👍👍 Very old house with nice Islamic decorations and many arabesque windows. Attending a seminar which was very interesting. The stairs are very high and painful for those who has knee problems. People often mention events,

a historic 18th century house built by a high ranked official and later used by the French Commitee which published the famous book, Description de l'Egypte. It now hosts Cairo events of the Library of Alexandria.

Great historic place, mamluk style, you probably will get lost inside this place, they were really genius in architecture. There are lot of events there just follow them to know what's coming, located in Sayeda Zeinab square, where you can just roam about and see real Egyptian streets

A lovely ‘home’ dating back to the 18th century built in the classical tradition for homes during that era (Islamic classical architecture) with wood works etc. It is used for artistic events, public fora & I think it can be hired for private functions as well but not too sure of that. It is in Alsayeda Zeinab, a few minutes walk from the much beloved mosque honouring the grand daughter of Prophet Mohammed who took refuge in Egypt with her family in 680 AD. It is an absolutely gorgeous building. There are often activities(shows etc) held there. I attended D-CAF (downtown contemporary arts festival) events there. I highly recommend it. The area around is not at all posh but has a lovely feeling. You can stroll around & soak in the spirit of a traditional Cairene quarter. It is generally very safe. You need to exercise caution & common sense as in all crowded spaces

A nice house that you can visit. It is in a similar style to the gayer Anderson museum.

The house itself is very nice but the area around it is just red zone, take care.
