The waitresses could do so with a customer service refresher course. They seem lost most of the time. The food is generally good and tasty. However the chicken tacos is very very dry and they should not serve it all. The beetroot salad was amazing. The Sirloin steak was also good with tasty salted fries.

We attended Sunday Buffet. The restaurant chef was amazing, catered to a vegan request. The rest of the staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our Sunday lunch and time exploring the venue. Look forward to having our functions at the venue.

Attended a meeting for 3 days in one of the conference rooms. Conference facilities are dated - projectors are old and the WiFi kept dropping connection. The toilets in the area that we used definitely needs attention. The food served on all 3 days was practically the same. I didn’t stay at the venue so I can’t comment on the rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Oh wow firstly I felt as if the stuff isn't helpful. When I did my booking I specifically mentioned that I'm looking for baby pools for the kids... when I got there I was told the first pool isn't where I booked had to walk all the way to reception and the other restaurant just to be told to go back where I was. Waited an hour for food to be ready. The pool has no life guide. The place get full I wouldn't recommend it for kids, adults smoke everywhere

The best Christmas lunch ever. Unfortunately it was raining. The service was excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented and I was convinced that I was not going to eat again for the next few days

My husband took me away for my birthday. It was such an incredible experience! We arrived early, had breakfast, walked the grounds, had massages, had lunch and then came home! The staff were so friendly, the food was amazing (compliments to the chef), the massage was really good (I’ve studied massage and am very particular when it comes to massage), the grounds are so pretty and well kept and it really was great value for money. It was an overall great experience! Thank you!

We attended a wedding on the 9th of September at Avianto and after the party and dinner , the entire community of guests fell sick with food poisoning and tested positive for typhoid fever . It was the worst experience of my life. Even the bride and groom tested positive for typhoid fever . On top of it all , I had to pay two nights in advance, non-reimbursable and my room didn’t even have a hair dryer in it .

It is summer and I am totally unfit. Decided to walk with my dog, Zeus. Avian to is close by and dogs are welcome. The people from the entrance were professional and friendly. The entrance fee is R40 per person. Backpack on my back with water and naartjies, we start the trail. Obviously I did the 2.5km walk. The trails were clearly marked and easy to follow. The path is also easy to follow. I must say I was very happy when I saw the "1km " mark. Would suggest for summer months remember you sunscreen. I was very glad when I saw my car. I would definitely go back to do the longer trail as well. Will just do a few shorter once. There is also a restaurant where you can eat at the clubhouse.

Avianto is just breathtaking in a tranquil setting. Your all in one venue where you could have conferences- weddings - all types of functions - go for a meal or just book into the hotel for a getaway. We hosted several business conferences and was never disappointed. In between meals we were served with snacks and a constant supply of hot drinks juice and water. Restaurant service is top notch with friendly staff. Hotel has spacious bedrooms, huge bath tub with a separate shower and separate toilet and comes with complimentary toiletries tea coffee milk kettle, Extra blankets and heater.

Beautiful setting. The venue was perfect except for the gravel / stones which aren't great when you're wearing your best shoes that cost a fortune and have older person people at the function. The stairs are difficult for less abled to navigate and as for the wheelchair ramp....people must be feeling that it's the last ride on Earth. The wedding was perfect. Attentive waiters, delicious food, pleasing decor and wonderful hosts. Serving tea and dessert outside was a good choice.

My family and I had an amazing picnic at Avianto. The set up was stunning and the spot so serene. Received a delicious picnic basket, filled with loads of food and healthy snacks, portioned perfectly for the occasion. Tumi our waitress, gave us top service on the go. Ultimate relaxation and an unforgettable afternoon.

Secluded location in muldersdrift. Rooms and venue ideally suited for weddings and guests. TV is awkwardly placed in the Victorian feel interior and buildings with Spanish like architecture. Not much to do on the premises except massage and hiking trail-which was under construction during the visit. The food here is the star of the show. Chef easily accommodates existing meals to preferred dietary requirements. Gardens are extremely well kept, romantic walks is a must. Nice for loved up shot left weekend with room service.

Helen explained due to high staff turnover as a result of the Covid lockdown has culminated in a largely untrained staff compliment. She took every issue listed here to heart and committed to use this review as a training experience. Helen also asked me to list what worked well. And fair enough, both sides of the coin needs to be listed. The massage was AMAZING! Really best we've ever had. The ladies we curious and VERY professional. I would highly recommend it. For the light lunch that comes with the package, my wife and I both chose the curry chicken. It was awesome. It was tasty, spicy as expected. I would be proud to make a curry chicken that nice. I also need to add, when we complained about the messed up bookings, we were given a bottle of red wine, and we were not charged for the Irish Coffee. Once upon a time Avianto may have been a posh place. Today it is let down by the staff, and a general sense of mismanagement seems to be the order of the day. Loose cables falling from the waiting room wall. The reception team messed up the booking twice. On the day of our booking we found we were double booked and had to leave to return 2 weeks later. On the day of the couples massage, the masseuse kept coughing over me while I was getting a massage. COVID people!! The restaurant staff who out numbered guests 5 to 1 was apathetic about service. No drink menus were given, even on request. Tables were in a shocking condition despite being a quiet afternoon. The finale was when I first found a plastic wrapper and later a used toothpick on my Irish Coffee. I guess my class wasn't even washed. Based on all the 1-star reviews complaining about the bad service, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that had this bad experience. One is never sure if you are overly critical.

A really great venue overall, one of the few places I'm definitely going to keep visiting. It's especially beautiful when the flowers are blooming, there are different kinds all over the venue. There's a sufficient variety of facilities to host different kinds of events or celebrations.

Beautiful venue for weddings, year end functions and conferences. Lush, green lawns, soothing rivers and immaculate gardens. The venue is also popular amongst hikers and mountain bikers as they have trails to suit every level of experience. My favourite part about the venue is that it is pet friendly and the dogs are most welcome on the trails on leash. We did the 5km hike at R40 per person which was flat terrain ideal for novices or those with physical limitations. The walk can get quite sunny though so be sure to pack in sunblock and enough water.

What a stunning location!! We stayed there 2 nights to attend a friends wedding. I cannot say enough about this place. It looks like a piece of Tuscany in Muldersdrift. The buildings, tree's, river, views, swimming pool! At no point it felt overcrowded, although it was a busy weekend with other guests too. The staff is very friendly and professional and at no time during our stay we ever 'needed' or had to ask for something. They operate in the background and make sure all your needs are met before you even have to ask! Thank you to Louise and her team for a most memorable weekend stay at this absolutely stunning venue!!

We recently had our wedding at Avianto! We had huge dreams and a completely custom wedding in mind. Not only did Avianto deliver but they absolutely out did any expectations we had. The food was phenomenal, a unique and custom menu, designed by their head Chef. The decor and venue was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined! They brought our dream wedding to life and will be a day we will never forget!

We had a "Celebration of Life" for a very special person. It was an outstanding day. The arrangements and planning were done to perfection, the decor was stylishly and elegant, the staff were super efficient, the food was really top notch and everyone appreciated the effort put in to make this a special day for everyone. Highly recommended! And really a 5-Star experience

We attended a wedding at Avianto between a South-African groom and Canadian bride. What a lovely place, with its Italian vibe. The food was celestial. If I could turn the clock back, I'd have a second round of everything... :-) Perfect spots on the premises for wedding puctures. The staff was friendly and helpful too.

Great venue.... But the staff employed as waiters don't seem to know that they doing nor their function.

Been coming here for a bit. Place looks amazing but the only drawback is the waitresses attitude becoming a bit shabby. Was served stale food one of my teas and thats not expectes of such a place. Will still come back but hopefully this is not a boiling frog

Poor service. Waited for about 20 minutes with no service. 4 waiters looked at us, I tried to call them over, they ignored me. I went to reception to ask for service. They said a waiter work come help. 10 minutes later, no help. Eventually I spoke to a I manged to stop a waiter, I asked him very politely if we could have a table, he ignored me.

Its our second time here. Its definitely the only venue in Muldersdrift that is still decent and well maintained.

The floors heating had been left on in the rooms on a boiling hot day. The aircons didn't work. No porters to be seen to assist with luggage. Otherwise it is a magical place for a wedding.

We had lunch at Cafe Cielo with friends on the Sunday 20th June. It's so lovely at Avianto it feels like you are some where else. The food was delicious, the service was perfect. The whole place is just amazing. Nice trails to walk or run or mountain biking. Will always go back. I always leave Avianto feeling relaxed and refreshed, without even having a massage 😊 it is in a class of its own. Fond memories always of Avianto.

This is a beautiful, serene venue where one can break away from the city to relax in the sculptured gardens and environment. Book a picnic at the river or to walk or cycle on one of the tracks. It offers fine dining in beautiful restaurants and is a great venue for birthdays, weddings and business gatherings. Every time I come here I again realize that it is one of the best venues in Johannesburg.

We booked a room for a birthday lunch. The food was good, but they forgot to make and bring this kids' meals along with two other guest meals....one expects kids to get their meals before the adults...and when they write down your orders how do they go missing? We told the manager Gideon & co-ordinator Chris about the problems of the food and also paying for 2 dedicated waiters which we had to call and find more than once to order drinks and clear the table....nothing changed. I think one get get much better value for money elsewhere.

Avianto, The Best place to be for any of your Occasions, Had the most beautiful Time and experience in Oct 2nd with my wife for our Wedding Anniversary Package. The Hospitality was great! Money well Spent! My wife did a semi - Birthday Suprise Set up at our Upgraded Suite for me and all the Staff present on that very Day made it happen especially Millicent. I just want to come out here and say Thank you. We are definitely coming back to Avianto.

I expected a lot more I ordered the steak with fettuccine and mushrooms pasta. It was so small and it arrived in a soup bowl, not in a pasta dish. I thought it was a starter. For R155.00. Do not order that. I received a nice cold beer only to pour it into a hot glass. After everyone had finished eating the table was not cleared. It was only cleared when we left. The singer was very good. We won't be going back in a hurry.

We expected the best for a 5 Star resort, we got 1 star service and accommodation. Staff was very arrogant. The rooms for our 3 day stay for our family wedding, The rooms dimly lit for dressing for our functions. We all came back home with upset stomachs. The kitchen were our food was prepared was filthy. OUR Garlands were delivered at the hotel and was stolen. Nobody even tried too find it. No customer service.

Important Items that were needed for the wedding were lost and staff had no idea what happened to them. It was a real disappointment for the bride and the family after all the money that was spent and not getting the service that was promised.
