This area have all the different types of foods in Penang. Each stall is unique. I recommend the Lok Lok, Fried noodles, fried chicken, Pau. Parking is difficult just opposite the street. I recommend to park to the east side (Chai Leng Park Archery Range). The Sea View Kopitiam nearby is also nice. Bring your friends along for the lok lok experience.

Lots of food choices for street food lovers. Especially "leng chee kang" stalls accompanying 2 lok lok stalls located at the beginning of the streets.in between you will find many Penang streets food stalls to satisfy your tummy.

So many stalls here in this eatery street. My favourite is the duck rice with sausage. Sticky rice was so wondetfully made after pouring the sauce. Duck meat was full of flavour and Salted vege was a great compliment. WOW. 5 stars Fried chicken usually long queue. I liked its chicken wing and drumstick. Perfectly fried. But I noticed many patron ordered chicken skin and tail which I do not fancied. 4 stars Apom by a lady was perfectly done. Thin and just nice. 4 stars. Tongsui dumpling 汤圆 (a shop opposite the eatery street). Cheap and delicious. 4 stars Nasi lemak was delicious. Sambal and curry fish was addictive. RM6 per serving. 4 stars Dessert 4 fruit soup 四果汤 was delicious as well. RM4 per serving. 4 stars Usually there is long queue in curry rice stall. Finally i tried once and it was delicious. Curry was good, not spicy and full of fragrance of curry leaves abd powder. 4 stars

If you are looking for a quintessential experience of dining local fare with accompanying local culture, then this is one of the best place to do it. This will unfortunately include things that may trouble you. First of all, the good points. Huge huge variety of food. You can literally eat till you explode and there will still be stalls leftover to try. Specifically, I urge you to try the char koay teow and the tai lok mee at the beginning of the road. The burger and wan tan mee at the centre. Tiptop fried chicken near the end of the road. These are the most try before you move on to the others. However, if you plan to eat here, you must be comfortable to eat with the heat and humidity of a tropical country. You have to be able to close one eye at the less than ideal hygiene at most stalls. You must tell yourself to enjoy the quirkiness of the old, simple and sometimes uncomfortable decor surroundings. Lastly you shouldn't be disturbed by whiff of exhaust if you sit near the road. In the end, eating here is an experience and the experience is what you make it out to be.

"Review Related to Taman Chai Leng's Food Stalls" What so great 👍🏻 1) Reasonable prices food 2) Economical fried noodle stall offers good selection of simple, straight forward fried noodle, with nothing fancy, and reasonable price. Suitable for tea time snacks 3) Quite fast in terms of service The major down 👎🏻 4) Hygiene, cleanliness! 5) Car parking 6) The food is suited for the locals, whom dine there frequently. May not be suitable for visitors.

There're a lot of choices/stalls. Lok-lok, fried mee, meehoon, kuey ka, cha kuey teow, kuah teow teng, economy rice, nasi dalca, putu mayam, apam, dessert /icey dessert, chicken rice, duck rice, wanton mee, butter tea, etc Parking might need to park further. Lots of people.

They have a huge variety of food stalls here. Leng chee kang is everywhere and its good and refreshing. The recommended item here is the sang mee (生面) from the stall at the very far end. The only thing is its very old and is a typical street food joint so cleanliness might not be great here.

Malaysian street food hawker centre on the mainland. Nothing beats the variety of delicious food served at the food stalls along the street. My favorite dish is Cantonese fried noodles, lok lok (assorted steamboat/fried ingredients) with a selection of various vegetables, tofu, wontons, bacon, seafood, and more, accompanied by drinks (六味). Even heavy rain can't deter the locals from visiting. Give it a try

A street with plenty of delicious food stalls! The most famous food stalls are the Lok Lok stall and the Tai Lok Mee stall too, but there are still many good stalls to try out!

  • 4/5 Jenny C. 1 year ago on Google
We liked the wok hei taste from tai lok mee (Broad yellow mee), hor fun and fried meehoon. Fried lok lok taste better than cooked in water coz quality of sauces dropped compared to before mco.

The Lok Lok stalls are quite similar to each other and have many choices to choose from. However please be advised that your vegetable head will be chopped, very expensive so be careful not to take too many sticks

This street is epic, for those with a great appetite. I love the herbal teas here and economy rice. My husband says it’s the same shop owner since he was young.

Last visit is about 3 years ago, before MCO is imaginable. Back then, choices are abundant, food are good. But now, it's a far cry from what it used to be. Food quality dropped as well.

  • 4/5 CS C. 4 years ago on Google
Besides the lok-lok and leng chee kang stalls, try the tai lok mee, claypot chicken rice, bak kut teh and fried chicken. The stalls are all open from 6.00 p.m. to midnight. Seating arrangement is tight. Cleanliness can be improved on. Parking is a big problem.

🫤 There are variety of food stalls available here. Tried yam rice and wantan noodles, not bad but not great either. Drinks were not that good, need to improve on the taste. Not to mention, the drinks are self service so you have to go to the counter, pay and wait in line to take the drinks. Really bad...

👍 Go with my 6th auntie family. A lot of choices but the table was not big and occupied 2 tables. Frog Porridge has a big fat frog that I cannot find recently. Char koey teow has many prawns. Shanghai pao looks nice and does not taste as good as the restaurant. Lok bak has a lot of choices and or...
