The hotel has a good location. That's the only good thing. It is so noisy, some music is playing all night long. The windows are so thin that you can hear everything. Therefore no sleep is possible. Also, the toilets don't have proper doors. Its not 55 € worth.

The place is located in Downtown Cairo, on a very busy street that doesn’t sleep. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast is simple but filling and tasteful, it does the job! You can exchange euros or dollars at the reception for the exact exchange rate (no fees), which is great. If you’re a light sleeper, I don’t recommend coming here! The building itself is very old and not the cleanest. We booked a tour to see the pyramids with the hotel. There were two things we did not like. First, after the Pyramids, the tour guide took us to a ‘famous perfume shop’, which is a cave-like shop where they demonstrate 10+ perfumes and you end up feeling pressured to buy something. When we got home, the perfume was much lighter in scent that what was sold to us at the shop. Secondly, we only payed to visit the Giza Pyramids, and the tour guide told us ‘Saqqara is also included!’. We were very surprised by this, however, when the time came to visit saqqara, he said that the hotel just called him and told him it’s not included and that we could pay extra to visit. Mind you, we were already on the way! We said no, and got driven back to the hotel. I don’t know if this was a honest mistake or an attempt to make us spend money! Also, in our room, the bathroom door had two pointy screws sticking out. We ruined a shirt with them, be cautious!

Good room, value for money, and possible to request room away from street traffic in the busy centre of Cairo. The manager, reception staff and housekeeping are kind and helpful. The reason for the reduced rating is there is a staff member sleeping on the floor of the common breakfast area behind the counter, and woke up while I had been sitting there for over 30 minutes quietly working during the night. Upon waking up, he proceeded to put on his socks and shoes, while touching all over the kitchen counter. Then he turned on the TV in the restaurant as though this is his house. When I questioned him why he turned on the TV when I have been quietly working, he told me I should go to my room if I don't want to hear the TV!! He also claims to be the 'owner' of the hotel, and only apologised after I went down to the reception. An attitude adjustment is required for this 'owner' to be professional and treat guests with respect. There should be no one sleeping in the common areas, and staff treating the hotel like this is their personal house. Hygiene is also in question given he is sleeping where food is prepared in the mornings. Disgusting behaviour.

An amazing hotel with a great city view at a very reasonable price. Pros: 1. Amazing breakfast. 2. The people at the reception were nice and welcoming. It felt safe. 3. The rooms were nice (book the one with a balcony; the others were too small). 4. You can exchange dollars at the reception. 5. Great location if you are a food lover.

What an amazing hotel, we booked 4 nights with my mom and the room was exactly as the pictures, they welcomed us with a very professional way, they helped us with anything we needed, charge phone, tea, activities, they propose really nice and good activities for a really good price, they advice us a lot and helped us and it’s really important to rely à someone trustful when you don’t know the country, The room have a fridge, filled up everyday, the room is daily cleaned and the towels changed every day, so clean and calm we loved it ! There is a 24/7 help and desk open, if you need anything at anytime they will definitely help you out, I highly recommend this hotel, also the location was perfect, in a middle of everything, well deserved of taxi and Kareem, the all street has restaurant and souk, metro at 3 minutes of walk Thanks to all the peoples who worked at the hotel, it’s a family business so they treat the hotel and the people in it like family also Thank you and we will recommend you to anyone we know for sur !

Great location in downtown Cairo (you really need to like it to stay there because it noisy and incrdibly busy but we like that), clean, spacious rooms, helpful nice staff. Good value for money. The only thing we did not like is the place they booked us for a Nile river cruise dinner (Andrea), really a bad experience. The rest was very good

Great value for money hotel in downtown Cairo close to a lot of restaurants and tourist sites. Staff are what really makes this place from the first moment we were picked up by there driver from the Airport (Andrew) everything was great. Both Menna and Nareman were fantastic, welcoming us to the hotel and even giving us early access to our room when we arrived early from our flight. We recommend staying here.

As a first timer with family this place was an excellent option to stay. Great value for money - recommend and will be coming again. The staff is excellent - hard working and caring. Attend to all needs. Breakfast is very nice. Minibar available. Laundry available and daily housekeeping and money exchange available. Went above my expectations. Good location. Pick up and drop off arranged by hotel. Room was a great size with balcony. Restaurant area very nice. Bathroom is modern. Location is really good. Thank you for making our stay so good! :)

They didn't have the room I booked when I arrived. They charged me for double room but gave me a tiny single. When I said that I didn't book this they sent me to another hotel 15 min away saying they will have a room for me. It was dirty, the water heater was leaking and there was no heating. Not recommended.

Room didn't have knob. Location not easy to find. Very old building. We got stuck in the oldest every elevator we saw in life. The service however was good and they helped us out from lift fast.

Great boutique hotel, it makes you feel you're travelling back in time to old Cairo. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable double bed. A/C worked well and WiFi was fast enough for clear video calls with friends and family. The staff were hospitable, I highly recommend this hotel for those that are seeking an authentic experience of Cairo and want to be steps away from the city action.

Great place - with owners who focus on taking care of their guests (like family run). Located in the crazy hustle and bustle of Egypt - If you are looking to experience the everyday of Egypt life with quick access to everywhere - this is the place.

If you're hoping for a peaceful night - it won't be at Golden Palace Hotel. Unless of course you are able to doze off to the sounds of (what could be) the noisiest street in Cairo, which only seems fairly calm in the early hours of the morning. And in the morning, you can wake up under a broken showerhead - just don't slip on the wet floor, because somehow that's where all the water actually goes. Depending on where you make your booking, however, you can expect to pay the same rate and receive a "superior" room for the sake of ratings. On a slightly more positive note, though, you can look forward to friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and it's safe accommodation for a short stay.

Hotel is a bit hidden but once you find your way, you'll be very happy. The Hotel is in central Cairo, has nice views from the balcony and nice clean rooms equipped with AC. The breakfast was delicious and hotel offers many services including washing your clothes which was very nice and convenient.

Outside building needs a lot of repairs the hotel is occupied in two levels and the installation are quite new .....the cost versus benefits are pretty good .

I really enjoyed my stay at the Golden Palace Hotel. The Manager Ayman was very helpful and friendly, and went out of his way to help us feel comfortable and communicate with us all through our stay, the breakfast lady (Mona) was kind and hospitable. The location is definitely one of the highlights of the place, very close to many attractions, everything within a walking distance. Ideal place if you’re planning to be on the go.
