Be carful! Make sure you know the price before hand. 4 people - bill of almost 1,000 lei. (No alcohol or deserts) We felt tricked into a very very expensive bill - the waiter suggested a plate for all that we can share different kinds of meat. The place looks nice inside, but the food was mostly disappointing! We can honestly recommend only the bread and the pork chops. The rest we fed to the stray dogs outside.

WOW ! Excellent romanian resturant . Large varity of dishes , very tasty. During the meal, we had a musical show , proffesional stuff. The only minus is that the menu is only in romanian. The smell is typical romanian pickles. Free parking. Waiting for my next time

The atmosphere is great. Also the service is, though English speakers among the staff are rare. The big bread served is one of the best breads we ever took and the pickles are very special.

One of my fav places with great Romanian food in all Romania. Atmosphere on top, with live music, with bears on the walls. Food is very delicious, especially ciorba. Their bread makes you order more and more. Mici are very delicious. But papanasi is something to come here for. Only disappointment is new hotel that is build In front of it and closes beautiful view of the mountains

Very authentic Romanian restaurant, I'd recommend the cabbage and the cheese polenta. The interior is really special old style romanian farmers, and today at 14:00 the was a band with local traditional music

Very cool local decor and many traditional food choices. Some meats are pretty dry, but other dishes are excellent.

The place is cozy and nice. There is not enough light inside to read the menu, we had phone flashlights. owners please pay attention to that. The bread is just amazing. My beef meet was a little dry. Papanasi is great.

What a wonderful restaurant. I agree with the other reviews that say the restaurant is”my favorite in all of Romania“ The menu is 10-15 pages long. Pork, Lamb Beef, Chicken, Wild Game, traditional soups, appetizers and the list goes on. A surprisingly full wine menu, from the various regions of the country. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We will definitely return.

I have been there many times but lately they went a bit lazy. Food dropped in quality, service is simply bad (nobody noticing us coming in, forgetting about cuttelry, bringing wrong orders, saying the dish is grilled while clearly cooked/reheated in a pan), and they shut the lights off briefly every time they bring a flambé order. Inside the light is a tad bit too dim. Prices do not reflect the service. In other words, if those things don't bother you, by all means, go for it. It's a nice experience, especially for foreign tourists. But if you remember this as a great place, don't revisit.

Just two stars - one for the waiter who was very nice, polite and helped us a lot and the other one for the deserts - papanasi. We had dinner along with 8 more friends so we were able to try many dishes, but none was really worth it. Very disappointed.

Good food if you would like to try something traditional. However there’s nothing special and portions are quite small and expensive. Service is ok and so is the the rustic atmosphere.

Such a good romanian food to experience in the mountains, at the edge of the forest! I personally didn't had a bread that good in my life! Was brought from the over, warm and crisp and fluffy interior! Amazing food, and the Cabin was completely authentic romanian culture. Amazing place!

It is an excellent place for a traditional romanian meal. The service, the food, and the atmosphere are absolutely wonderful. Just make sure you come hungry.

A very traditional Resturant, full of character from the animal skins on the chairs and walls to the traditional table cloths and plates everywhere. The food was excellent with homade pickles to.accompany it. The bread is made in house and deserves a special mention.

We had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE at this restaurant. From the moment you walk into the restaurant you greeted by friendly staff wearing traditional clothes which warmed my heart immediately. The decor at the restaurant takes you back in time. Then came the food! Absolutely amazing. We had salate de vinete, zacuska as an appetizer, the warm bread was probably the best bread we have ever tasted at any the restaurant. Then for the main course my husband had Mitch ( very tender meat) that came with polenta, I had sarmale(soft cabbage leaves with ground meat) were extremely delicious, our kids had “mamaliga cu brinza si smentana”. Everything tasted great. And even though we were full, we didn’t regret getting “papanasi” for dessert-super fresh, soft and not overly sweetened with jam.Our server was super friendly and nice. We had wonderful time at this place, can’t wait to go back and definitely recommend to others.

I liked it, the reviews confirm it. The ambiance, the food all are great. Professional waitstaff, but lacking real hospitality training. Despite these, I would definitely dine here again because of the atmosphere. Now what I didn't like :)) It's not that a big of a nuisance but hopefully someone from management will read this: 1. I asked if I could charge my phone and was told there is only one power outlet on the ground floor and I am welcomed to use that. One other waiter bitched on the waiter that approved me that he shouldn't offer that, because he cannot take the responsibility if it's stolen. Solution: tell the client that in case of phone being stolen they cannot take responsibility, so the client knows beforehand. 2. Put some God damn separators (mini walls) between piss stalls in the men's bathroom. That should be a law all over the country. Those stalls are way too close from one another. Also, coat hangers should be in the bathroom waiting area too (not only inside sink area -which is a great idea too, well thought out). 3. Out of 2 soap dispensers in the sink area, one was filled with hand sanitizer. FYI the soap IS a sanitizer by itself, no need to reconfigure a soap dispenser into a sanitizer dispenser. The "sanitizer" was pushed during COVID panic where SOAP wasn't readily available. Bathrooms should have stayed the same. L.E.

Great food. No English menu, And the waiter did not speak English as well. So it was a bit hard, but the food definitely compensated. Not cheap. And you can skip dessert.. the hot wine was the best I tasted.

A fantastic traditional Romanian restaurant with beautiful atmosphere. This isnt your standard restaurant and its well worth a visit

We were lured into eating here and ended up paying 100eur for a normal (nothing spectacular) 2-persons lunch. That the vibe is cozy and traditional (as in ANY other rustic restaurant) does little to rescue this from its realistic description, which is that of a tourist trap. Zero vegetarian options too, and waiters badly mannered and with very rusty English.
