(Translated by Google) It is a place where the main attraction is the bumps. However, there are other wild animals that can be seen in their element (especially deer), but also many bird species (peacocks are the most special). To visit with the whole family or organized groups. The price of a ticket is 8 lei / adult and 5 lei / child. For groups of minimum 10 people: 5lei / 3lei. Minusuri would be: unmodern parking, inappropriate sanitary facilities, and insufficient number of banks and tables for a stop outside the location.

From the human perspective, the zoo is beautiful, very clean and well maintained, with lots of specimens of wild animals in display and i believe they will bring some water species because they were working at some water tanks inside the zoo when we visited. Overall a beautiful place to see at any time, especially for the kids. From the animal perspective however, it's a whole different story. I believe they would give a one star rating for their accommodation. Maybe two stars because the food is good, they all looked well fed and taken care of, but in a tiny space. Anyway, it's worth seeing and i hope they will make some kind of arrangements to enlarge the living space of the animals.

We visited Zoo Brașov in January. It's not the best place to visit a zoo as many animals are inside :) however the place is very spacious and it's nice to spend a few hours here, especially with kids. Besides, the winter view is beautiful! The staff is kind and helpful.

Very sad place with depressed animals who don't have enough space and are visibly bored. Please close the zoo and give the animals away to natural reserves who will know how to properly take care of them. Edit: Your response to my review is embarrassing. I've never claimed to be a "facial expression" expert but it is very obvious an animal is bored and trapped when they start doing repetitive circles in tiny, limited spaces within the enclosure. Anyone who has watched wildlife documentaries knows that this is not an animal's natural behaviour. For the record, there is a difference between respecting the law and respecting an animal. For your credit, your PR team is very responsive. Too bad your response is poor.

I think this is the best zoo I visited in Romania. That isn't much, but it is something. The tickets are about 4 euros for adults and 2 euros for students. You can see bears, cats small and large, wild boars, wolves, deers, camels, and a few others. They have a small cake shop at the entry.

A wonderful zoo right on edge of the city and into the forest We enjoyed every moment here not just the animals the alleys were very nice as well There is a wide variety of animals and birds It is a very well managed zoo Animals are in clean cages very much taken care of This zoo is much better then the Bucharest zoo and is a must if you come to Brasov Use their website to check availability of animals The staff was very friendly Toilets were really clean Tip: come early like on 9 am as we did because it was starting to get crowded when we left The price is actually very good compared with what you get adult 20 lei child 10 lei Find all this information on their site Finally we will definitely come back next time we visit Brasov

Quite sad, although investments are being made, the style of the Zoo remains comunist with steel gates and fences everywhere. Obviously, the management has never seen modern Zoos where animals are naturally separated by humans with natural features of the ground. Because you can't just continue doing same old once you've seen what others do. One example would be Zoo Singapore which organizes night safaris based on that, but closer by examples are also Zoo Planckendael or Zoo Valencia. Also, there's no map being offered at the entrance, no predefined routes. You just wander hoping you've seen most of it. Very little space for big cats, another comunist era aspect of the Zoos in Eastern Europe.

First of all. The animals aren't treated correctly and have many injuries. The place is under construction. The Zoo feels pretty dead and desolated. Animals have little interest with spectators. The protective gates are very old, and there are many other things I wanted to explain. I'm pretty disappointed but I know they will make it better. It's just about time. The park has a good potencial. It should attract more tourists.

One of the best Zoo that I have seen in Romania. I have seen it during winter time, can't wait to visit it during summer time, when is going to be more attractive.

  • 3/5 Anna B. 9 months ago on Google • 10 reviews
The newest parts were closed. There a many signs saying not to feed the animals, but there are always people that ignore them. No staff members seen around to prevent people from feeding the animals, so maybe patrolling the territory from time to time could help. When a staff members are present people usually tend to misbehave less.

Nice place to visit with kids! Kids can see the wild animals, learn and have this experince of seeing their favorite animals so closely. Feel bad for the animals as they have to stay in a caged environment. I hope some day they will be free and enjoy their natural habitat. Fee/Ticket for adult is 20Ron and 10Ron for kids. It costs around 20-25Ron by taxi from the citi centre.

Great zoo! Plenty of animals, which have a lot of space and are treated very nice. As of summer/autumn of 2021, they were adding even more enclosures and spaces. In a year it will be an amazing visit!

A good experience, overall the garden was nice and clean. We didnt manage to see all the animals but the kids enjoyed some rare specimen we cought, leopards, monkeys, tigers, lions, bears. Compared to Bucharest Zoo is a great step forward but still far from perfect. While smaller animals look great, Big animals look a bit down, i think mostly due to lack of space or entertainment.3 white camels were locked in a very small space and the beautiful lioness seem depresed. Dear Zoo Please keep up the good work and take care of those souls.

The Zoo is very small. The cages for most of the animals are very small and neglected. It was a pity to see these animals in such conditions. Only a handful of animals were in a good shape, and many parts of the zoo were closed off. The cafe of the zoo was too small with limited options. There are better things to do in Brasov, don't waste your time here.

Brasov Zoo is a serene sanctuary, home to a diverse array of wildlife that allows visitors to engage with nature up close. Its picturesque setting against the backdrop of the Carpathian Mountains adds an extra layer of charm to the experience. The zoo's efforts in conservation and education shine through its various initiatives, promoting awareness about endangered species and their habitats. Visitors can expect to encounter a range of animals, from native Romanian species to exotic creatures from around the world. However, some enclosures might benefit from expansion or enrichment to provide more space and stimulation for the animals. Nevertheless, the dedication of the staff in caring for the animals is evident, fostering a sense of appreciation for wildlife among visitors. The Brasov Zoo offers educational programs for both children and adults, fostering a deeper understanding of biodiversity and conservation. Interactive sessions and guided tours enhance the experience, making it both informative and enjoyable. While the zoo serves as a tranquil escape for families and nature enthusiasts, continued efforts to improve enclosures and expand conservation initiatives would further elevate its impact. Overall, the Brasov Zoo provides a valuable opportunity to connect with nature and learn about the importance of wildlife conservation

I'm not a fan of zoo's but besides that, the place and animals looked really well cared. It's very nice for kids to see some real life animals.

It's a nice zoo, with some variety of animals but everytime I've visited something was under construction. Another plus/advantage is how it was designed, built as it's near the forest/mountain. Also the animals have good space in their respective gardens/courtyards. Overall is a nice experience. The lemurs are a nice and funny touch :)

I'm happy to visit Brașov every year and the zoo was on my list this time. Unfortunately I was disappointed seeing under renovation about a third of the area of the zoo. I found out that it has been renovated for more than two years and still some areas are restricted without seeing any progress. 🥺

Not a giant zoo, not exotic. Great price, animals are really close to you. I stood face to face with an ostrich.

  • 5/5 Cosmin V. 5 months ago on Google
Nice large zoo with lots of animals. You can also visit the Planetarium, but you need to get separate tickets. All the tickets can be purchased online, so you don't have to wait on the queue. The zoo is perfect for spending a nice day in the nature. There is a nearby parking, with plenty of spaces.

  • 5/5 Ioana G. 2 years ago on Google
The spot picked for this zoo is breathtaking, right at the foot of the local hills! The zoo is new, parts are still being built right now, but it is already a beautiful place to spent a couple of hours. The animals are well taken care of, with large spaces to walk around. Can't wait to be back when it's all finished!

  • 3/5 Laszlo E. 2 years ago on Google
Relatively small compared to other zoo's (ex. Tg-Mures), the variety of animals is just ok, nothing special. And worst of all: the place is under construction.

  • 5/5 Lucian S. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely place , also you can participate in the Planetarium to some nice entertaining shows. The animals are in good shape as well ! 😸

  • 3/5 Bogdan T. 7 months ago on Google
It's OK at best. The trails are not well organized, it's small and a lot of exhibits are closed/being built. It's a ZOO though so I'll give 3 stars AT BEST.

As I wandered through the zoo, the cobblestone pathways led me to an array of inviting cafes, boutique shops, and local vendors. The scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the melodies of street musicians, creating a lively ambiance that celebrated both tradition and modernity.

Nice place, it was still in reconstruction, needs more trees to have some shadow also for visitors

  • 5/5 Dianne W. 9 months ago on Google
Very nice zoo. Sadly, some areas were closed, most likely for further development. The natural environment here is extraordinary. The planetarium attached has very interesting films for all ages.

  • 3/5 Anna C. 9 months ago on Google
What is good: - beautiful area around -- mountains and lake in park very close - benches if you want to have a rest What is better to change: - it's difficult to visit zoo with baby carriage -- high hills or stairs, so parents have to be ready for efforts - some animals have poor conditions -- little space. Lion looked very bad -- thin and with problem with his back. Maybe he is very old, otherwise he must receive help immidiately

The place is cool, it has lots of animals to see and they have a lot of space to play , so this zoo doesn't look like an animal prison. I didn't get to see the parrots and fishes, some places were under construction. I enjoyed it anyway! The white lions and lemurs were my favorite! 😊

  • 4/5 Ryan E. 1 year ago on Google
Not much to say but the animals looks sad. At least my daughter enjoyed it

  • 3/5 Manuela T. 1 year ago on Google
The animals are well kept (even though I am not a fan of the concept of Zoos), with spacious habitats that allow visitors to see the animals fron different places. It is not a big zoo but it can be very interesting for kids or if you like seeing wild animals up close and have a nice walk in the nature. It is clean and the location is nice. The only minus is that the caffeteria is closed so there is no place to grab a bottle of water or something to eat. Also, when we went, there were a few locations that were still under construction (the penguin habitat, the fish and the reptile building).

  • 5/5 The S. 1 year ago on Google
The experience was amazing, me and my boyfriend enjoyed it. There was a small portion under construction, but otherwise everything was perfect. We also visited the planetarium, great experience, I recommend everyone to try. The entry tickets for the zoo are 20 lei for adults and 10 for students, older people and people with special needs. The entry tickets for the planetarium are 25 for adults and 15 for all the special cases.

  • 4/5 Valentin C. 3 years ago on Google
Great place, still some work in progress when we've visited them, adding the seals and penguins habitats. We saw Monkeys, Llamas, Wild boars, Red Panda, Albino Lions, Tigers, usual normal boring common Lions, Eagles, Donkeys, Goats and some other animals you will be discovering for yourselves. Roomy parking lot near the Zoo entrance, a small Cafe and a Planetarium. Must visit if you're in the area.

  • 5/5 Kyriosdot 3 years ago on Google
Pretty nice place where you can also strall around on the sides at the shade. Perfect for walks, yet having a habitat under construction at the moment was somewhat...disturbing. nevertheless l, if you avoid that, it s still pretty awesome

  • 1/5 Alexandru-Mihai T. 9 months ago on Google
Zoo in a very decayed state. Animal spaces are not cared at all, rusty and muddy water. The third of the zoo has been closed for renovation for more than a year. Some of the animals look in a deplorable state due to not being cared for as needed. Seeing the zoo deteriorating over the years after the pandemic gives it a sad direction for tourists and animals.

Perfect for a walk in the weekends with family and friends. Beautiful animals and well laid-out courtyard to walk through, taking advantage of elevation so you can see more of the animals. And the best thing is they are also expanding and adding more exhibits soon.
