Super bummed, great reviews, beautiful looking food, cool little joint... and terrible food. Would have given the food 1 star but the dessert saved it. Got their best aged steak and found it mostly gristle and fat. Not marbling fat, just chunks, while the meat was strangely lean and stringy. Son had the steak too so mine was not just a fluke. Fries were over cooked, chewy and nearly cold. The dessert was really pretty good tho. Service was outstanding and the setting was super cute. But the chairs were essentially metal fold outs so my butt was completely numb and sweaty from the too warm stagnant room. I would eat there again if I was starving and it was free otherwise save yourself a couple hundred.

Excellent small restaurant, lovely and cozy atmosphere with fantastic meat dishes and desserts. Value for money is also excellent and the staff is really friendly.

Embarrassing. This cost 25€. I looked at the plate of other guests and they were served full plates - even with more salad. This is the third time I’ve tried them out and it’s the same horrible experience even after taking a break from them for a few years. I gave them a try again because of the invitation of a friend. I was hoping for the best, but sadly their immortality remains as strong as ever. I am served food like I am a tourist who doesn’t know any better. They’re so desperate for money that they lack ethics and morality to serve all their customers the same quality of food. They sell the off cuts to people they think won’t notice. Kid cooks in the back who look like they’re hanging out at recess doesn’t help matters. Meanwhile, the servers put on overly saccharin friendliness knowing full well they are in the process of cheating you. Sadly, this has become the way of French restaurants. Using English words in your name and menu in an effort to be “cool” and meanwhile you lack quality, authenticity and integrity. Get your priorities straight. How can this country have Italy and Spain on either side of it and yet the food here remains so consistently bad?? Italians and Spanish are still actually cooking and taking time to build flavor and not wasting time with gimmicks like putting “The” in front of every menu item. Working in the restaurant industry and exploring world cuisine and knowing the ins and outs of the industry, tonight’s experience proves again how far France has fallen in not just food but in actual pride. No one with a sense of real pride (and not empty arrogance) serves food like this. How do you sleep at night? Also, who serves undercooked pork? If that was what it even was. Mon dieu. France, please stop resting on your past laurels and do better. Your food was once great, sure. Now it’s absolute overpriced, tasteless, lazy, factory-made horror. Go on. Deny it. I’m waiting.

Compared to other meals we’ve enjoyed at The Bird this was a disappointment. The Crab roll starter was good but neither of the mains were notable. The duck was so tough it was almost impossible to cut and the accompanying sauce was overly sweet. The chicken burger was tasteless despite an excess of sauce. The frites were soggy and uninteresting. The only vegetable was a small amount of lettuce. Service is friendly but it couldn’t overcome dull, uninteresting food.

Delicious and great service! We made reservations a week or two in advance but they could not find it. We were still treated with hospitality and got a table. Garlic bread app was good, and for dinner I got the tuna steak and my husband got the burger- both were incredible! Especially the burger. Would go back in a heartbeat.

An absolute little treasure; simple but nice menu; unpretentious but delicious food; busy but cosy atmosphere.

Delicious food, wonderful service, if I am ever in Nimes again this will be my first stop!

10/10 service, as a solo traveller I couldn’t have chosen a lovelier place- the food was very nice and they had really good tunes playing. The waitress gave me recommendations for other places to go and was very chatty. The decor is also so cool!! would recommend:)

We had a delicious dinner and enjoyed the atmosphere. Helpful, pleasant staff. They were efficient and accommodating to our dietary requirements. A great spot to visit whenever you are in Nîmes.

After hours and hours of travel, I sat down to an atmosphere of calm and a feeling of being welcome. I had the Burrata Salad, Cut of beef and the cheese plate. The Burrata was one of the best I’ve ever had, the beef was perfectly cooked and the cheese was so good that I’m bringing my fiancée here when I return. My servers were great at choosing wines for my meal and very accommodating for my poor English. I entered around 9:30pm and left around 12:30am one of my favourite places to go in my 25 years of travel.

According to the Recommendation "Antichambre Chambres Urbaines" Jean-Luc, we came for the dinner to this restaurant. For dinner we have chosen the 60 day's Dry-aged Entrecote Steak with wine by staff recommendation and an apple tart. Restaurant, food and Service was 10/10 🍾 ***Recommended to all***

Amazing food and very lovely staff. It’s wise to make a reservation as even on a Tuesday is was a full house.

Delicious food, a great atmosphere, genuinely friendly staff. We had a fantastic time, I’m just glad we didn’t go on our first night as we might not have gone anywhere else after this. Make sure someone from your table tries the piece de bouef - the tenderest, tastiest steak you will ever have. Absolutely worth the money.

Great quirky decor, amazing food and wonderful service. The prices are reasonable as well.

Daughter wife and myself visited this week. It was a wonderful evening, one of highlights of our stay in Nimes. The atmosphere is great, friendly laid-back. There’s nothing laid back about the cooking however. Was magnificent, a great menu to cover all tastes, from the salads to the steak and onwards to the desserts. Great friendly banter and great food, perfection. We loved our stay in Nimes, we will be back I am sure.

When looking at the reviews this place has been getting it was pretty dissapointing. The meat did not seem fresh and was way overdone. The chips were greasy and maybe about time to change the oil. The garlic bread were served In sloppy burger buns. However the interiør is charming and down to earth. The prices were steep considering the quality of food. Ate on several bib gourmand nearby which was cheaper and the food quality much better.
