Not great, not terrible. Just an average experience. Don't be fooled by the reviews on the internet; most of them are written by Romanians who love their country and do their best to promote it; in addition, in Romania we don't really have awe-inspiring castles and cathedrals, so it is understandable why someone who has never traveled to Western Europe is impressed by this church. I'm not saying that the monument is not worth a visit, I am only saying that the entire experience could be a little disappointing for someone who has seen the majestic european cathedrals. Positive points: - those who appreciate organ music (not my case) can attend the numerous concerts organized in the church - the collection of carpets - finally, money was found for the restoration of the statues on the exterior wall of the church

I do not recommend, you can’t see anything inside, not too many statues, or painting or anything for that matter so i just advise to make pictures from outside with it it’s more impressive then inside. I’ve attached some pictures that’s basically the whole thing you can see.

If you visit Brasov and ommit the Black Kirch - you 'll miss very much. You' ll miss great a lot. Gorgeous, as the city itself, impressive and breathtaking outside and inside. A real masterpiece. Great much can be told about It's history. I was impressed my It's sizes. Enormous. Outside and inside. I was walking around it several times and spent an hour or more inside. Enjoying each corner. I won't tell much, because there are moments and impressions, one has to experience oneself.

Great, solemn building. Has the feeling of a museum more than that of a church. And it is. Entrance requires a fee. Still, very much worth going inside.

Very beautiful. I didn't go inside, but the architecture outside is magnificent. The dark color of the walls is not the original color, but it's a color aquired because the pollution. As everything in Romania (when i was there) it's under repairs, but you can have a great view of this beautiful building. If you have time there's a musem, and inside the church there is a huge pipe organ and Transylvanian tapestries. You shouldn't miss this. I will have to come back:)

So simple and clear design. Unlike in France, you need to buy ticket to visit this church, which is a good way to raise money to maintain these beautiful buildings (why don't we do the same in France ?). The explanation of the church history is quite well done, in 3 languages, with some very interesting and beautiful tombstones. Coming from Bulgaria, with many Orthodox churches , the contrast is striking. The Romanian Lutheran churches are very straight forward, beautiful.

The Black Church is a must-see if you are going to Brasov. It's a big quiet place, filled with history and information. The church is built in a Gothic style and it reflects the architecture of the city. You can also go on a little "easter-egg" hunt in order to find the statue of the falling child.

A place full of history, which generates a special experience. On hot days you benefit from the cold here. Now, on Saturday evening, between 6pm and 7pm, the organ concert season opened. For information about them you can access their Web page.

Brasova is the place I regret not being able to get into. It was closed when we arrived as there was a long traffic jam on the road. but it also has a very magnificent and intriguing appearance from the outside.

The main attraction of the city, the Black Church was builded in the 14th century. The name is suposed to be after the fire that burned the city in 1689. The tickets are available in front of the main entrance (it is a nice store with souvenirs), the ticket is 15 RON for adults, 10 for retirees, students. The organ concerts are amazing!

Always a pleasure to return to the most Eastern Gothic cathedral in Europe, magnificent proof of more than seven centuries of Saxon (Sachsen to be very precise) civilization in Kronstadt~Brasov, in the South-Eastern tip of Transilvania~Siebenburgen. Beautifully restored several years ago and carefully preserved by a small but vibrant German community, proudly surviving in the heart of 2021 Romania.

Visiting the Black Church in Brasov was an awe-inspiring experience that left me utterly mesmerized. This imposing Gothic marvel, also known as Biserica Neagră, is an architectural gem nestled in the heart of the picturesque city. The Black Church's location in the heart of Brasov's historic center makes it easily accessible, and its towering spires can be seen from various vantage points around the city. Be sure to explore the charming square that surrounds it, filled with cafes and shops offering a delightful taste of Transylvanian culture. Whether you are a history enthusiast, an architecture aficionado, or simply a traveler seeking a moment of serenity, the Black Church should be at the top of your list. It's a place where the past meets the present, and where the beauty of human creativity and devotion truly shine. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this Gothic masterpiece; it's an experience you'll treasure forever.

Great historical place with information in several languages. Second time I visit the church, first time in 2007, and it have become much better information wise than previously. The 20 lei entrance fee is not a bother as it is well worth the visit.

The Black Church in Bravos Romania was awesome to see and the architecture is in the gothic style of that time. The inside was even better than the outside and is very worthy of a trip to plus the town of Bravos is a gem hidden from the busy streets of Bucharest. The Black Church is a most stop in your explanation of Romania.

A very amazing place, you need to pay a ticket in the little room in front but the church is very well kept, with a lot of sign and history, we can see it was built by the catholic, but it then became protestant, and the whole story is written there, a very beautiful place full of history... i highly recommend if you love history and you can also enjoy the beautiful town of Brasov.

A great experience! A beautiful church, a lot of history that takes you for a couple of moments back in time. A lot of German writings that impress through the meaning of it, but also through the old language used previously. Highly recommended when in Brasov to visit the church.

The early gothic architecture at its best. If you’re close to Brasov do not miss this beautiful church in the center of the old town.

The Black Church, also known as the Church of Saint Mary, is a Lutheran church in the city of Brasov, Romania. It was built by the Transylvanian Saxons. It is the largest building in the Gothic style in the country. It looks majestic! I recommend a visit!

The Black Church is okay from outside. As far as I know it has been going through renovation recently as it was surrounded by metal scaffoldings but I could see some small pieces standing to fall off the church walls. They added an entry fee to the black church to visit it's interior, which seems abnormal to me.
