Experienced dinner dining when was back to hometown. Food quality, taste and service is quite good. Pricing is generally affordable. Car parking is aplenty by the side of the road where the restaurant is located at. Will come again in the future when back to hometown one of these days.

Superb. Thumbs up. 5 star for both the taste and price. If you were to look at the shop and decor from the outside, you might not be tempted to walk in. However, the moment you open the door, after seeing the large number of diners, and the delicious waft of well cooked dishes, I am sure you will change your mind. The decor definitely needs a bit of updating. It looks kind of dated. But don't let that distract you from the food. I wouldn't call the menu extensive but it's more than adequate. Whatever you do, you must order the chaumm egg. It's simply divine. The way they made the vegetables and egg taste crispy is just incredible. The pandan chicken meanwhile was cooked really well with moist tasty meat. The sweet and sour chicken came with generous portion and the crispy skin together with the tasty meat was simply mouth watering. The petai came with really fresh prawns and accompanying sambal had all the right taste mix. Finally, the steamed squid. It was really spicy but the spice, saltiness and sourness was combined really well. In short, this is one of the best Thai food available and repeat visits will not surprise me. Especially since the portions they give you is very generous and the price is really fair.

A very nice Thai food restaurant. Food taste is very nice. Service is very fast. The tomyam taste strong without spicy. However the tomyam price is a bit too expensive RM34 for 2 pax.

I was told this is the place to go for authentic Thai cuisine. Apparently the cook is from Thailand so this is the real deal! First of all, the place seems to be very packed and actually it is full house when we arrived near 7pm that time. Booking is not allowed so you have to queue and luckily we don't have to wait long. Ordered a few dishes and they are all very good. We ordered fried pork knuckle, seafood tom yum soup, fried prawn cake, fried sotong, sambal bamboo shoot, fried omelette, otak otak and tub tim krob for dessert. Oh and also the Thai milk tea. Honestly, all of the dishes ordered are nice and taste great! My personal favorite is the fried pork knuckle, it is sooo crispy on the outside and yet the meat and especially the fatty part makes it a good contrast texture. My parents loved the otak otak and my kids love the fried prawn cake. The dessert tub tim krob has a lot of ingredients inside unlike other Thai restaurant where usually you get a very small portion of the water chestnut thing inside. So basically everything is yummy la... haha! Parking outside can be quite full as well but you can easily park across the road near the houses with ample spaces. Now I know where to go if I ever crave for a nice pork knuckle. 😋 5 stars. Recommended!

Cant give you full star, because of the price. I cant take it, because i eaten seafood with cheaper price, compare to what i ordered here. Recommended food: pork knuckle, pandan chicken, seafood tom yum soup. Different person, different taste. Above is what suits my taste. Other food that we tried, i think still ok. If you really want to enjoy & eat your dinner more relax, do come as early as 6pm. Else, the place will be packed with people. Mayb the taste fits most people around this area.

Superb fast service, even when it is full house. Food tasty, authentic thai. Teow chew steam fish is less spicy but tangy sweet sour taste. Superb

If you want authentic Thai food on in BM, look no further. This establishment has been around since the 90s and every visit has always been consistently great. This visit was no different. Service was friendly & swift. And price is still pretty good for what you get..

One of the best thai restaurants i had in penang mainland. Price is reasonable and everything is tasty. HOWEVER, the one who take my order seems like annoying to attend me. One of the accidents: Ask for jug juice, and then she asks us for half jug or whole jug. We thought whole jug is only for about 1/2 litres but it is far more than that. Before that we had asked the auntie will it be too much for four of us and she didn’t answer directly. Finally we tapau all the things that we couldn’t finish.

Otak otak tastes delicious. The mango salad also tastes fantastic with the Pandan chicken. The food was served within 10 minutes, and still taste incredibly good. Only problem was that the petai was a little spicy.

If you crave Thai food and don't want too spicy, May Tip is a good choice in BM town All dishes won't be too spicy and they did provided two types of sambal. Highly recommended their seafood otak otak, green curry and pandan chicken. Dessert, they got ruammit. RM8 each. Very nice. Got nangka, jelly, red ruby, yam and etc, all mix in coconut milk. YYDS.

Super amazing food. Crave for it every few months! So far haven’t found anything as nice as them in the few countries I’ve stayed in. Left my bag with my passport and keys and everything they came back to help pass it to me in the middle of the night.

I came here twice already in two weeks time. 1st time with my gal friends as we only have 3 ppl we could order much but I love the taste very much. My aunt is a Thai from Hatyai and she cooks Thai food very well and went to Hatyai very often too therefore I couldn’t find any Thai food in Penang which have real Thai food standard. Finally, this shop really could ease my crave for original Thai food. Decided to bring my Thai aunt to this shop and she loves it too. Just she commented the Tomyam is more to Malaysian taste but everything else are very delicious. Suitable for small and big group of people but recommended to call if u have more than 10 persons to prevent any disappointment during this time as the shop is quite particular and follow the government’s SOP. Pricing are quite reasonable for us as for 11 dishes for around RM322.

A nice place for authentic Thai cuisine with air conditioning environment. Dishes were served really quite but I was really annoyed by their tables, shaking and not stable. Thai Steamed Fish was really good, the soup was sour and spicy with strong umami flavour. The strong sourness was really appetising. Pork Knuckle was fried until crispy but the meat was slightly too dry for me. Better come here before 7pm or else there will be a long queue for tables.

Have been going to this restaurant since 15 years ago and I am still visiting! Foods are very nice and good, they are served quite fast too. However, the foods are getting more and more expensive. Spent $511 for total 10 pax (7 dishes) as the price was increased even more during cny. A dozen of pandan leave chicken and a dozen of prawn cake are priced at $65 each.....

Long time Thai food hidden behind shop lots. Well known to locals. It has recently extended to a 3rd shop lot. Seafood Tomyam is super spicy with very thick gravy. The fried stuff like prawn cake, fish cakes come in smaller than usual sizes so they serve a minimum of 6 pieces per order.

Very authentic thai cuisine, food portion very generous, must order the salted fish egg pancake, colourful dessert, shrimp nuggets is so crispy outside tender inside and tomyam has punch in it! The speed of dishes coming out from the kitchen was lightning quick as well. Must try!

Over 27 years in business. Still the best Thai restaurant in Bukit Mertajam. The deep fried pork knuckle, otak-otak, coconut shoot, kerabu and tom yam are some of my favourite dishes!

  • 5/5 Kayla K. 2 years ago on Google
everything was above average, good kick of sour and spice, will always come back whenever i’m in town. Best dish for me was the fried egg/omelette and stir fry coconut shoot! The otak otak was full of seafood, really generous portion. The bangkok steam fish was also good, but not for the faint hearted as it is very spicy. Do finish off with a good Ruammit dessert 👍 Will come back again to try the pork knuckles and definitely more of the fried egg/ omelette

I am a fan of Thai Food and I must say the dishes are a class above. My favourite is the Thai Vege Omelette. Whilst the name sound very common, the taste is so different. My friend said that the leaves are small petai leaves. The other favourite of my is the Fried Prawn Fritter. This is very fresh prawns with its crispness different from any others. We also tried the Thai Jelly. Oh well... you know by now I am going to say its different and tasty..not our usual cincau!
