We had such a lovely time on the sunset cruise- the boat was adorable, the staff was friendly, and there was some background narration you could listen to if you'd like about what we were cruising by. The price was reasonable as well. Highly recommend!

The view of Boston from the sea is beautiful; if you then add the colors of the sunset and then, in the dark, the lights of the city it becomes spectacular! 60 minutes would have been enough, but even 90 fits in well with the day's activities. Cover up well!

The overall experience was worth the money. The sights during the tour are awesome. Unfortunately, many people complained about not being able to hear the narration during the tour and there is not enough seating for everyone. Get in line early for seating on the top deck. Otherwise a nice outing.

Very enjoyable trip, beautiful skyline when the sun was setting. Even got some gorgeous pictures with the USS Constitution with beautiful orange back drop.

Enjoyed the Fourth of July boat tour. Get there early if you want a seat at the top. There was a cash bar and a DJ. People enjoyed both.

A very pleasant sunset 🌇 cruise along Boston and Logan Airport. Friendly staff. The finale, the USS Constitution firing its guns at sunset. Google Maps will take you near the business but not to any parking 🅿️ area. You check ✔️ in at a different office than the one marked Massachusetts Bay Lines. Only issues, I couldn't hear whoever was speaking over the intercoms giving information about what we were seeing. The intercom works better in the front of the boat than it did in the back. They don't serve much food on board. They do have lots of drinks, but, other than chips and Oreo cookies, I didn't notice anything else. Bathroom was in decent shape. Face masks not required on board. I rode on the M/V Freedom. It's a nice ship. Three decks, the top was very popular. I recommend a tour. Bring a 🧥 jacket, it can get cold.

Nice, lovely cruise around the Boston Harbor. I was on when the day was longer and it didn’t get dark until late but it was still enjoyable.

  • 5/5 Jean M. 4 years ago on Google
The sunset cruise is amazing. They were able to accommodate a party of 20 of my friends. The boat itself felt a bit over crowded, that's because everyone stay outside. The sunset views in the summer is amazing

It seemed silly to want people to board 45 minutes early. The tour was nice and informative. They told us tons of history, current facts and other interesting things. I took so nice pictures of the evening colors. They even timed it very nicely so that we could hear the sun setting cannon from the Constitution ship signalling the end of the day.

the ship from hingham to Boston was great. The staff on the whale watch had no personality especially the bartender, Bill, he should not work with the public.

It was phenomenal! My sisters & mom had the best time. We also met very nice people on the sunset cruise. I recommend anyone who is new to visiting Boston, you will not regret it. The views are stunning & everyone is so nice :) thank you for an amazing time on my first trip to Boston, Massachusetts!

Great ride!! We were on the top tier, which I recommend—a 360 degree panorama of gorgeous sights! Airport, sailboats, and familiar Boston landmarks punctuated the marvelous views. The colors of sunset from every direction were breathtaking. Thank you Boston Harbor Tours!

A cousin and I recently visited Boston and bought tickets for the sunset cruise around the harbor. The captain was nice and the tour guide was loaded full of Boston knowledge (some might call him wicked smaht.. haha). The crew helped us find a place to charge our cell phones while we sailed. The crew member at the bar was very friendly. The crew thanked us for joining and told us to enjoy our night. Very pleasant staff and fun outing. I recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you to Mass. Bay Lines!!

From start to finish, we had an excellent experience with MassBay Lines. Every staff member was polite and helpful. What a perfect team-builder, the boat had plenty of space for each party to spend quality time with their own group. The price-point makes it affordable for large groups for teams and/or families. The duration of the sunset cruise was also terrific. We were very grateful. Lastly, we also met the owner of the company prior to the boat departure, who also enhanced our team experience and delivered superb customer service to us. Thank you and we plan to be back again as repeat customers. -MP: Wired for HR.

The views from the boat and the information provided by the commentator were pleasant but the interior of the boat itself was not comfortable nor enjoyable. The chairs were rusty with cracked cushions and set up in a random fashion blocking most of the viewing windows. It looked run down and not well maintained. The bathrooms were clean though and the staff were nice. It just has the potential to be so much better for the cost.

Loved our evening on the water, all staff were friendly and helpful. Ride was comfortable with great views. We sailed in a thunderstorm but enjoyed every min. Only negative was we couldn't hear the person "narrating" describing what we saw. Was quiet and muffled where we were sitting

The sunset cruise was amazing! It was a cloudy day but somehow the sun came out enough to create a decent sunset but even without the sunset it was a great experience. Seeing the city of Boston lit up at night was amazing. The cruise was the most affordable tour on my trip and definitely worth the price.

  • 5/5 Colten D. 5 months ago on Google
We really enjoyed the cruise!! Would definitely recommend it for anyone! The captain was very informative about the history of Boston, and did not leave out any details the whole cruise!

  • 3/5 Anita S. 7 months ago on Google
Beautiful night for a cruise! The guide was very knowledgeable about history and shoreline sites. The only reason I didn’t rate higher is the boarding time wasn’t communicated so when we arrived 20 minutes before reservation time there were no seats available on any of the outside decks and standing on the upper deck was extremely crowded.

  • 4/5 Brad W. 8 months ago on Google
Sunset Cruise - Weather was bad so the cruise was delayed for 30 minutes but then we went. Plenty of opportunities for sunset pictures. While there are seats available, most people were standing to be able to take pictures. It was difficult to hear the tour guide from inside the ship, you needed to be outside on deck to hear.

Bay State Cruise are very accommodating. We needed to change the date and time of our reservations and they did it for us. We had a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed the night. This was our second cruise with them.

Had a fabulous time. Plenty of places to sit, but also moved around to see all the sites. Had a little trouble hearing speaker but we were there for the views so didn’t really matter. Highly recommend.

Give 5 star for the cruise...if I could give a 0 star for directions..they were horrible. Finally had to park and keeper asked people for directions.

One of the best harbor cruises I’ve taken! Great service. Efficient boarding process. I love how we got to watch the canon go off at the USS Constitution! Very special in Boston.

  • 4/5 Brenda N. 4 years ago on Google
Had a wonderful harbor tour on the Northern Lights. It was nice to be able to sit or take photographs from where ever you wanted. I expected commentary on the sections of the city and the structures you were passing, e.g., the Prudential tower in the background, the Tobin Bridge, etc. Minus that, I can't complain. We booked well in advance of the day and enjoyed great weather and a perfect October sunset.

I like that the captain reminded people of the mask laws; however, when we took the ferry at Cape Cod, they said that masks must be worn at all times while on the boat, even while outside, and the captain repeatedly made this announcement. Some people on this boat were not wearing masks or socially distancing from each other, even though it was clear they didn't know each other. The cruise was informative. It would have been nice for the windows to have been cleaner for the sake of seeing better and taking better pictures, as it was cold out. There were some long gaps with no narration that we thought could have been filled. But overall, it was enjoyable.

Purchased a Groupon for the sunset cruise, the views were great and we got some really great pictures as well. It seemed to be a bit packed on the boat, they kind of squish you all together and you won't find a spot to sit unless you arrive early but we stood most of the time. The top level of the boat was too crowded to stand.
