The best thing about the hotel is the location, is perfect for tourists, you have the metro, tram, bus stop round the corner and also the international railway station 100m down the road. Breakfast is very good, big variety and everything fresh. The only problem is room service, we had to ask for clean towels, the soap and shower gel was nearly empty when we checked in, they didn't clean the room or toilet for the whole 5 days we stayed there and also we had to ask them to tide up the beds. If they improve their service it will be a great hotel to stay at and to fully enjoy your holiday 😊

Very tourist friendly. The Hotel has a very good access to public transportation and it is centrally located too. Our room was big, clean, and our bed was very comfortable. Also, Breakfast was included in our booking, and they offer a wide variety of food. Really enjoyed our stay

Unluckily, I came at a time when all the amenities were closed. The jacuzzi, the pool, room service, the restaurant all closed. However, this did not ruin the hotel for me. The small bar is a perfect hotel bar replete with knowledgeable genial staff, excellent food, and a good atmosphere. I really enjoyed this bar. I am looking forward to returning to this hotel when everything is open. I would like to see updated bathrooms and a smart tv in the room, but it would be an added perk. The soaps in the bathroom smelled cheap and too potent. Also the room was stifling hot and I was not able to control that. The breakfast buffet was very underwhelming. The hot food served consisted of scrambled eggs, sausages and beans. No bacon, omelette bar, waffle maker, cheese board… all the things which are fairly standard now at a 4 star hotel. Also free or even discounted parking in the garage would be appreciated. Two days of parking cost me almost 30€. Overall, a solid hotel.

The rooms are unbelievable hot. The air con does not work. They let you leave the aircon on when you leave the room but when the cleaners comes in to clean it they turn it off!! The so called ‘VIP’ was clean and refurbished, but the view outside was prison like, the sun never shines down there is its always dark. On top of that if you are on the first floor your windows at on the level with the ground… so leaving a window open at night or when you are out of the room is impossible as someone could easily just walk into your room through it. Staff is nice and breakfast is excellent, dining hall is very big so never an issue getting a table. Car park is also very convenient.

I was saying here with business , we usually book the Hilton . However this has really outshined itself . It's a really nice hotel , the decore is very vintage which I like . The breakfast was really nice , they actually have decent size squash glasses which is great it means you don't have to get up 1000x for drinks 👍. The rooms are huge and clean . Bathrooms are also very nice !

I wanted to give this hotel 5 stars but couldn't. A few great things about this place are the location, breakfast, rooms which are clean and nice. The only issue would be the fact that we had to pay extra at the end without further notice. It's about some tax for foreigners. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

The wifi is terrible. I booked a weeks stay here to work during the day and enjoy Budapest in the evening. The wifi goes down several times an hour 24/7. Many guests have complained and the front desk just gives you excuses. If you need reliable wifi don’t stay here. I’ve stayed at many 3 & 4 star European hotels and never had this issue.

phone in the rooms not working, pool/jacuzzi not operating, Chlorine water in the shower ( maybe it's like that everywhere in Budapest) nice and friendly staff, but not really worth its price. Although a good and comfortable stay. Fridges were dirty.

The first thing that I noticed in Budapest after having visited other European countries is that most of the buildings exterior look old and they need extensive repair and definitely a fresh coat of paint. The same is with this hotel. However the interiors are quite slick and posh except the carpets in the corridors which have faded and is a turn off. They need to be changed. The hotel stay was very enjoyable, starting from the check-in which was done in a couple of minutes. If there is a big group it will take time. The location is great and some of the attractions are within walking distance. There is a metro and bus station right next to the hotel. McDonald, kebab and supermarkets are all around the hotel. The rooms were very clean, the beds and pillows were quite comfortable and the linen was also clean and fresh. The bathroom had clean and soft towels no issues there. Our bathroom even had a bath tub. There was a heat wave in Europe during our stay with temperatures touching 36°C, but the air-conditioning was just great. There was an electric kettle provide along with tea, coffee and milk satchets. A bottle of water everyday was complimentary. The minibar and electronic safe was also a big advantage. The best part was the sumptuous breakfast spread, just wow! There were days specials like local dishes ghoulash etc. All the standard layouts of bread, bacon, scrambled eggs, jams baked vegitables were very nicely layed out. There was also a waffles maker with spread of chocolate sauces, whipped Cream, maple syrup etc. The waiters were very friendly and efficiently went about serving everybody. There is a bar, paid parking and gym in the hotel. A wonderful family hotel catering to needs of all kinds of travellers.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Cleaning with fresh water bottles on the room every day. The room had a Nespresso machine, with free capsules refilled every day 👍. The breakfast was really nice with lots of choices. The location is great with both bus, metro and tram stops just a minute walk away. The bars and restaurants in the neighbour hood all seemed to have reasonable prices.

The hotel was well located to public transport and the Keleti Railway Station. The hotel has great amenities and our room was extremely comfortable, a good size and quality fixtures. It is great value and the breakfast generous and a good variety. Staff are very friendly, engaging and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

It was a pleasent one night-stay. We were very happy about room upgrade to a freshly renovated executive room. Staff was very friendly and helpful from the beginning to the end. Breakfast was very delicious and versatile. Hotel is very clean and smells very freshly everywhere. Could have been stayed longer than one night. Highly recommended to everyone.

Convenient location, friendly/ helpful staff, reasonable price, comfy bed, wide choice for breakfast, shower was a bit disappointing, clean, good size room. All as expected and needed. Strange that the housekeeper visited the room in the evening when I was out and adjusted the bed sheets and pillows, I didn’t think it was necessary

Not quite as central as they'd have you believe but ok. Not far from metro and trams, 20 to 30 minutes walk to the danube. Nice staff, rooms basic which is ok. Gym a little bit cold war interrogation like. Old part of the hotel lovely.

Really happy with my stay here! Staff was incredibly helpful. My room was lovely and very comfortable. Breakfast has many choices and lots of attentive staff. The location is great...very close to metro and buses. I had dinner in the pub( same menu as dining room) and it was quite good.

One of the best hotels we stayed on the trip. Staff are super friendly to all patrons including the kids and they even gave soft toys and coloring kits to keep them engaged. The location is central and many restaurants and shopping areas around. Rooms are spacious, clean and relaxing. You get a nice view of the city from the room as well.

We moved to this hotel after a one-night stay at Nemzeti Hotel Budapest around the corner (NOT advised). All communal spaces of the Novotel seemed adequately clean, the rooms were also cleaned regularly, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the amenities worked properly. David at reception was extremely helpful during our three-night stay. He guided us to the best Hungarian restaurants and even helped us book a table. The bar staff were friendly and professional but it did seem like they needed a few more staff. The breakfast had a great selection of food, was adequately clean, and provided good professional service by all. Good location, super easy to walk to sites.

(Edited)Check-in was smooth, I had prepaid via the app, but at reception I had to pay a deposit of 10000 Ft. For a 4* hotel, our room was more of a 3 at least. The beds were comfy, but the shower always leaked. We received complimentary water on our first day, never received it on the next. The room is very..... let's say it needs a makeover. Don't request the the courtyard view, there's no courtyard, just paving and your fellow neighbours opposite.

Overall good value and location when visiting Budapest for a short time. 1. Check-in - The lady at the reception (I believe she is Norwegian, 8-10 Oct morning shift) was wonderful, professional, polite and capable of her job. She was helpful, clear in communicating and responding to our questions, and "no-fuss" during the check-in and check-out process. 2. Access of cleaners and overall security - I had a bad experience on my first day when someone (I was told it was one of the cleaners) barged into my door and slammed it shut really hard, breaking the lock-chain in the process. I felt unsafe during this time as I was only settling in the room, my things and valuable items were still all over the places near the door, and I was inside the bathroom about to take a shower. The 'cleaner' could have at least knocked and listened in through the door first (TV was on), and realising that he/she made a mistake, he/she should not have just ran off without resolving the broken chain that he/she caused, the door hanging about and the guest now left unsecured because of the broken chain and open door. I had to call in the nearest hotel staff (2 or 3 rooms down) to help and the technical / repair man came swiftly . The receptionist was apologetic and reassured me that they have reported this to the manager on duty and it was one of their cleaners. Not a good first day at all, so I always left a water bottle on top of the door handle during my entire stay. 3. Cleanliness - Cleaning needs some improvement and was not very thorough --- passable and serviceable. I can tell from the bathroom and the bed that it was not done up to high standards. 4. Restaurant service and food - The servers and all assistants in the restaurant were great during our entire stay. We had this booked for our event of >100 people. Meeting rooms are good and met what we required for the two days. Breakfast offered good options. Lunch and dinner included some traditional Hungarian dishes so those were much appreciated by guests who did not have enough time to explore outside the conference/event and go around Budapest for traditional food. 5. Overall - The above are in line with expectations of most Novotel chain hotels. Read the details of my review above and compare with your own research of other alternatives so you can make your own decision.

The hotel has a very good location. Easy to find. The staff are nice, speak English, helpfull. The hotel is clean with a nice vibe. Rooms and bathrooms clean, tidy and space to move around. The bar and restaurant are nice. The bar area could be a little bigger. The food served is tasty. Breakfast very good and plenty to choose from. Underground fitness room. Conference rooms available. Wifi i very good. Closest tram station right around the corner Blaha Lujza Ter.

Good hotel, but don't get them to call you a taxi. They use unregistered and unmetered cabs that charge 50% more than proper taxis, but don't tell you about it beforehand. According to the driver, they take a cut. Very sharp practice!

We stayed for two nights in a room on the 3rd floor. The room was OK; nothing special but also not horrible. There was a bathtub which was nice for a change. The big Philips TV didn't have any smart features such as apps and wireless connectivity. So, we couldn't watch YouTube or stream anything and therefore the TV was useless. The furniture in the room was fine and there was a balcony but almost no view. The mini fridge was broken and I reported to the reception but nobody did anything about it. Nobody even apologized to us. That's a big minus. Another really annoying thing about the rooms is that they are not soundproof. You will easily hear other hotel guests and also street traffic. That's another big minus of this hotel. Regarding breakfast, it was good. It wasn't fancy or special in any way, but it satisfied us. The dining room looked nice but there are other hotels in Budapest that offer a similar dining experience. So, it's not really that unique. As an Accor Hotel member, we were eligible for 2 free glasses of wine. The bartender was very pleasant to talk with and she knew English well. She was definitely the best staff member that we met at the hotel. We didn't try the gym and therefore have no comments. Overall, we wouldn't book this hotel again because of the noise inside. So, if you value quality sleep, look for another hotel.

The Novotel Centrum is in a good location, not great for shopping though. The staff could have been more helpful in certain circumstances. Unfortunately, we got a smoking room, not realizing how prevalent smoking is in Europe. The room itself was comfortable and larger than expected.

Although the hotel was four stars, but it had very good service. The rooms were clean and relatively large. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. At first, our room did not have an outside view, but when we told the hotel reception, they happily changed our room and gave us a room with a street view. The best part of the hotel was the hotel breakfast, which had almost a full buffet. The location and accessibility of the hotel was relatively good.

Second stay in Budapest and second in this hotel. Very comfy rooms, excellent breakfast in an old restaurant that gets your mood up in the morning. Very friendly staff and a perfect location. The only warning I can give is to mind if you have a large car - if it misses sensors and/or cameras you may be able to get into the parking lot but struggle to leave, so it's wise to plan ahead. A notable mention is the executive lounge where around 5pm you get complimentary food and wines - note that the meat is not refrigerated and to avoid food poisoning it might be better to keep away from it when it lays there for a couple of hours already. Other than that - I thoroughly recommend this place!

The hotel is very fascinating because is in an Art Nouveau building. Still some aspects to improve inside the rooms in terms of renovation of the furniture. The hotel staff is very kind and ready to help you for any type of requests. The breakfast was amazing with one of the widest selection of food that I've ever seen in the hotels. Perfect place if you come in Budapest for work reasons!

Rooms: Beautiful, clean and spacious. I like how the toilet is separate from the bathroom, however I would have appreciated a sink in that room too. Nice size bed, both a firm and soft pillow and the bed was medium-firm (which I prefer). I had a room facing the alley, so it was very quiet, a very good night's rest. Location: very close to metro lines which is super convenient, or you can just walk (A bit on the far side if you want to walk to the river, but still doable) Staff: lovely staff everywhere with great smiles, thank you- it is what I like to see. Extras: Very nice breakfast with plenty of choice. Barista on service, make your own waffle and plenty more. Lovely.

Nice hotel in a beautiful art déco building. The rooms are spacious, but could use some renovation. Friendly staff. Abundant and well sorted breakfast. The area is not very pedestrian friendly (located on a fairly busy street), but is well connected with tram, bus and an underground station around the corner.

If you stay at this Hotel, then your set for a good experience in Budapest. Spacious well kept Hotel, with character. The Breakfast room/Hall is special with history. The Hotel has a multi story car park attached with access directly into the Hotel, which is very very convenient. They have many rooms with balconies but you have to ask for one when booking. The hotel position is perfect, you can walk & discover Budapest while you head towards the river which is a good 20 minute walk but a good experience, discovering many unique areas, buildings, restaurants when walking through the streets. And you always feel safe because Budapest is always busy and full of people. I've been working out here for 2 week periods 8 times a year, for 3 years, so I know Budapest well. I'm working as an engineer near Budapest. So, Great Hotel. Good Position.

Great hotel right on the M2 metro line. Easy walk to everywhere. Fitness centra and Spa is downstairs and there are very spacious rooms and great beds. Internet was horrible for four days. House keeping gave us one coffee a day. Had to ask every day for more.

Location was great and central close to most sightseeing. Service was alright at times but there was so many things missing from the room, there was no vanity packs. We drank the coffee first morning and it was not replaced until I asked for more and the receptionist reluctantly sent some up. One of the new clean towels they have us had a clump of long hair in the middle, not belonging to any of us. I just tossed it away as I wasn't gonna go downstairs with a clump of hair on towel to show them!!! Rooms could be a bit more cleaner and there was dust on the high, surfaces. The lobby was very nice and restaurant staff were very friendly. Although the pool and sauna was under construction, there was a small gym with few exercise machines.

We had a lovely stay here, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and staff were lovely and very welcoming. It was my birthday when we visited and as a little touch they left a birthday message with a chocolate muffin in the room when we returned. It’s within walking distance to all main attractions. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We really liked the design of the rooms. My baby loved the free space next to the couch and oh not to forget the window view. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff was cordial and the breakfast area is huge. Overall it’s the best hotel in the city

The rooms are clean and well maintained. It’s a 4 star hotel with all basic amenities. The bathrooms of our room was tiny. The buffet breakfast was good with continental style. If you are a vegetarian then you won’t like the food since the items in the buffet menu are mostly meat. You can have breads, fruits and salads.

Good location near almost everything. Easily reachable by all transportation. Friendly and smooth reception. Room is spacious and has all basic amenities. AC is not really cooling but does the job. The noise is very minimum. The breakfast has wide variety of freshly prepared options.

  • 2/5 Yuxin L. 10 months ago on Google
The room is clean and spacious. The location is good as there is a supermarket across the street. However, we were asked to leave our passports at the front desk for ONE HOUR for identity check. This never happened before in any other hotels!! Even worse, the hotel didn’t do any check during that hour because when we came downstairs to collect our passports the front desk did the paperwork in front of us. So my question is, what did the hotel do with our passports during that entire hour? I’m having severe concerns about the safety of my personal information now.

The hotel is located nearby the very center of the city, it is very well connected in terms of city public transport, as well as the metro. Rooms are comfortable, have a lot of space, complementary coffee, and tea, which gets replenished each day, as well as a water kettle and a coffee maker. Staff is highly professional, very friendly, and extremely helpful. Hotel cafe and restaurant are cheaper than the food or drinks you can find in restaurants out and about the city. I highly recommend it, as it made my first stay in Budapest very comfortable and easy to organize.

Very kind and helpful staff. Clean, quiet and comfortable room. I will definitely book again. The only thing I wasn't`t very happy is the food in the hotel's restaurant. I ordered a vegetable curry fo dinner. It was nice but it was nothing to do with curry. It was a nice vegetable dish but not a curry. But apart from this I absolutely loved my stay in the hotel. I highly recommend it.

Your hotel is the place where I will always return and recommend to my family, friends and business partners. Besides perfect location, close to bus, tram and metro station you also have excellent and high level professional staff, clean and spacious rooms, great food and beautiful restaurant. Meeting premises also gives opportunity to be considered for various type of business arrangements. I would also like to emphasize pleasant atmosphere in the hotel bar including possibility to order food there even after hotel restaurant is closed. Thank you for making my stay in Budapest great, looking forward to my next visit in your hotel.
