The hotel was a amazing place to stay. A very nice pool. My mom was having her birthday and we went to this Moroccan restaurant exactly what she needed. Then we came back in the room and there was a birthday cake (we didn’t know, we told them at the service but didn’t expect a cake) the hotel and swimming pool were very clean. Awesome view on the Nile. The manager and the service were very kind to us. I enjoyed and I hope to come back. 😁

By far the worst experience I have ever had with any hotel ever. I don’t understand how they are 5 stars they deserve less than 1. I had trouble with room service, with the hookah, with the food with everything they offer, they found a way to make my life harder. I literally don’t want to come back to Cairo because of this one hotel… they have ridiculous rules focused to maximize their profits instead of maximizing the customers experience. Never again

Moroccan restaurant Staff very helpful from start to finish. We came for dinner and had shisha later and the staff were very accommodating. They ensured we had the best seats to enjoy the view, live music and have a great experience. One of the waiters, Mozn, was particularly helpful throughout and went out of her way all the time to make us feel welcome

I had to wait for 2.5h in a lounge after check in until I could go to my room (the room wasn't ready). It took another half of an hour to then also bring me my luggage to the room. While I understand that it can happen that the room takes longer to prepare, this was an unformtably long time. Bathroom was not 100% clean. Would not recommend booking here. Views and breakfast buffet are good

My brother and I stayed at this fabulous hotel for 5 nights and we loved it! 10/10. The location and outdoor area (swimming pool, restaurants and terraces) are unbeatable and the service, especially Natalia from Guest Relations, is superb. She helped us tremendously and made our stay much better. We will always be grateful to her!

I am not usually picky but I had to post this one. When you pay for a 5-Star hotel; you expect a certain level of service, a certain level hygiene standards and a certain level of attention to details. Unfortunately this hotel fails to meet these levels especially when it comes to hygiene standards. As an example only, when having breakfast at the hotel restaurant, you expect cutlery to be clean, washed and safe to be used. I was shocked to see that orange juice was provided in filthy, clearly unwashed glasses, it literally had lips prints on it from previous users. To me this is totally unacceptable fail. To my surprise, when I checked, I was surprised to see that all glasses where the orange juice was served looked the same. Obviously, there lack of proper attention and management here. Its not a single worker failure.

Moroccan restaurant As my first visit to Cairo, this was one of the best meals I have ever had. The waiter, Ahmed, and the rest of the staff were extremely delightful. The live music was beautiful as well. I would completely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Cairo!

We had a very mixed experience here. We were expecting much more from a 5-star hotel. The hotel itself was nice and well maintained and the pool area was beautiful. The food was also pretty good, and we enjoyed our breakfasts here. When it came to staff however, we were a little surprised. It was really challenging to get coffee at breakfast since the staff seemed to clump together and not really pay much attention to the customers (5 mornings total, same thing every day). The front desk staff came off as pretty rude during our two check- in’s and two check-outs and acted very put out when we asked any questions about the hotel or asked for recommendations. When we needed something in the room because of some small issues, there was so much confusion that very little things became a hassle. There were also so many hidden fees. Everything was taxed of course, then there was gratuity, then one or two service fees that made no sense. We wouldn’t choose it again if we plan another trip to Cairo.

First of all, when we enter the hotel parking lot, a guy came and told us in the first second that its 50 pounds to park for 0-1 hour :) it had to be "Welcome to Sofitel Hotel,Sir!". Its a 5 star hotel but they want money (in the first second) for hotel parking lot!! Other issue is that its too sunny in the outside, but in the cafeterias there are no cover for sun or umbrellas near by the riverside. Its 50 degrees C, but no cover or umbrellas!! So i left. I didnt like it..

I stayed in a panoramic view room for 1 night. 1- I was in the 9th floor, The view was amazing but you open the window with your own responsibility because of flies and insects, this was not bad not good. 2- The parking is charged with 285 egp. per day. 3- I asked the reception once I entered my room to empty the fridge from alcoholic beverages and sweets but unfortunately no one came I called them 4 times and went to the reception once to tell them and finally at 10;30 pm some one came to empty it. 4- You are subjected to too much noises coming from rented ships and I didn't recall when it stopped as I slept listening to this awful loud songs. 5- the next day I went to take my breakfast in the restaurant when I returned back at 10:30 am I was surprised that the room key was disabled, I went to the reception they reactivated and said this happens by default by the system because I have to check out at 12:00 pm which is ridiculous and strange. Finally I would like to say that all of that was only the disadvantages and sure there were a lot of advantages but this things made me feel uncomfortable and frustrated.

Sud dinner Our dinner was splendid. We were able to try different dishes and all of them were of excellent quality. The service is also outstanding, very attentive and polite. Also, the view to the River Nile is also very special, your are able to see the locals having fun and the night life of the city.

Central location - easy to go anywhere from there. The staff are very helpful and polite, delicious food and comfortable room w/ an amazing view. A special thanks to our guest experience manager, Iman. We stayed there for a week and the experience was incredible. Breakfast looking at the Nile, view to the pyramids from the room, good restaurants in the premises, heated infinite swimming pool / jacuzzi (you can book their indoor jacuzzi and no one else will be there). We had a great time.

The location in Zamalek is great and stunning with the river views. The rooms were dated but kept reasonably clean. Nice breakfast at the beautifully located restaurant. We had two rooms but were not put nearby though we didn't ask for it. Some staff were more helpful than others. Our experience wasn't great. Though we booked for a full Nile view room and asked to be given the highest floor and a quiet room in our booking on their website and subsequent email with them and at check-in. On the first night the room was facing into a dance party at a club nearby and didn't think it had a full Nile view either which paid extra for and we needed ear plugs to sleep. We asked for a change the next day due to the noise from the club and the experience wasn't straight forward to put it simply. Plus we had to follow up and wait. Unfortunately for us the new room given to us was on level 9 and had pretty bad soundproofing between rooms and from the doorway. The connecting room neighbour had loud music and talking until late we reported them twice and eventually shut it down after I followed up.. The safe didn't work and had to be fixed. Definitely not the Sofitel standard globally. Not sure they know what a great customer experience means. No apologies whatsoever from even the manager when their staff missed things or made people wait longer than necessary. We wouldn't stay here again although we are Silver member. Not worth the money and hassle. Maybe try Hilton on the same island.

I paid for a full Nile view. I got a partial Nile, partial trash view topped off with the worst service you could imagine. I would never come here again. - Bookings team got my booking wrong. This mistake was fixed by charging me extra for a partial Nile view when I paid for full Nile view. - I was in the hotel from 5pm. I had to wait 6 hours for the extra bed to come. I had to call twice and visit reception. The bed cam at 12:15. - House keeping took more than 30min and they didn’t even bring what I asked for. - Open buffet breakfast have foods that they only offer to certain customers. My brother asked for Nutella, when I asked I was told they don’t have any. - Rooms are tacky and not clean. - I just paid top money for trash service. I wouldn’t come here again even if I was paid to. Day 3 After meeting with the managers we were upgraded to a really beautiful suite with an excellent view (see photos). The rooms were much cleaner and well kept. We were treated really nicely by all staff. Breakfast staff were much politer. To be fair the first half of my stay here deserves 2 stars and the second half deserves 5 stars.

The hotel itself isn't that bad. It's a bit old, but we had an amazing view over Cairo at our room's balcony. The location is good, and the fact that we were on high floors meant that we were far from all the noises and chaos on the ground in the city. Unfortunately, the service at this hotel is often disastrous. Absolutely not worthy of the 5 star status (maybe only in Egypt??) We had to pay 3 times separately at check-out because the front desk staff somehow couldn't get all the bills together in one go. We arrived at the spa 30 minutes in advance (at THEIR request) but were basically ignored for 25 minutes and the spa treatment started late. We could never reach them by email prior and after the stay. We're still fighting to check if we left something at the hotel. Sofitel promised to call us back after checking but of course, it never happened.

A great stay overall. Very attentive and well trained staff. Excellent breakfast and amenities. The only issue we encountered was the checkout process was slow because the luggage porters were literally overrun. Poor guys were doing their best and managed to stay professional with a pleasant attitude but it was very obvious that they are short staffed. I hope they get more help soon. Otherwise no issues. We will be coming back soon!

The Sofitel is arguably the best hotel to stay at in Cairo. Nested along the Nile, it is a relaxing environment to stay at away from the business of the city. *** The staff here is nothing short of unbelievable - extremely accommodating & kind, top notch customer service, always checking in with you, sending gift baskets to the room, and doing anything they can to make your stay perfect. At times our group needed certain things, and they took care of it immediately. They truly live up to the 5-star hotel service. If you're looking to stay in Cairo, definitely stay here!

The service and the breakfast is wonderful! We have been sitting outside having our breakfast each morning and the view is outstanding! We are sat under palm trees and we have the Nile right next to us. There’s a selection of freshly squeezed juice from guava to mango to strawberry and orange juice. There is a huge buffet with the most wonderful cheeses fruit and everything else. The servers are super super nice and friendly.

My stay at this hotel was amazing from the first time with nice people at the reception to a clean room with comfortable bed and beautiful view. Good food and Infinity pool. Best hotel in Cairo.

Amazing if you have a Nile view, then it's 5 stars. Rooms are very clean, though a little smelly and carpet is damp; the service in restaurant is hit and miss. My best compliments are to housekeeping, Omar the Housekeeping manager and Elslam from housekeeping do an fantastic job of making sure everything is just right. Omar in particular really make sure that the guests feel at home. On the housekeeping side, front desk experience, gym facilities, and wonderful breakfast along the Nile I give the hotel 5 Stars, it's the other things that keep this from earning top marks.

We arrived at the Hotel on the 12th November 2023 at around 7am. At least 3-4 months ago, we made a reservation of 2 premium bedrooms on the high floor and we requested that these should be interconnected. We showed the documents for this when we arrived at the hotel as proof of our reservation however, we were told that we could not check-in until 3pm. The receptionist, Marwa, said we had to pay extra for early check-in, which we were willing to pay, which was $40 per room. When we showed her the documents for our reservation, she said there was no interconnected room available nor suite for our family. When we kindly asked her if there was anything she could do or consider to accommodate our request as we had a prior booking, she repeatedly and rudely said “I cannot do anything. It is not about what you reserved, it is about the NOW”. Her attitude was extremely unprofessional and she was not friendly at all. At the end, she did not put in any effort to make our stay comfortable. The least she could have done was not charge us extra for our check-in as we already paid for the premium rooms and instead we got 2 standard rooms on two separate floors. One was on the third floor and the other one was on the fourth floor. This is not service we paid for and we were very disappointed. This means it is very likely that she either gave the rooms we booked to someone she knew or someone who had paid extra which is wrong because we paid for those rooms. We have visited many other countries but have never faced a situation like this before in any other hotel. We were told that our rooms were ready however when we went upstairs to the rooms, the bellboys were waiting outside with our luggage and informed us that the rooms were not ready. The next day, the manager came to us and apologised for the inconvenience and said it would not happen again. We were not going to write this review because we went to perform Umrah after however we just wanted to alert other travellers in case they ever face anything similar. Overall, the other staff members of the hotel were nice and the hotel itself is nice however next time when we visit Cairo, we will not stay at this hotel. Regards, Sayed Haider

The hotel is just ok. Rooms are big but old. I would say the best way to describe it is it's an old 3 star hotel. The manager is helpful but the concierge staff were at times impolite. There was a lot of noise on our first night there and when I asked why I got a different answer from different people. Food was also disappointing. I would prefer to pay a bit more and stay at another hotel especially when you're on vacation.

Le Sud Dinner A delicious meal with generous portions. A great position beside the Nile with entertainment from the passing boat parade The staff provide a prompt and friendly service. The menu has good variety of, including vegetarian. All round a great place to eat.

The place is wonderful and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. There is also an excellent oriental takht and a band consisting of male and female singers. They have wonderful voices. The place is beautiful and the food is wonderful. I cannot forget the splendor of the reception and the attention to the guests. I enjoyed the stunning view a lot and I hope to visit the place again

We stayed 5 nights at the beginning of our Egyptian vacation and then one night before our departure. Everything was excellent, from the beautiful views of the Nile River, delicious breakfast buffet and restaurants, to the hospitable, attentive hotel staff and proximity to the city center. We were greeted with a delicious, macaroon festooned chocolate cake in our room which we enjoyed on our balcony. We only had to ask to have the balcony unlocked due to safety concerns. While everything was amazing, I think our best time was spent at the hotel pool. Ismael, Ahmed and the staff at the spa go out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of. On our second day at the pool, they already knew the spot I wanted and moved the umbrellas to accommodate me. And the juice and grilled food was delicious. Finally, knowing about the jacuzzi reservation was great! We reserved a time and massaged our sore tourist muscles. We definitely plan to return to this fantastic hotel again soon. Thank you for making our holiday incredible!

Our stay at sofitel was anything but good. From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out, it was one thing after another that made our stay very unpleasant. Before booking we called twice to see if the breakfast would be included with our reservations, which we were told yes but that was simply not the case when we arrived. After almost an hour of talking with the front desk and manager we were getting nowhere and ended up paying for the breakfast. The only thing they did to “resolve” this issue was to upgrade our room which leads to the next disappointment. We were told it would be 2 queen size beds, but they were 2 single beds. The only nice thing about the room was the view of the Nile. The shower wouldn’t drain properly as well. The pool area is nice and the staff there were friendly. However, on the day we went to checkout, we hoped to use the pool facility as our flight was in the evening, to which we were told “you are no longer guests here and can’t use the pool.” I’ve been to many hotels and I’ve never heard of a policy were you can’t use the facility after you checkout and are waiting to go to the airport. We brought up this matter to another manager and they said the pool is full (which is was not) but, we could pay to use it. Instead we were given free coffee and tea. Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying again in the future.

There are pros and cons here. First the good: the location is great and the pool, breakfast at El Sud, spa and restaurant Kebaology were fantastic. However, the service was disappointing at best, the rooms feel outdated, the room next to us had a party until 5:30 am on a Sunday and smoked heavily despite it being nonsmoking, some of the staff were rude and felt judgmental, the Moroccan restaurant was terrible and concierge and room service proved to be useless. Never have I seen so many employees working but not doing anything of value to the guest experience. We initially booked a stay at the 4 seasons but changed last minute since their pool was closed for renovations. Wish we would have just gone to the 4 seasons. Overall 2.5 stars.

Beautiful hotel. Great service. Mahmoud made our stay unforgettable. The bedrooms are small. The bathroom and bedroom need closer attention to cleaning. The bathtub and sink had water clogging issues, which was temporarily resolved. The Moroccan restaurant was delicious and had lovely entertainment.

Amazing hotel. The service was flawless, starting with the reception and guest relations (thank you Miriam) and ending with the Club lounge, where the personnel was top notch. The rooms can use a little rehabilitation but the whole experience was perfect. Remarks for the location, near the Nile, the heated pool and the personnel at the breakfast .

I had a very strange experience with this hotel. My hotel reservation was done through a travel agency. So, I called the hotel one day before the check-in date to make sure that everything is settled with my reservation. I was surprised when the reservations employee "refused" to tell me whether my reservation is OK or not if I don't give him the reservation conformation number, which I really didn't have. That was the first time in my life to get this response with any hotel reservation anywhere in the world, regardless how the reservation was made. Surprisingly, I couldn't find out whether my reservation was OK or not until I had talked to one of the managers, after a long waiting time and a lot of frustration. It felt like we are just numbers to Sofitel and our names are not that important. What bothered me most is the manager who didn't really seem to care about this problem although he assured to me that the employee's response doesn't comply with the hotel policy. Other than this negative experience, my stay in the hotel was just fine

Best view on the Nile and a beautiful landscaped garden. The place to go to to enjoy relaxing scenery. The hotel rooms are dated but it has potential to be one of the best, as it's location is spectacular. The Kebabgi restaurant used to be great too. Now many other restaurants offer better tasting grills with more reasonable pricing. Overall - In my view, too expensive with average service.

If you are considering breakfast buffet in Cairo hit this one immediately as Considered one of the top list the in Cairo. Such variety of healthy choices and fresh juice as well as detox shots. They do French pastries as good as Egyptians msheltet with organic honey and cream. The view of the Nile is amazing. Big thanks to the hostess Jacklin and Omer alsyed as they attend ever guest so attentively♥️.

Very nice hotel with the best view on the Nile. The hotel seems old but they are maintaining it in a good shape, except for the mattresses. It would be better if they change it with new ones. One of the best privileges in this hotel is the staff, especially the housekeeping and the restaurant ones. They are all so pleasant and would do their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The breakfast is rich with variety of selections both oriental and continental to meet all tastes. Finally, if you want to stay here don't hesitate and go for the full nile view rooms, it's awesome.

I had the chance to visit this hotel today with my friends, we had lunch in Kebabgy. It was a lovely meal while enjoying the view and the music. I didn't have time to thank the staff there, so this review will do it. They are so professional and friendly at the same time. I would like also to thank Natalie for her effort; from her efforts to please us I can tell that she loves her job. I will definitely come again soon with my family! Keep up the good work!

Nice location, need alot of upgrades. May be a 5 star hotel with Egypt rating, but not on American standards. Breakfast was great, rooms as others described are not quite as the doors are not sound proof. Need more attention to details.

The hotel is dated. We were updated to a suite. The bed smelt of cigarette smell. There was also a smell of petrol fumes through the night. I had a headache because of the smell. It was very noisy late into the night from loud music. The breakfast was not the best. Very limited choice. The hotel appears to attract old age pensioners from the US. The carpet and decor is very 1950s. The hotel needs complete renovation. One of the staff was very rude. We had the terrible breakfast they were serving. I was going to reception to pay for it, a staff member must have thought I was going to leave without paying, he rudely shouted for my family to stop infront of other guest. We felt very embarrassed. I felt he was racist because if we were white I am sure he would not have shouted us for to stop. I would like to inform staff at the hotel black people are not thieves and criminals. Shame on the hotel for employing a racist staff.

Ahmed was the best waiter we have ever had in our lives, on any of our travels! He was attentive(but not too attentive). He toured us through the extensive breakfast buffet and explained each area, their local foods and his recommendations. As we ate, he saw when we liked something and would show up with another so we didn’t have to go get more. He brought around a variety of the self-serve items so we could stay seated and enjoy our beautiful Nile view. He was a delight! We will eat here again tomorrow (because the food was also wonderful) and hope we get him two days in a row.

Hotel has the best Nile River view of Cairo. Enjoyed the vista from our top floor room, from sunrise to sunset. We drank tea on the balcony overlooking the Pyramids and Cairo sky line watching the boats in the river. Room was in excellent clean condition, amenity products of the best quality. Bathrobes, slippers and towels were new and fluffy. Staff was very professional and exceeded our expectations in making our stay a comfortable and memorable one. From the moment we walked in at the front desk, we were greeted with warmth. Vip Lounge butlers treated us with top quality service, as we enjoyed the space in the afternoon. Spa and pool team tended to all our needs with a smile. Breakfast was top grade, with an adequate professional team to our disposal. Concierge very knowledgeable and helpful.

I stayed for only one night, all the stuff is very helpful, especially Mr. Hassan in the Reception and a lady I called her yesterday for the room service. Very nice hotel with a very good quality of food. Fast service. I was surprised with the safety, they are taking care to close all the windows if you are staying in high floors.
