The entrance of the ensuite is very difficult to spot from the street. Their sign is small and covered with graffiti and stickers. Also the door works on a acces code that you don't have at first. I didn't receive it in any email or such so I had to wait for some local to open the door for me. The staff was very polite and helpful. They explained everything in good English. The hostel has a elevator so you don't have to climb the stairs. The entrance to the apartment lobby was secured with a key card, but the card was to no use because the locking system on the door was broken. Anyone could just push the door and get inside. The apartment had another lock that worked fine although it wasn't very sturdy. We had the studio apartment which was perfectly fine, with a clean private bathroom and a small kitchen. Only the small fridge didn't quite work. Overall, for its price and location it is a very good place to stay.

It was 108$ for two nights at this hostel. Almost all pics on booking.com was just a project renders. And the reality was so sad. the room was very dark, we need to turn all the lights at 10:00 in the morning and it was not enough. dirty towels, faulty sewer, the room also had a horrible smell of freshener, and it is very individual, so “nothing” is better than a smelly freshener..

Maverick Ensuites was an amazing place to stay. The staff is all very friendly, Tibor was especially helpful with plenty of good advice when we arrived. The rooms were clean and the central location allowed us to walk to wherever we wanted to go. Would definitely visit again.

Decent private rooms! Only problem was a very sketchy lady inside of the baggage storage closet standing there in the dark on her phone. We told the front desk and they seem to have gotten it sorted out.

Our private room was small but had an excellent view & antique furniture. The feel was more of a hotel than a hostel. Towels are free, blackout window blinds meant we could sleep in very well after a night out at Instant Kogas. Location is alright for going over to Buda side but it’s better being right in the heart of Pest in the Jewish District.

Maverick Hostel & Ensuite's exceed my expectations! I checked in very late but reception was ready to welcome me and was very friendly! When I got to my room I was more than happy! I booked a private double room with a private bathroom. The room and washroom were both large and in very good condition. It also had AC, a fridge and electric curtains. It was very quiet, comfortable and I really enjoyed my stay. Location was perfect and so close to everything. I would recommend Maverick Hostel & Ensuites and would definitely stay again.

Absolutely love this place. Staff was nice and friendly. Saci who suggested to book the thermal baths online for me and I was so glad she did! The thermal baths had a long queue but thanks to Saci, I was able to skip the line. This please also did my wash for €10 and I just had to leave my wash with reception and it was done by the evening. The beds were soft and very comfortable as well. Right in the city center so I was able to walk to most places. I definitely recommend this place if you are on a budget/ solo traveler.

Very nice and clean hostel, i am very happy with the place that is beautiful ! The room was nice and big, i had a normal bed (not bunk bed, you can ask for it) . The bathroom was super nice and clean. Ok there was noise from the street, but i always have earplugs for hostels and i slept very well in my single bed! They have very nice and big common areas, big kitchen with free tea and coffee (and good material for doing so, i saw a toaster and a french press!) Everything looked new and well taken care of. Very clean. The luggage room has a security door only the staff can unlock. I met 3 différent people for the staff, and all of thèm seemed happy. So i really think it's a good place. I will go again, it's Honestly a very good quality hostel, i am impressed!

Very clean, this is the most important thing about this hostel. Amazing localization, 30 meters from Ferenciek Tere (M3) underground. The receptionist was very kind and showed me some nice places to visit. Clean beds, towels and room. The kitchen I didn't use but was very complete. The only recommendation would be a locker on the room only

Super location, comfy beds (and no bunks!). All of the staff was awesome, especially Benjamin (I believe that was his name) who led the wine tasting event. Seemed to attract a “good crowd” (not a party hostel) which was exactly what I was looking for. Would certainly stay again.

I had an amazing stay in this hostel. It’s not exactly located where Google indicates you!! It’s on the Main Street next to Lidl. Rooms are clean, and staff is very friendly and helpful. Big thank you to Tibor for all his recommendations and to the lovely Nora, nicest night shift receptionist ♥️ The building where this hostel is located is incredible 🤩

For a hostel it was exceptionally nice. The rooms did get a bit hot and stuffy at night. It's a good use of the space in a beautiful building. It wasn't very quiet.

Had a great stay here for a week in Budapest. Hostel was always clean, location was great. All staff was friendly and helpful and hosted fun social events, especially Benjamin's wine tastings, which were great for meeting other people traveling. Would definitely stay again!

Great property and lovely staff. The facility was clean, common rooms and kitchen were a good addition. Will return to Maverick when visiting Budapest again.

Returning to Budapest now as a travel writer for Girl Takes Mundo, I certainly came with a different lens as I like staying in a variety of accommodation options to offer my readers. This is a lovely hostel option for those in Budapest. Friendly staff, exceptionally clean and a short walk away to the Jewish quarter and top city attractions. Only one downside, if traveling in summer, do note that rooms do not offer air con and despite having fans, the rooms don’t cool down enough which for me, made it difficult to fall asleep.

Did not sleep well here at all. There is no privacy in the room, it's not expensive or difficult to put up some sheets or curtains. Very poor effort. It's like sharing a room with your siblings all over again. Very thin walls too so the next door group kept us awake It's supposed to be quiet after 10pm but they all late check in, as a result I was woken by 2am check ins. The socket next to my bed didn't work, neither did the lamp. The pillow is dreadful. The bed is ok. Window didn't close fully and no curtains so sunrise woke me up. Excellent kitchen, comfortable lounge areas, 3 showers & 1 bathroom. All cleaned reasonably well. Check in was easy enough, she is very friendly. The building is absolutely beautiful. The entrance is next to PIZZA ME and a money exchange/kebab store. Supermarkets nearby. Metro & tram nearby. It is in an excellent location. It was cheap and actually very very good value, I just didn't sleep well so basing the review on my experience If you like privacy and quiet then maybe give this one a swerve

Never unimpressed by this place! Great location, clean, clean, clean... Always a delight to stay here... Highly recommended. Easy walk to everything you need, want, and stumble upon.

Choose bedroom of six of female dormitory. There are 2 lower-upper bunkbed and 2 single bed. A strange composition. The room looks like an apartment. The bathroom is ensuite. It was clean, and the hot water is working. The minus is the sound of water heater, it’s little bit too loud. The location is in front of halte bus, but it’s a little bit tricky in google maps because sometime you will be arranged by google to the other side of building, which is the door is sealed. Overall is okay. The laundry is clean but the price a little bit pricey.

An excellent place to stay in Budapest! Great location with clean, new rooms/beds, cosy common room, kitchen area and lovely staff! Only issues/points: The showers: specifically, the shower head wall holder - they don’t seem to be the right fit to angle the shower head at your body, so it partially points at the wall. No privacy curtains for each bunk - bring an eye mask. No lockers: only one small lockable drawer per bunk (bring a padlock) Shout out to Tibor who helped us change rooms due to an unfortunate encounter with a loud snorer 🤣😅

Lovely hostels located in the centre of Budapest, close to the underground station and many supermarkets. The view from my spacious female dorm was absolutely beautiful! The staff is always smiling, it is obvious they like welcoming people, which is not the case with other hostels. The two things to improve is the heater, because it was not warm enough in the dorm and have a bin in the bathroom, because the one in the dorm is not enough

The location was nice and everything was close by . The rooms were clean and the kitchen had all the required amenities. The staff at the reception were very welcoming and helpful. Especially Ms. Shaki who had helped us with all our queries as we were new to the city .she was very patient and polite and was extremely helpful.

Location is fantastic. 11 min walk from the airport shuttle bus and close to a lot of places. A lidl is just next doors. It was clean and the staff were helpful. There's a kitchen and a small common area. The view from our window was awesome!

Very good location for an affordable price. It’s only 10-30 min walk to all sight seeing places. Wonderful! My only complain is that the heater doesn’t work in the room/ lounge area so it’s quite cold inside the hostel. As well as the toilet can be dirty sometime. Otherwise overall is a good stay.

The heating is a huge issue here, it’s turned off most of the time, I have to ask for it multiple times during a day and it makes me tired! Turn it on on a continuous basis, it’s minus degrees outside!!! It is a one, huge cold CAWE, do not come here people!!!! Update on the 13. January: Take care folks!!! A guy just stole 50€ out of my jacket I have left in my room ( number 203 )! If you are alone, you are left alone!!!

Had a great stay here. Perfect location for my needs and it was clean, modern and comfortable. Check in was done quickly, as was the check out. I expected a pretty small room considering the price I paid, but was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was quite spacious! For those who need to use public transportation, there are several options in the nearby area. Those who prefer who walk will appreciate the fact that it is centrally located with most of the tourist hotspots reachable within minutes. There are plenty of shops, eateries and pubs in the area, and if you prefer to self-cater, there's a Lidl just a few steps from the main entrance. All in all I was very satisfied with my stay, and I would not hesitate to stay here again for my next visit to Budapest.

Great hostel! The location is awesome, it's right in the center. They have dorms as well but we stayed in a private room that had its own bathroom and a shared kitchen very close to our room, which was very nice. The staff was super nice and helpful :)

Located in a very prime location, all the historic places are close by to this hostel. The staff here are very friendly and the reception is active 24/7. Rooms very clean and got it for a very reasonable price. Stayed here for 2 nites and no complaints what so ever. I felt if the hostel provides breakfast it will be still good for travelers like me. Integrated common kitchen is a good idea thou but it was messy.

Good for a hostel maybe but some things not so great. Location is prime though. Hard beds, silly pillows and cloged drain in the shower. Hostel housed in an impressive but worn building.

Great hostel. Nice price , great service at reception. I had to cancel my last day of visit since I felt I'll and they cancelled it without a problem and gave me money back. Free activities here as well. Only remark the tee bags are not sustainable 🙈.

good location, near bus and train station, close to the main streets and Jewish area. the room is what you need, good bed and shower, clean towels and tv. Staff is friendly and helpful.

+ Perfectly located in the center. + Kind and welcoming staff. + Very clean. + You can leave your luggage in a safe space even before and after checkin/checkout to continue explore the city. + Possibilities to lock your stuff in the room (need to bring a small lock). - may be a tiny bit noisy at night (street outside) depending on the room you get. So have some oropax if you like. Personally didnt need them tho. I payed 20€ (for one person) per night in a shared 4 bed room. Interior simplistic and practical. Felt very safe there. Would not only recommend it but also visit again.

I like to say the stuff is amazing room was little bit missinformed, third floor no AC but the frontdesk stuff was great and solved are problem quickly. We arrived the hottest day was 105 F . Originally I was given 4 stars but the stuff quick respond and kindness throw up another one . Price always reflecting the comfort if you want more pay more . Only thing you guys need to update about AC or ceiling fan available the different rooms.

Great hostel! It was more like a hotel. I was on the 2nd floor and lit was like a mini apartment. I was upgraded to a four bed dorm which was nice. You could be social in the kitchen if you wanted or you could do so in the lobby. But you could also be alone if you wanted to. We did a free wine tasting one night with Benjamin and it was amazing! He was absolutely fantastic and it was great hanging out with a local :) the staff were all amazing! Location is great!!

You get what you pay for. It’s clean, pretty city center, comfortable and safe. The staff are very nice too. I loved my stay there

  • 5/5 Nikki Michelle S. 1 year ago on Google
The room was lovely and well appointed. Had the best night’s sleep on my trip in the vintage double room 401. The fact that my room faced a quiet street, and there were blackout curtains meant I slept deeply and well. The complimentary wine was a nice surprise. Would happily stay here again. Do ask for a quiet room as some face a busy street. There is a lift in this beautiful building but you will have to manage a few steps to get to it.

My first time in hostel and the best time I ever. Staff here is so kind and helpful they helped us right from coffee making to the places to visit in Budapest. Very clean, well organised and comfortable hostel. Its located right opposite one f the metro stations whicjh makes it easier to commute anywhere within the city. Again the best budget place to stay in Budapest. For all who lrefer hotels, i would suggest you to try staying here while in Budapest!

The best hostel I have ever been! We were lucky to join a Wine Taste in the living room and it was super funny, thank you for everything and specially to Vicki and Benjamin. If we come back to Budapest, for sure we will come to your hostel again!

We loved out stay at this hostel! The staff was really friendly and the whole place was overall very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. There were several bathrooms with showers on our floor so you never had to wait long to get in. The bathrooms were also clean and pretty modern. We also had a kitchen on our floor which we used daily, however, there were not enough dishes and silverware so we usually had to share plates or knives. The location of this hostel ist perfect. It takes less than 15 minutes to get to the city center by foot and it’s only 2 minutes away from Elisabeth Bridge. There is also a grocery store, 2 bakery’s, a Starbucks and multiple restaurants in the same building.

Good hostel for solo tourists. Hostel staff is very friendly and they are ready to provide all the necessary information for sight seeing and other things. This group has a WhatsApp group and they organise many social events among the tourists. So even if you are alone you may find other people from the hostel if you are looking for travel companions.
