I’m surprised that Harvard doesn’t have a better gym for their students. Very crowded. Small. Not inventive or thoughtful in the design or creative in the workout areas. Harvard — you can do better for your students and staff. Nearly every station and machine had someone using it — and usually someone waiting to use it.

I wish they had more/uniform squat racks. They have three, and all three are different, and the height adjustments on all three are juuuust big enough that there is no comfortable height for me to squat at. I am either on tip toes or going real low to unrack/re-rack. I've never run into that problem at any other gym, but they somehow have three different styles of rack where it's a problem.

The gym is great love it. The best gym in harvard also prob the biggest one too since the others are on the small side. It does get busy in the afternoon but I rarely go after 1pm so it's best to wake up super early like 7am.. but overall great gym & greAt equipment gets the job done!

The gym itself is fine and has been recently refurbished so it looks less like it was built in the 1980s. The problem is the staff - there is really no element of customer service, everyone looks super glum and some of the stuff are just plain rude in a totally egregious way. I made a complaint to all of the available contact email addresses regarding unnecessary aggressive behavior from the staff but never received any reply. Suspect there's not really much accountability or inherent interest improving here.

A pretty good selection of weights and cardio equipment. The only problem I have is that there is a serious lack of space to do freeweight and abdominal exercises. If you are new to the gym, I notice in the morning, it is more crowded very early (6 am to 8:30 am) then gets less crowded. I don't knke anything about after 10 am.

Excellent facilities and has 3-4 floors: has lots of great equipment for leg day as well as arm day. The leg machine area has like 12 of each kind of machine you can imagine. The dumbbell area has a huge variety of dumbbells including 120lb pounds! It can get a bit crowded, but the best time to come 1-1.5 hours before closing time instead of at peak hours during the mid-day.

Strange floorplan, but they made the most of a space that was adapted into a gym. Definitely a full featured gym, and convenient location for students living in grad student housing

Busy Harvard gym. The best of the gyms, but far from addressing the issue at hand. Harvard needs another gym space! All their facilities are too small.

Not a fantastic structure, but not bad. However the staff is extremely RUDE. I’ve seen many people complaining about it and that is not normal. We are paying for a service, it is not a favor.

This is the campus gym to go to if you like to strength train. The QRAC is a step above a hotel gym and the Malkin is a serviceable alternative. If you don't do a lot of barbell movements the Malkin is better for the crowd size. You can deadlift here but you must wear shoes. There are enough squat racks most times of the day but be prepared to ocassionaly wait in line or work in with someone. Olympic lifting is banned at all campus gyms :(

Bruh why is it never open or open during the most random times. Harvard, do better. 😵‍💫

For a gym its small, busy and awkward. I wish we had many more choices at Harvard but it is what it is! The staff is polite on some days but not on most. Gave it 3 stars for keeping it clean. Overall not to my liking and it could use a lot of help in staffing members for classes too.

😠 EDIT: September 2022 it was ok for a few months but it’s back to not opening on time. 20+ minutes of waiting and nobody showed to open the gym. Terrible service for the twenty people waiting. Literally never seen another business this bad at opening. March 3rd 2022 STILL an issue. Twice at least th...

😠 Classes are great but trying to get in contact with the studio is a pain. Tried to cancel my membership several times over phone and email and got not responses, so I had to pay for an extra month. Update: just got charged another month even after canceling.

👍👍 I’m new to yoga and at first I was a bit intimidated by the more experienced members. However, it’s a very inviting and the instructors are really good explaining the movements and flow of the classes. I just wish we could lose the masks, but it is what it is in the current pandemic, so it’s not tha...

😠 Embarrassing that this gym is associated with Harvard. Bad air circulation, space is poorly allocated, and hours are always changing. This place should be gutted and renovated.
