My favourite coffee shop in the city. Love FDL. Folks who know how to make coffee, and are super friendly. Delicious eats too. The croissants and other pastries are wonderful. Fresh, and melt in your mouth. The ice cream is also wonderful. Everything made fresh on the premises. Great loyalty points system too. The café is pleasant well decorated and clean. However, the real stars of the place are the staff who are kind, polite and professional. Always smiling. Heitor is extra special. Friendly and a real nice guy who knows how to make a great cup of coffee. 5 stars all the way.

Visited this place for the first time and I enjoyed my stay here. Service: everyone here seemed quite friendly and looked like they want to be working here. That says a lot about the business, management, and worker conditions. The lady who took my order didn't pressure me while I took my time to look at the various pastries on display. Food: I ordered various things to go and had a latte and cinnamon swirl. The coffee was good but I really liked the cinnamon swirl-- the sugar chunks that came with the swirls had a good crunch, sweetness and butteriness (like a good kouign amann) without the usual bitterness I find in many caramelized pastries. The pastry also had a good mouth feel and texture which is the result of good lamination. Oh and it wasn't dry like many cafes out there! Atmosphere: the place was clean, organized, quaint, and I really like their open concept kitchen-- you can see how clean the workspace is. The only downside was the construction noise inside the cafe. I wouldn't hold it against them since it's not a regular occurrence but the noise was quite loud-- hopefully they will be done soon so I can come back to a nice peaceful cafe. Verdict: I'd definitely visit again. There are a few cafes near where I live but Im willing to drive all the way out here because everything I ate was solid. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.

Decided to go to a random cafe and had a truly amazing experience. The chocolate croissant was amazing and so was the atmosphere. Very friendly service too and the price is reasonable. Welcome to study or get some work done here or meet up with some friends. The great view is a plus too.

My Little Bro gave me a FDL gift card for Christmas and it was the best present ever. The Missus and I have visited FDL Cafe twice already in the New Year. The staff is really friendly and the cafe has a nice vibe. You can watch thru glass windows to see their croissants being created. The coffee is freshly made and the pastries we have sampled were exquisite. So far, we have tried the walnut caramel roll, cinnamon bun, cheese bite and the spicy chicken bacon sandwich. So much more to try. A big thumbs up for a visit.

We had good time at this cozy cafe, I liked how they baked all the pastries in house and all were fresh. The carrot cake was great. The cream puff was quite different from what we tried before. They came with kinda frozen cream inside, and not very sweet. Coffees were ready very quickly and with nice arts on them. A place to go again

We visited FDL a few times already and tried different beverages. The baristas here are all super friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and pastries here. They also have ice cream (gelato) served at the front of the store. You also get to join a points program where you get a free drink after x number of drink orders. In the pics you'll see a cinnamon swirl pastry, salted chocolate rye cookie, mocha, matcha greet tea latte, blue matcha latte and regular latte. This was the the first time we seen and tried a blue matcha latte. It was strange though, but worth trying out if you are curious. The other drinks were done quite well with the beautiful latte art. The place is quite cozy and it seems the customers here are regulars as I see the staff chatting up with the folks in here just like a true neighborhood hang out. We look forward to coming back more often to try their other delicious pastry selection.

One of my favorite cafes to study and chill. They have tons of plugs and also GREAT baked goods🥰 I tried their double baked hazelnut croissant. I think it’s good to share, eating it alone might be too filling. I think the hazelnut inside can be a little too sweet though. They do run out of baked goods in the afternoon, so make sure you get it fresh! :)

I had the opportunity to try FDL cafe, and I was not dissappointed. The service was very friendly and the desserts were amazing. My favourite though, if you like espresso, was the chocolate espresso cake! Did I mention that they have gluten free options as well?! The gluten free options are really good! Good job FDL, I can't wait to come back! 😊👍🏽

Very cozy, coffee is great, and the staff is amazing. I ordered a small latte and due to the busy day they were having during Burnaby Heights Festival, the latte was just a bit late yet they were so polite and apologetic. They gave me a larger size latte and 2 free baked items. They even tried to offer me some ice cream!!

The best cafe ever! My favourite gelato flavours are the Pistachio and Ferrero Rocher. Their croissants are amazing, especially the Double Baked Almond Croissant or Double Baked Hazelnut Chocolate Croissant. Nice study or date spot :)

One of the go to places for gelato, coffee, and pastries. Their pistachio gelatos are rich with pistachios (nuts) and flavour as well. This place is my favourite for gelatos and their pistachio croissant is also phenomenal.

This was my first visit after they upgraded the store to a larger space and added more items to the menu. I went with my same classical jam, Cinnamon roll . But the rest of the items seemed delicious and mouthwatering. The owner is always there with his welcoming greetings and friendly smile. Maybe this is one of the nicest elements of the warm atmosphere of this beautiful Cafe. Hopefully they keep on with their fair price, quality and welcoming atmosphere😉

Yesterday was the first time I visited this cafe since I moved into the neighbourhood about a year ago & this place is amazing! Atmosphere: I came by to study here with my boyfriend & the atmosphere was very chill: not crowded, relaxed jazz music, lighting not too bright, lots of seating options & different options for food & beverages. They had different menus like drinks, baked goods and gelato. It was too cold for gelato but I will try the gelato when it’s warm outside. Service was great: the people were friendly, told me the caffeine free options for drinks & answered other questions I had. Definitely felt welcomed in this cafe & a great study spot for long periods of time! Food: the desserts were really soft, fresh & delicious. My boyfriend got the Oreo cheesecake & we were shocked on how big the slice was, worth the price & preferred over other cheesecake places like Trees. I got the triple chocolate cake, soft like a mousse and a good match with the cheesecake. The blue matcha felt nice & homey; no caffeine, got oat milk & added vanilla with it. My boyfriend got the almond butter latte and it tasted great as well, not too sweet and perfect for the season. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a study spot, date or place to hangout. I’ll be coming back soon to try their other menu items💗👏🏼

FDL is a cute cafe located in Burnaby that serves coffee drinks, latte’s of many types, along with both sweet and savoury treats to satisfy your pallet. I got the oat milk cortado and fruit danish, while I also tried my friends double baked almond croissant with chocolate and Nutella cake. First off, coffee. I’d say it was decent, not my favourite coffee roasters but enough to get the caffeine kick and go well with the sweets. To clarify, it wasn’t bad, it was pretty average. Next up, sweets! The fruit danish was delicious, I loved how flakey the pastry was and how it wasn’t too sweet - it paired well with the cortado! It was also quite refreshing and light. The nutella cake was a bit more indulgent, but didn’t have a strong nutella vibe, moreso like a rich chocolate cake - it’s dangerously good, but more of a heavy tret. Lastly, the almond croissant with chocolate could’ve been better. I felt the pastry wasn’t as buttery and flakey as I liked it to be. I think it was a combination fo flavour and texture that was off, so I personally wouldn’t recommend it. Overall, this is deifnitely a cafe I’d come back to if I want decent food or sweets with my coffee. It’s quite busy throughout the day, but I can understand why. It’s a great place to catchup with friends, but a bit too loud to study. I like the ambiance as it has lots of shared seating and on a sunny day, the sun shines through and just adds to the vibe. The price of the pastries are pretty fair as well.

I was caught by surprise the white peach sorbet pairing with pistachio gelato! White peach flavor was intense with hint of tartness. The pistachio gelato was sweet and a touch of savory! A scoop CA$6.50 and add second scoop for additional CA$2.00! Ordered a cup of latte….. smooth and good coffee! There are other offerings of pastry which seems very tempting but didn’t have the chance to try! Location is very clean and layout is cozy and relaxing!

The pastries were delicious and 90% fresh. We got pecan roll and double baked almond croissant(or something like that). It was my first time trying matcha latte and I didn’t like it. It smelled like seaweed. I think it’s just not for me.

I saw this coffee shop on Instagram, and the pictures made everything look delicious. I've been wanting to try it for a while, so today when I was heading to Burnaby, I made a detour to visit the shop. They had a wide variety of pastries that looked fresh. I ordered a sausage roll , Vegan chocolate cake ,chicken sandwich and a veggie sandwich to takeout. The chicken in the sandwich tasted good, but both sandwiches had thick and large bread that I didn't quite enjoy. The veggie sandwich was filled with eggplant, which was too salty for my taste. Overall, I wasn't a big fan of either sandwich, but luckily the sausage roll and vegan chocolate cake were fresh and delicious. Maybe next time, I'll just try their coffee and other pastries.

Very friendly and helpful staff and high quality pastries. Good prices for the quality of the food. Located at a sunny spot (when sun shines). A couple more outdoor tables would be a great addition to this place :)

My wife and I moved into the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood and love to go for coffee together. After trying a couple spots in the area we found Fior Di Latte and haven’t turned back! They’re coffee, pastry’s, lunch and Gelato are top tier - with a price point made for everyone! It’s also very refreshing walking into a business to be greeted by friendly and welcoming staff members. I would highly recommended this place! Ps. Fav pastry is the cinnamon swirl 😋
