I love this plaza! Not only because it is very well located in the middle of Dorchester but because it has literally anything you need. Please, take note ๐Ÿ“ There are stores for groceries ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒถ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿฅ•, electronics ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’ป, renovations โš’๏ธ๐Ÿ”จ๐Ÿช›, shoes ๐Ÿ‘  ๐Ÿ‘ž โ€ฆ. Beautiful and nice restaurants, even a Nail salon ๐Ÿ’… (Which I love!) and finallyโ€ฆ a Starbucks (a very nice one!) I come very often and still there are stores I havenโ€™t visit. It is a busy mall, so be prepared for a little hassle to park.

I'm new to Dorchester, so Southbay was the first location that reminded me of back home and normalcy. It's also the place I go listen to my favorite song and stare at the skyline for a few minutes. All the shops in one place are so convenient.

This area was very clean. Folks are nice here. Speak when spoken too. Even speak with a warm greeting โ˜บ๏ธ But it's still Boston! Not good vibes for me because I'm a fan of the STEELERS!!

I walked past Pearl at South Bay at night on 9/23/21 and it's beautiful as shown in the stunning pictures attached. I went to Pearl on the following Saturday. It was an interesting experience. The food was good overall. We ordered lots of things from the menu totalling about $200.00. Without going into much detail about the food, which was very good, the service at lunch was slow. The waiters were a little too much interested in talking amongst themselves, as opposed to giving great customer service to the patrons. The drinks came over a little too slow, but the food came out fast. A new restaurant should be very careful in these times to make sure that the customer's are very well taken care of, with impeccable service. Cleaning tables in between courses and making sure that the lunch and dinner services are up to their expectations. When you're introducing a seafood restaurant in Boston it's very important to make sure that the restaurant is meeting expectations. There's plenty of competition.

This ctr has great stores. This is a great location. Plenty of parking but what's around there is discouraging. It's full of people with drug issues. People shop lifting. People getting high and dirty all over the parking lots. Otherwise it would be a five.

Went to my wife and myself favorite lace for luncheon special. We both like the Shrimp Scampi, Salad and Bread sticks. We split 1 Special and walk out of there feeling good. For a change you might try the Chicken Parmesan, it's delicious. We've never left Olive Garden, unsatisfied. Great food, very good staff and occasionally a little slow even when there not to busy.

It is unfortunate l, the amount of people standing around the stores, in the parking lots and home depot side. Can't get out alof the car with people approaching you for work, want to help you, money ect. It ha gotten much worse over the years. I will not shop here anymore. I had to argue with guys to leave my stuff alone when coming out of HD while the security just sat there.

South Bay Mall is improving. Additional stores such as Nike converse loyal companion carters and others makes for a better experience. Feels cleaner and safer than in the past. Shout out to staff at Nike and loyal companion. They know they difference between a sale and servicing the customer.

Since they built that section next to Panera, I like South Bay more than I used to. I always felt there were not enough food options in the mall and now they have places that people actually like to go to. It does suck that Forever 21 had to close though. It was more convenient for me, but I guess I'll go back to shopping online.

I was going to give 5 but BEST BUY DORCHESTER is HORRIBLE! They do not care about the customers at all!! The BEST BUY CAMBRIDGE is WAY more professional and humble with their customers but their was a time a employee charged a customer for TTS (worth $150) without her knowledge...be careful with BEST BUY PERIOD! they leave their phones off the hook on purpose so don't depend on help from them!

Methadone mile* any drug in the world can be found on๐Ÿ™ "the mile" ๐Ÿ™. Along with every kind of person in personalities some cases many personalities in one person that is probably due to their sickness and no one to judge a person I am not a God ๐Ÿ™. not lots of hope in most homeless addicted. Dark souls basically have given up ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™. I'm also a "sick person" (recovering alcohol and drug addict). Trying to get better one day at a time. It's a lifelong battle every day twice on Sundays. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜‰. Don't judge nobody regardless of what you stereotype them as you never know what someone's been through. I'm so sick of people throwing shade just because. Misery loves company and that's the most true statement about humans. A lot of times people like to judge people to make them feel better about their own dirty secrets, demons. You're in need of any help? Everybody has $500 voucher that needs to be activated through ATR. There's a lot of resources in the state for people that are addicts and alcoholic.

South Bay has most things you need, however Security Is Severely Lacking. I feel very unsafe and try to avoid the area. South Bay is on the news almost every night for assaults, customers attacked, robberies. It is immediately adjacent to Methadone Mile. A tent city inhabited by heroin addicts. NOT a pleasant experience. Please Make it Safe.

It's come a long way South Bay is South bay though. There is always something going on and you get all walks of life. That's why there is a mini police station in it because they see everything. The Home Depot is the most expensive one I know of in Ma. Drywall is like 5$ cheaper a board in the Avon one.

The shopping center has improved immensely over the past years. There are a great variety of stores and places to eat. Ample parking spaces. A relaxing green space or walking trail would be a great addition in center of lot.

  • 5/5 JoAnn B. 2 years ago on Google
The South Bay Center is surprisingly nice. From the freeway the place looks drab, but once within the complex you'll find a nifty variety of restaurants, cosmetic/spa, and clothing shops. It would be nice to have greater variety in shopping, but what you find is nice.

  • 5/5 Arlene R. 2 years ago on Google
I made a trip home to Boston, and went to South Bay with my sister. I was amazed. I remember when the area was a vacant plot of land. Now it's a shoppers dream. Everything from a supernarket to a movie theatre. My only issue is the parking lot. Not well planned and I heard there a multiple accidents reported every week. Don't let that deter you. Go get your Starbucks and drive safely. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜โ˜•โ˜•

Itโ€™s such a great shopping center, there is a tons of food places such as Panera, Chipotle, and more! Itโ€™s also located not that far away from a red line train station called Andrew. Itโ€™s easy to get there. I definitely suggest going there if you need to hang out or just chill

The South bay center shopping area is a place that you could pretty much find everything that you're looking for. The variety of stores has it so that you can do something with everyone in the family. Just one thing to be alert about, there are many homeless people and addicts that frequent that area so keep that in mind!!!

This place is a hidden jewel! Plenty of pleasant surprises. Go the movie theater area and see your "wow" I don't want to spoil it for you. The area is secured, police center across the parking lot and usually an officer watching over things. Great condo development butts the landscape. Major grocery store, Target, Best Buy, top family restaurants and MBTA bus stop comes right inside mall parking lot. Did I mention a Home Depot is here too!? Take an excursion via the T and absorb the views outside the mall and upon entering. It's a nice walk to get here!

The boat was great BUTโ€ฆ.. My husband went up and rented a boat during our vacation in Cape Coral. He went in on a Wednesday around 10:30am and The request was for 3 days to be picked up at noon. The rep never gave him a receipt and never reviewed what 3 days meant. On Friday afternoon my husband called the shop to confirm what time the boat had to be back on Saturday. He was informed that it had to be back on Friday by 5pm or there would be additional charges. To me 3 days =72 hours and it shouldโ€™ve been due Saturday at 12. At the very least the shouldโ€™ve done 2 things: charged us for 2.5 days or informed us of how they do it so we couldโ€™ve made the informed decision. If we had know we wouldโ€™ve scheduled the rental for pick up at 8am Thursday and returned Saturday at 5

This place is right on the edge of a major drug crisis zone. The good people that work here and the customers that come here deserve better. Local law enforcement needs to do a better job of moving these people out of this area. Every time I come here there is some issue. You have people loitering around the front of the stores, obviously high as a kite. Today I witnessed someone who was clearly unstable screaming at customers as they were making their way to the store. A few days ago I watched as people were dealing drugs right out in the parking lot. I'm guessing Mayer Wu doesn't shop here.

The South Bay Center is a shopping mall located in Boston, Massachusetts. It is home to a variety of retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment options, making it a popular destination for both locals and visitors. As a frequent visitor to the South Bay Center, I have always been impressed with the selection of stores and restaurants available. From major department stores and national chain retailers to local boutiques and specialty shops, there is something for everyone. The mall also has a food court with a variety of fast food and sit-down restaurants, as well as a number of sit-down restaurants located throughout the mall. One of the things I appreciate most about the South Bay Center is the convenient location. It is easily accessible from major highways and public transportation, and there is ample parking available. The mall is also well-maintained and clean, with friendly staff on hand to assist with any questions or concerns. Overall, the South Bay Center is a great place to shop, dine, and have fun. Whether you are looking for the latest fashion trends, a delicious meal, or just want to spend some time with friends and family, it is a great destination.

Dangerous place to be. Too close to junkie town. Junkies passed out in front of the stores. Don't ever leave your car unlocked and be very aware of your surroundings. They will slash your tires and offer to help. Don't get taken in! Very dangerous place.

  • 1/5 Jaime B. 1 year ago on Google
Iโ€™ve shopped at South Bay many times over the years and I usually find the experience to be pretty unremarkable. But when I was there last Friday evening, it was mess: there were at least a dozen police vehicles scattered throughout the parking lot-all with their engines running (wasteful!) & emergency lights flashingโ€ฆThe lights are obnoxiously bright and potentially hazardous to drivers: I found them to be highly distracting as I slowly navigated my way through the giant parking lot. Furthermore, I saw three of the police officers as I drove past them sitting in their vehicles-one appeared to be sleeping, and the other two were quite obviously looking at their phones. What is the purpose of this excessive police presence?

Did a favor for a friend and dropped them off at this mall. Unfortunately, this mall was very uninviting, actually scary in broad daylight. Alot of mysterious, frightening characters hanging around outside a few of the stores. I watched and waited while my friend entered and phoned me that they arrived inside the store safely. I'd be hesitant to return to this mall. Tred carefully.

Okay, This plaza location has simply gotten better. I'm amazed at what they've done with it in the past 10 years. I personally grow tired of it, but then they decided to develop it, adding extra amenities such as more restaurants and cafes and not to mention outlets and a lux movie theater? Haha. Now the environment just bustles, people spend more time here shopping dining and lingering than they do in actual inside mall. Haha. Good job developers.

Lots of shops for everything you could want or need. A lot of parking. And, of course, a lot of people and cars. The sinage could be better to direct traffic to desired locations. Go with a patient, positive attitude, expecting to interact with lots of people who may not know how to navigate the large parking lot and business layout.

Itโ€™s a shopping center. I deducted one star for sketchiness. The local unhoused and addicted population occasionally spill over a tiny bit from Mass and Cass, and sometimes thereโ€™s a shooting/stabbing/robbery at night. Other than that, great selection of stores and restaurants.
