As
a
frequent
traveler
with
an
eye
for
luxury
and
perfection,
especially
in
top-tier
hotels,
I
had
specific
expectations
for
my
stay
at
Matild
Palace
in
Budapest.
The
hotel
boasts
many
commendable
features
but
also
several
areas
needing
improvement.
Positives:
1. Room
Quality:
The
rooms
are
spacious,
beautifully
designed,
and
provide
a
comfortable
stay.
2. Bathroom:
The
luxurious
bathroom
facilities
are
a
standout
feature.
3. Dining:
The
Spago
restaurant
offers
fantastic
culinary
experiences,
and
the
rooftop
bar
creates
a
welcoming
atmosphere.
Areas
for
Improvement:
1. Late
Checkout
Policy:
Despite
my
Gold
Elite
status,
the
hotel
was
inflexible
with
late
checkout
requests.
Being
denied
a
2
PM
checkout,
even
on
a
low-occupancy
Sunday
in
November,
was
disappointing.
2. Breakfast
Quality:
For
a
hotel
of
this
caliber,
the
breakfast
was
underwhelming.
The
Eggs
Benedict
were
dry,
fruit
options
limited,
and
the
overall
selection
did
not
meet
high-class
standards.
3. Lack
of
Amenities:
The
absence
of
a
swimming
pool
is
a
noticeable
shortfall
in
a
hotel
of
this
price
range.
4. Service:
The
arrival
experience
was
subpar.
Having
to
call
for
a
bellboy
and
wait
upon
arrival
does
not
align
with
the
expected
level
of
service.
Conclusion:
While
Matild
Palace
has
strengths,
the
negatives,
particularly
in
service
and
amenities,
outweigh
them.
For
a
hotel
positioning
itself
in
the
high-class
category,
these
aspects
should
be
impeccable.
I
hope
the
hotel
considers
adjusting
either
their
services
or
their
rates
to
reflect
the
actual
experience
offered.
As
a
loyal
Marriott
customer,
I’ll
explore
other
options
like
the
W
Hotel
on
my
next
visit,
which
has
consistently
met
my
expectations.
