I had a truly remarkable experience at this restaurant, indulging in the most authentic Szechuan cuisine. Despite the slightly mismatched decoration and the average cabbage, everything else surpassed my expectations. The Chongqing boiling pot with duck blood, ham, and tripe was undeniably fantastic, bursting with flavors that tantalized my taste buds. However, if you have a medium to low spice tolerance, I would caution against the intense level of heat. The pickled vegetables, while not particularly extraordinary, still added a pleasant touch to the meal. The Dan Dan noodles, although a bit on the sweet side due to the sesame sauce, although I must warn, the spicy oil sinks to the bottom. The sliced beef with numb peppers provided a unique experience, leaving a tingly sensation in my mouth. Overall, the food truly shone and showcased the restaurant's dedication to authentic flavors. If you're seeking a culinary adventure, this place is worth a visit.

I had remarkable meals last year at this restaurant. You can smell the authenticity of Sichuan as soon as you entered the small diner with the distinct aroma. Then it all changed since I’d say summer, the same dishes no longer taste the same (spicy but no flavor at all, the familiar aroma in the air is also gone, you can tell it’s a sort of fake ‘gourmet’). We didn’t want to give up on it and went few more times thinking we might have hit at bad time until we concluded it was consistently bad. Very disappointed, not going to return again for sure.

Been here for 5 times and I highly recommend this place as one of the best Szechuan restaurants in Boston. Offering generous portions, delicious food and great value for the price. Beware: Dishes might be too spicy for some people.

My favorite Sichuan restaurant in Brookline (which is saying something given the density of Sichuan restaurants in Brookline Village). Why Cubist Circle? I love the casual atmosphere, the slightly lower prices in comparison to other nearby places, and the quality of the food. At one point, I went there 3 consecutive weeks. Now I've been about 8 times and have never been disappointed. Strongly recommended dishes: - mashed peppers with century eggs - wontons in chili oil (红油抄手) (substantial amount of filling!) - [can't remember how it's written on the menu but think it might be called szechuan hot syle with fish] (水煮鱼) - sliced beef w/ szechuan numb peppers - black mushroom over greens (such flavorful mushrooms!) - twice cooked fish (回锅鱼) - [can't remember how it's written] Szechuan numb pepper chicken (辣子鸡) Recommended dishes - scallion pancake (葱油饼) - yu hsian eggplant (鱼香茄子) - soft tofu style with fish (essentially like 水煮鱼 but with tofu) When my vegetarian friends ask me for Chinese recommendations, I point them towards Noah's Kitchen. But in general, my favorite is definitely Cubist Circle!

I got the chance to visit the place for a hangout event with 6 friends. They did give us a round table. I don’t know if we called ahead, but you better to reserve that only round table for sure if you have a bigger party. In general, small place, tasty food. Especially the chili beef, highly recommended!

Phenomenal Szechuan Chinese food! I’ve been disappointed in most Chinese spots in Boston but this hit the spot. Tastes quite authentic, has pleasant heat that’s noticeable but not too spicy, will come back again for more. Chonqing street noodles and wontons in chili oil were nice and spicy, and extra crispy Scallion Pancakes

We had the kings dinner! Now, that is not something they offer — rather we ordered quite a few dishes. Ive been to quite a few szechuan restaurants and this is definitely one of the best. Quality ingredients and very good value.

I can honestly say that this is one of the worst restaurants I have been to. Atmosphere is aweful, prices are insanely high and the food tasted like a bucket of salt and MSG. Please do not go here.
