue Squire is a great hangout joint. We really enjoyed the place and even on a Tuesday night the place was packed. Food wise was not bad and we really enjoyed the food. The issue is that you need to know what to order before you come here as due to the popularity it could take a bit of time till your order comes out. Overall my experience is that we enjoyed The Rogue squire and well worth the visit.

Really good atmosphere, great views to the blue dandenongs, easy to get to from the city ,plenty of parking, next level pub food. This is surf and turf comes with a soft shell crab for the surf component, steak was so tender I'll be back.

  • 3/5 Jen 1 year ago on Google
Overall, the pork belly entree and the scotch steak was the highlight. Wouldn’t get the surf and turf topper as it was non existent and gave the immediate feeling of being ripped off, two small pieces of seafood and sauce for $10. For a pub meal, it’s a mix of restaurant food at exorbitant prices. Very pricy for $58 scotch fillet and topper. Alright if you’re willing to pay for above average food. Entree: The cheesy garlic toast was cheesy, not garlicky. Well toasted. The pork belly burnt ends and salad was delicious. Good value and tasty entree. Mains: Enjoyed the black angus scotch fillet. The meat was cooked perfectly, tender and a delight to eat. The salad was generous and made a balanced accompaniment, can’t remember the dressing. The let downs were there other parts: the chips weren’t crispy, surf & turf topper was a measly single single prawn and single piece of calamari. I needed to fish it out of the container as I couldn’t easily see the surf for the $10 (not the garlic tiger prawns listed) & jack of spades jus was watery and bitter, not reduced down enough. Dessert: The bombe Alaska was a little fancy. Good size to share amongst three or four depending on how sweet toothed you are. Ice cream, sponge and meringine were a great combo and not too sweet. The chocolate mousse was very rich, plenty for two. Atmosphere: Outside deck was nice on a warm day, but difficult to get the nice lounges outdoors. Seats were hard for the tables. Service was pretty good. Was able to get cutlery and water without repeating requests.

Dinner for 4 on a Thursday night at 7pm. Plenty of friendly and helpful staff. Food was very good, we all enjoyed all our meals. I had the smoked cajun fries with the pulled beef brisket and kransky sausage. Both were very tasty, well presented on the plate and a substantial feed. Enjoyed the Squires Apple cider, on tap. Not too sweet, loke alot of other ciders. I would definitely recommend and we will be back.

Great place for drinks, pub food, watching footy or just catching up with friends. Visited on a Wed night and the main floor was full. Ordered the brisket and sausage, crispy skin Salmon, and chicken parma. Portions were generous and food was tasty. There were recommeded beer and food pairings. Easy ordering via qr code or at the counter. Service was friendly, but the food took about 20 mins to arrive, perhaps due to the full pub. Bookings recommended.

Impressed by their chicken parma, crispy outside, juicy and tender inside. Side chips were fresh and crunchy. You can get it for $20 on Tue and it’s so good. Not only that, Tue night is also trivia night, which adds more fun to the night!

I brought a couple of friends here, a little nervous as I'd only had drinks and not eaten here before. The upstairs balcony is lovely with its generous comfortable seating and nice views - you would not guess how nice it is inside by just looking at its dark grey exterior from the road. I needn't have worried about the food - we ordered the calamari, the fish and chips and the fried chicken - the portions were generous, the food fresh and tasty and we were very happy. It was a 25 degree autumn day; we enjoyed a gentle breeze, some sunshine and shade and were very comfortable sitting outside. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. I love the on tap Orchard cider, crisp and cold. So all in all, 5 stars.

Lovely dishes and outstanding duck risotto! The potatoes dish was the least impressive one. Get yourself an outdoor seating will enhance the experience. If you are just looking for a drink or two, the bar area downstairs has pool tables and some horse racing/ sports betting options too!
