High- Tea Location is a lovely venue in mount Dandenong that is highly recommended if you want to be in nature and away from the city for the weekend. The desserts and food stands were fresh and visually stunning! They provide you with good quality tea and you can request them to fill up your teapot as you go. The scones and jams were also fresh, and we were allowed to take the rest of our desserts home. Also, you can tell them your dietary requirements and they change them for you. Also, you can request more savory items or sweets as you like. There are few animals out in the garden, you can feed them as well.

We went here for dinner as we were in Olinda for a little getaway and let me just say I'm still thinking about the food absolutely delicious! The pork dumplings were the best I've had, ribs were but sized and so tender and the star was the honey chicken so delicious and fresh wow. We got the chicken for dessert and that was nice little dessert to finish off the night. The service was spot on, so glad we came here!

Not sure why it’s so busy. The place is not Japanese restaurant but Chinese. Food was so average that you could find better ones in Box hill. We had fried chicken with lemon sauce. The chicken was dried in my opinion but eatable. They have many staff running around but very hard to catch their attention. Scones was good though.

Our friend invited us to celebrate her birthday here and we tried their high tea selections for the first time. I loved the presentation of everything and I enjoyed most of the dessert and the dishes. Their sandwiches and pork bun were delicious and the mushroom pastry was creamy and rich. As for the dessert, my personal favourite was the mini pink pig mousse cake. The services were amazing and all the waiters and waitresses were attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend it for special occasions!

Always see this on my Instagram and finally had a chance to be there. Oh boy do I like it? I love it! The High Tea was delicious and the service is unbeatable. My partner and I are savoury person and the lady said next time we can request the High Tea to be changed to the savoury instead of too much sweet. She also said that because we paid for not little money so they wanted to make sure we enjoy our time here. What a lovely person. The view is amazing and just perfect for us.

The service, food, tea were below average. However, outdoor garden area was relaxing and nice 🙂 TABLE: It took much longer than usual just to get a table. The place wasn't busy yet the large space made staffs busy. FOOD: Dumplings were nice. Black noodle salad (which I think they should just call it as black noodle) was extremely salty. The most saltiest food I had ever eaten in Melbourne. I asked the staff member and told her it was extremely salty. She said, "it's like that". Nothing got changed. TEA: Eww...the teaware was dirty full of tea stain 😣 As a tea lover, visiting once checked off my bucketlist. The experience was disappointing.

Excellent ambience and great service. The exterior is beautifully landscaped and the place transports you to a quiet getaway. The service was great and prompt. The service staff was attentive throughout. Food was a bit of a let down though. The pork ribs hardly had any meat on them and were more like nibbles. The cumin Lamb though excellently cooked had extra salt. The dessert was the saving grace.

Very tasty and beautifully presented food, more than enough, we had to take some home. I worried that the kids high tea would not be generous enough, but my daughter also couldn't finish her food. Lovely gardens and the kids enjoyed feeding the alpacas. I will visit again.

A scenic place to enjoy some good food. Their high tea is popular, but we had some Asian lunch. Good food with great service and excellent atmosphere surrounded by nature. Would highly recommend this place to add to your dining experience.

I highly enjoyed my visit to this establishment. The ambiance, cuisine, and the majority of the beverages were of exceptional quality. The bartenders demonstrated a profound expertise in mixology, evident in the excellently crafted drinks. This venue is a remarkable choice for socializing, unwinding, or even for a romantic outing.

The surrounding is fabulous. The decorations are beautiful. You cannot believe there is so good restaurant on the top of mountain. The food is delicious. The only thing is, it might take longer time waiting for the food😹

Beautiful place with great food. They even grow herbs in their garden so that they are freshly taken for your dishes. The desserts are great too! I was really impressed by the quality of the food, service and the overall atmosphere. I will definitely come back!

For my early birthday treat, I wanted to try this place out. All I can say is, I wish there was a tad more savoury than sweet, but the food was overall good. Service was a tad slow at the beginning, but the waiter that served us was lovely. The atmosphere was nice. Thank you for the experience.

A comfortable and lovely place. We had the Chinese lunch menu, which was great, we didn't try the fancy high tea. It is a very popular place, even on weekdays because it is the only nice eatery in that area. Indoors is the better option, though outdoors looks romantic. We visited at around 2:30pm, after the peak hours, which is much more relaxing.

Stunning views, excellent service, and good food. They also have high tea selection but we opted for lunch menu instead. The lunch menu is ample with classic Asian dish as well as several Asian fusion (such as wasabi prawns). Loved the relaxed atmosphere and staff's attentiveness. Reservation is definitely recommended as it can get very busy despite the location being quite secluded.

Beautiful restaurant in a gorgeous garden setting! Fran who was looking after us was incredibly friendly and warm hearted with us. The portion sizes are generous. We had a few entrees and shared a plate of vegetables, fried rice and the lamb. Everything was just delicious. We’ll be back! Thanks again Fran for the great hospitality ☀️

We had a wonderful lunch, ordered off the menu, including the salt baked prawns and san choi bow, and the food was delicious. The premium jasmine tea was the best I have ever tasted. Was a great day out, including the desserts, which got an A+ for presentation and A+ for taste. Service was excellent. The venue is beautifully laid out and the gardens delightful. Can’t wait to go back again when the weather improves.

We came for High Tea on a Saturday and we were not disappointed. It's about $73pp for a 1.5 to 2 hour seating, consisting of 2 drinks and their set menu. Their set menu comes with savouries and sweets. The savouries include: egg sandwich, bbq pork buns, chorizo croquettes and truffle mushroom bouchees. Their sweets consist of: rose macarons, tiramisu trifle, baked cheesecakes, caramel almond chouxs, chocolate mousse, rabbit mousse and piggy mousse. They also offer bottomless scones with cream and jam with their high tea. They have an extensive list of teas and hot drinks to choose from. The sweets were presented uniquely and they were all delicious. The savouries were also quite good too. The scones were a little dry but with the jam and cream, they were good. We had different drinks, I had a matcha latte and english breakfast tea which I thought helped balanced out the sweetness of the sweets. The garden itself was smaller than I expected but it was beautiful nonetheless. Will come back here again :)

Really nice place for a wedding. As a celebrant I frequent a large number of venues, this is one of the nicest. Looking forward to returning for another wedding in a few weeks time.

Had the high tea which was fun! Got to sit on the deck on a swaying chair which was actually really relaxing, especially with tea and the snacks. The amount was definitely enough for two people, we couldn’t actually finish everything, but we were able to have a taste of it all, and it was amazing. It is in a beautiful area and was fun to explore around the garden too.

My family and I dined here on Good Friday on the $66 set menu and left extremely satisfied. Everything came out not only aesthetically pleasing like the venue itself but delicious and filling. The portion was very generous hence why we had to leave with takeaway boxes. The star dish apart from their signature dessert stand (which is a must order) was Stir Fry Eggplant with Potato with Sweet Soy Sauce and their Pickled Tomato that was apart of the assorted cold dishes, the sweet and tangy flavours worked very well. It is very fitting for large groups and would recommend for a nice little getaway from the busy city chaos.

Great high tea experience at Olinda. They offer private rooms dining and high tea for children too. Highly recommend it if you’re up for a bit of drive in the woods and enjoy connecting to nature. Would have been a better if the weather was less gloomy as we couldn’t really enjoy their beautiful gardens and alpaca feeding!! The food was sensational, loved their savouries and scones were not dry. Service is good, wait staff are courteous and polite. If go visit again, I’ll probably opt in for the garden gazebo high tea package.

Celebrated my sister’s birthday here last Saturday, our first time to dine here and so glad we chose the right place. Foods were so delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent and staff were helpful, especially that girl named ‘Lily’ who helped us chose which food is the best. This restaurant also has a beautiful park, entertained by Alpacas and a Pony. We will surely come back here.

Outstanding! Not only is Olinda Tea House nestled in beautiful, lush gardens, the service and the food is amazing! Mr Hoover, our waiter, was a delightfully funny and a customer focused server! We were thrilled with his service and the light humour, with his joking around! We thoroughly enjoyed the fusion high tea experience……beautifully presented and scrumptious! A nice balance of savoury and sweet. They allowed us to take home what we couldn’t consume. Highly recommend coming to Olinda Tea House and we will come again for dinner!

Overall, I'd give this place a 2 star. This location is nestled within the nature, the view and the interior design is stunning. However, I did notice a lot of spider webs accumulating on the pillar decor. My biggest comment would be the lack of communication from the staff. We went for the high tea and they changed the menu to their Christmas special without notifying us in advance. They are still using an outdated menu so what you see on the menu is not the same as what you get. We noticed this as I usually like to know exactly what I'm eating. There were supposed to be items such as rabbit jelly and piggy mousse but they were not there. There was also one less dessert item served compared to their old menu. All this whilst the price remaining the same. All of this was not communicated to us until we asked the staff. One of the staff had very little knowledge of the food served. Food wise I enjoyed the first few items, the Asian bao, croquette. There were nothing special with the other dessert. The price we paid and the level of service we received did not match in my opinion. I would not recommend.

Food was good. The group really enjoyed it, really filling. Loved how they have their garden outside to enjoy before or after dining. We hung out outside enjoying the weather and Alpaca's before having lunch.

A wonderful way to celebrate Valentine's Day. The venue was beautifully decorated and offered a fantastic selection of Vegan options. The staff member Fran was helpful and welcoming. Please pass on our thanks to her for making our outings so positive! She went above and beyond. The dumplings and the vegan spicy chicken were key standouts. The venue also had a great wine selection.

Held a wedding in Olinda Tea House (ceremony + reception) in early November . Lots of our guests ( different ethnicity groups ) have been commenting about how impressed they are by the food . The dessert looked great , almost everyone took pictures of it , and it tasted good too. We ordered wedding cake from Olinda Tea House too, it looked good in pictures and tasted fresh. Also we call out the good service they have. Their event manager did a great help in organising the event, they are good at coordinating to different vendors / people and responding to circumstances, saved lots of trouble for us and reduced our stress on our big day . They also have a fancy bridal room , very spacious and good for pictures . We definitely rate 5 star for Olinda Tea House as a wedding venue and highly recommend it to couples who are planning a wedding

very beautiful restaurant, atmosphere was gorgeous, service was timely and efficient. mid-low warm lighting, peaceful sounds of nature. garden was well maintained. well worth the price. menu wasn't the most creative but they had a solid selection of vegan items, although they could be a little more flavourful. house boiled vegan dumplings were my personal favourite. fresh, juicy, flavourful. sauce had crushed peanuts and garlic and was a great entrees. the vegan mapo tofu was delicious, however I think it could benefit from perhaps diced dried shiitake mushrooms. if you're not a ginger lover beware, it does have ginger bits. the vegan kwetiaw was also delicious but could have been charred a little more. flavour and sweetness were good but could use a little depth. roasted lamb was a tad drier than expected but still very crisp and delicious. would order again. desserts were very cute and not too sweet. I would recommend the rabbit mousse cake. house mojito was delicious, very fresh and herbal. jasmine tea was also very good.

Located atop the scenic Mt Dandenong, this well-known Chinese restaurant is a great dining option for Chinese families. The menu features a range of traditional Chinese dishes that are not only delicious but also cater to Western tastes, leaning towards the sweeter side. However, there are some areas for improvement. Portions for certain dishes like Spicy Chicken are on the smaller side. Additionally, the speed and sequencing of dishes being served could be enhanced. Overall, it offers a good dining experience with room for improvement.

I would say place is been irrelevantly hyped, had a average experience over there. Though they do have a good yard for walk. Alpacas were so cute. Didn’t like the food and service was below average. I was expectations it to be really nice place as per been waiting from so long to be there.

Service and food is okay, just like eating in any Chinese restaurant with a tiny bit higher price. The dinning room smells like old traditional Chinese restaurant in mainland China. The garden however is gorgeous. Great for a walk and taking photos and for children to see the Alpacas

Generous big serving with the standard high tea set menu. The cakes were delicious, but I wish there were a few more interesting savory dishes. The fried prawn ball was awesome but other ones we had egg sandwich, mushroom pastry, a pork bun which mostly were just okay.

Food was descent and service was nice, place is really nice and has a cosy feel to it. Had lunch there and tried a few different options. Their signature dishes were really good. We had a family member with certain dietary requirements and the staff offered options that suits their needs. We were really happy with the food.

Loved it! Everything tasted amazing and there was a good balance of sweet and savoury. The waitress serving us was lovely and polite. The place itself was beautiful with gardens out the back that you can walk around in. It's definitely one of the better high tea places that I've been to and I highly recommend trying this place for yourself.

Whilst the Olinda tea house is set in a very scenic location, the gazebo high tea experience did not live up to expectations. Online the gazebos look set well within the garden, however we were placed in a gazebo right next to a carpark/driveway which offset the atmosphere. The gazebos are also, unfortunately, not covered by nets despite the obvious wasp problem the tea house faces- our food was covered in wasps and when we told staff the issue, we were advised that we could move inside (which is a cheaper experience) or essentially just deal with them. The food itself was nice and the desserts are unique, however for $200 it was quite underwhelming. Like mentioned previously, the garden is gorgeous and it is a beautiful place to see. I would recommend visiting for lunch but skipping high tea as the experience is overpriced and average.
