These ruins are so lovely just off the parking lot by the zoo. It is a short walk where you feel lost and in the middle of an English book from the past. I saw the fog exhibit here and it was my favorite place of all the different exhibits that were around Boston. It is old but refreshingly new depending at which time of year you visit and what the seasons the beautiful leaves of autumn or the snow of winter. It makes you feel like you're going back in history in the middle of the city and is a beautiful sanctuary from the hecticness that Boston can be.

The ruins make it an interesting place. Not too many people around at the end of November. Also, poison ivy is less of a problem at this time of year.

The Overlook Shelter Ruins were originally built as a fieldhouse and destroyed by fire some time in the 1940s. These are now a great photo opportunity not far from the Franklin Park Playstead.

Definitely overgrow now, but it was a great way to spend a couple of hours wandering around to check out. As long as you watch out for the poison ivy, you should be fine.

Franklin park is a nice size park that, despite the city's obvious inattention in places, contains a lot of beauty and history. The old homestead ruins have some interesting stonework, and the landscaping of the overlook provides a nice place to observe or to find a quiet space.

Beautiful little local secret. Close to street parking and a short walk. Very peaceful--people come here to read or get away from the world--let's keep it that way.

The City Boston Parks Department unveiled their Action plan to invest over 28 million dollars in Franklin Park. They will definitely need over 100 million dollars to put a dent in this park. Do go and enjoy the park. Well covered with different varieties of tree, invasive, birds a place to relax, walk and meet friends.

I think an excavation will show the oldest civilization to ever be discovered based on the abilities to carve precision angular cuts to the stones that are squared and elevated perfectly just yet to be able to show the water powers and precisions to the empire hidden in here by a stone wagon wheel bridge.
