The room that I booked on the website it's not what the have me. I asked reception to change the room for is and he gave us another room the linen is dirty the toilet is smelling like saurege, no foam bat or shower gel. No milk and I have paid 1200 pee night which I feel it's not worthy for what was offered to me. I'm very disappointed and be treated unfairly because I'm black woman

Great place but they struggled with hot water and keeping the rooms warm. They were accommodative with space heaters which helped. The hot water in the bathroom was maddening - it took 20 minutes to get hot. And but hot I mean mildly warm. Otherwise this place was really cool. I can't do 5 stars with the water situation though.

Conveniently located Hotel in Muldersdrift. Plenty of parking. Large pool. Nice Spanish Restaurant. Extensive garden with plenty of Lavender. Kids playground. Shower for after cycling / running. Free cold drink if you park here when doing the Cradle cycle loop.

The staff are friendly and attentive. The rooms really comfotable. I stayed upstairs. The only complaint was the steep stairs.... I am unfit and 77 and a 1/2. We where a group of old biddies who visited under the trees, so relaxing. Coffe and tee available all day. Drinks to be payed for, also within reach. A lovely 2 day holiday. Lovely rose garden.

There is absolutely no managerial or security presence after hours. What I can only assume was a private function was allowed to run rampant into the early hours of the morning. With drunken people screaming and banging on our doors. It felt unsafe. Worst accommodation experience I have had in a long time. The number available on the website just rings. Unacceptable.

This is a horrible unhygienic and outdated venue that needs shutting down. The rooms have a damp dog smell. The beds are broken. The breakfast is 00000star. Imagine not having water from day one. The whole wedding party had no water to shower. The blamed it on the council whereas it was the pumps that were broken. The owner has no pride. Do not stay at the venue. You will get sick. The minister of tourism should shut this place down manageresswere unhelpful and could not be bothered. This place has to close down.

The pool is green, the water features were dirty. Their FB page advertises cocktails. We tried to order and we’re told there are no cocktails available. We booked an overnight stay. The hotel was full of teenagers attending their matric farewell. We had to leave due to the noise and kids smoking weed right outside our room. We had to move our car due to someone revving theirs in the parking lot and fear that our car could get damaged. Lots of kids in the parking lot. The hotel should rather not have taken other bookings for the night. Our stay included dinner. Ordered a chorizo starter. It was definitely not chorizo. The manager on duty was very accommodating and tried to be helpful. He offered us a free night of our choosing. However it’s a big NO from us. We won’t be back ever. The worst experience we have ever had.

Beautiful place it's so serene. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Thando is a gem she was running up and down making sure my sister was well taken care of on her wedding day. She is a star and represented valverde well.

I had my wedding at Valverde in November 2018. From Viewing the venue, to planning the wedding, arranging the Decor and Flowers with Nerina to the actual day of the wedding, it was amazing and stress free. I had stayed at Valverde from the Thursday to leaving on Sunday. The stay was good, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing! Friday night most of my guests had checked in and we spoilt them with Burger night which was arranged with JP and the kitchen. Yes we had almost emptied their bar out so JP had to run around the next morning to buy more booze. The day of the wedding was amazing, the decor was amazing, the food was amazing and the staff super helpful and friendly. Beautiful Venue for Weddings and any other celebrations! To this day, most of my guests cannot stop talking about the wedding and the venue. I look forward to visiting on Fathers Day! Will review again after fathers day.

They really have good service and the staff is so welcoming. Loved the service but the rooms have very dangerous decorations. You need a helmet to sleep in those rooms. I get the concept of having a rustic feel, but there is too many pointy edges that could seriously injure someone and ruin a holiday. When we had breakfast, it felt like I was back in boarding school. The menu needs to be relooked and preferably use fresh ingredients. I know you can do better. Furthermore, the day visitors that come to the wedding ceremonies can really interrupt the guests in their rooms by loittering near the windows, doors, taking pictures and removing the garden furniture which is irritating. You need to supervise your access control. All in all, it was a great experience.

Great place to start your morning road or MTB rides. There is an entrance fee, however the full value can be used for a coffee or snack after your ride. There is also sitting space to relax. Safe, friendly and convenient.

The food was terrible to put in words .at the wedding .How do you serve chicken backs and uncooked potato bake and raw meat on the spit bluntly put how do you mess up someone's menu for a wedding Breakfast was one the better they keep on running out of food plates bread and the quiche was burned .No supervisor on duty

We were not all too satisfied with our stay. Upon entering the hotel upper floor (accessed via the exterior stairs), it felt like walking into a school hostel with a narrow hallway and very cheap looking doors. The room we've booked which is advertised as a studio with a double bed turned out to be two single beds put together with a fitted sheet. The one side of the "double" bed had an electric blanket and the other side not. The fitted sheet had a small whole burnt into it. The flat sheet was torn a bit. The curtains were dirty. The bathroom needs quite a bit attention. The shower door falls off it's rails, the base of the shower is sealed very sloppily and has no shower drain cover, the towel rail is loose and the toothbrush tumbler holder falls off the wall. Hot water takes very very long (must have been 5 minutes of running water) to reach the taps, you start to wonder if hot water is available at all. Despite all and the initial disgust, the bedding was clean, fresh and comfortable and we had a good rest. It was quiet noting also that only two rooms were booked out for the evening. The breakfast and coffee was not too bad. In my view I have paid too much for what we got.

You can see that the rooms and facilities have been neglected from the last time I was there, but the staff are very friendly and the location is great. Breakfast was disappointing.....

Water was very cold, and the restaurant was closed before dinner time. We booked a 2 night stay and this was not a hoilday at all for us, my family and i didn't enjoy this hotel. We had to drive so far for a restaurant.

Spent Saturday night at the hotel. Was made to feel very welcome. Nobert took great care of us at every station: reception, restaurant and coffee station for cyclists.. very busy man always with a smile on his face. Had the pleasure of being treated by Memory at the Spa. I have had many massages but this one truly was exceptional. She managed to get rid of every knot in my back and her foot massage.. sublime!!

Awesome staff. Brilliant food. Phenomenal facilities. Ran out of ice cream for milkshakes so the kids where a bit disappointed and 1 of the outdoor chairs was broken.

One nice picture on a website, guess this will be a learning curve for me, don't know how the rest of the accomodation looks like, but we were handed something that felt like an outroom

We spent 3 nights there. I expected more really. The bathrooms are very old and not cleaned well grouting etc shower oh no. We had a rough experience. I got there on a Monday was told the restaurant is not open. No delivery and nothing near by. I was furious with two kids what am I to do. The chef came in and made pizza. We had no hot water for the duration of our stay. We arrived cold and wet no hot water no staff in sight no receptionist. They offered me other rooms the next day needless to say the other rooms were dark dingy and small. We opted to stay in the room we had and shower in another room on the otherside of hotel. Which was renovated. The breakfast was al la carte no menu. Every day something was missing bacon or mushrooms etc. Overall the linen was clean and beds were lovely food was amazing and the gardens are lovely. The chef honestly saved the stay I was ready to go home. Proni and Michael were great. Really tried to help and keep us happy. Was a lot of money to spend with such challenges. Definitely needs attention to detail, and more care with guests.

I honestly enjoyed my stay, even though it was for jst a short while. This place offers wonderfully lush and beautiful gardens, especially if you're into outdoor/garden events, with that being said, I've seen that there's also a few, well decorated, halls for indoor events as well.

Lovely spot to spend a night, out of Joburg. We had dinner at one of the country restaurants closeby, and didn't want to drive back, so was just perfect. We had issue with electricity in the room, but the reception sorted it out quickly, as soon as we reported it.

The owner is always present, the team are friendly and are willing to assist with anything. If there is anything required they will go over and above to meet that request! It is tranquil and perfect for any function or just a weekend escape.

Possibly the best place to start and finish a ride. Breakfast bun and a coke is the perfect end to a long ride around the cradle.

We held our event at Valverde and we’re very impressed with the helpful service by JP and his team. They accommodated all our requests to ensure we had a successful event. The venue was clean, food delicious and ample facilities for out guests. We’ll definitely be back for more events and also to make use of the amazing accommodation on offer.

I gave it two stars only because its a beautiful place. But as a Sunday lunch destination, it's a waste of money. There's no kids menu, the service is poor, the menu, extremely limited, and of that limited menu the food is below average. The steak orders were confused (everyone got well done meat), the cut, fatty, the accompanying chips, underfried. Looks like a promising wedding venue, but based on a simple Sunday lunch, the venue is not up to scratch, food and service wise.

This started out as a promising visit, with great pre-lunch service from the owner. Very accomodating. We arrived for lunch. Lovely gardens. Great table under the trees, set up, Reserved sign and all. We were happy, so far so good. Everything was planned as expected. Drinks order was good. Our helpful server did her best at first. But she was one person serving our table of 11, plus other tables (so yes we tipped well considering her circumstances). We went with a few seafood paellas shared as starters. It was very tasty and all enjoyed it, albeit a long wait, which was expected. But then we ordered mains, which took over an hour to arrive. Most asked for the rump steak, some orders were wrong, causing an even further delay. One person ordered pizza. Her food was long done and others were still waiting. It tasted okay due to the sauce, and it was not tough. BUT.. some pieces were about 30% fat and none of us got the temperatures we asked for. ALL the steaks were over done and some steaks looked like it was prepared and then cut in half, and split over 2 plates. There was a little chips too. I ordered a side of mushroom sauce, and got what looked like a table spoon of sauce. The crockery was dirty. So some guests chose not to eat further, worrying about hygiene so we packed it in for our pets... The burgers on the other hand were excellent value for money and those 2 guests were very happy. I really can't understand why the terrible service, it was not busy. Yet our server was not a happy one. We expected so much more. I'm really sad about this awkward experience. Why I gave it a 3* - the scenery is beautiful and so peaceful. Lovely fresh air. And our guests were patient. This place has huge potential. Perhaps what they need is better quality control. Or not to offer public lunches when there's few bookings... *UPDATE* The caring owner has been in touch, as expected. Turns out their chef took ill and the kitchen was left in the hands of a chef-in-training. He's invited us to visit and enjoy a meal at their Leaping Frog branch. Looking forward to a new experience and meeting him. Will post another update after that.
