The Calais Wine Superstore

Wine store

👍👍 Great place to pick up a bottle or two of well priced wine. Love going here and trying a glass before we commit and often finding a bargain for £2-3. Can't recommend this place enough People often mention wine, wines, helpful, staff, good, English,

Wine tasting was a little bit restricted, normally it is whatever you wish to taste. Not much of a selection of beers, but it is a wine house. Staff are excellent and more than helpful. We will be going back next year.

The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the wines on offer. We tasted before making the commitment to buy what we had ordered. Overall the experience was great even though we arrived half an hour before it closed. Please remember that it closes 6PM French time and if you can’t make it the order can be left in the lockers

The Calais Wine Superstore, was excellent and the staff are so very helpful and welcoming, the best place i have been too. You can taste some of the wines you can ask them questions very knowledgeable and they are extremely helpful i visited on Sunday 23rd July, as it was near my birthday so thank you to the Manager and the staff for a great experience, we brought some lovely wines and good value, look forward to coming back. You can also get the tax back at the port the staff also were helpful with the process so thank you !!!!

What a place, love it here tried some wines and brought a load home. Super lovely French staff member showed us how to use skip tax even more impressive knowing English is his second language. Fab value for fantastic wine and free tea and coffee! We will be back again!

We love this place. Incredible savings on familiar wine brands - and all priced in UK sterling. We order on line and then simply pick up the wine when we arrive - and it is all ready for us. It is a lovely place to look around with a sampling room (if you aren't driving!). The staff speak excellent English, are meticulous checking your order is correct and could not be more friendly.

Great for last minute wine grab before ferry. We were in and out in 20 minutes. Choosing wine as a novice takes your time. But it was lay out and signage was clear and easy. It wasn't busy when we got there. Parked at the door. There are toilets just in through the door. The cashier seemed pleasant and enthusiastic.

Easy to access. Wines available to taste. Good savings. We bought 48 bottles of wine for about €4 per bottle. Not much beer and NO spirits but the guy advised us about an app to download to reclaim French tax so you could get back almost 70centimes extra per bottle. Worth the visit.

Highly recommend. Wine is at a good price. Staff are very helpful. Remember if you spend over €100 to get the TAX free form filled in to save even further.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We came here to pick up some free wine bottles from our P&O ferry offer, but ended up buying some more. Convenient near the ferry port and plenty of parking.

Our last visit was three years ago pre- Covid, so glad to see that the store has re-opened and is selling superb wines again at a fraction of UK prices, buy as much as your UK duty free allowance allows and you will come away as happy as Larry.

Probably the most genius business in Calais, 100% oriented towards British people and with a fat line of UK plate cars parked outside at every time of day. Prices are in £ GBP and Euros... they even list discounts compared to UK high street pricss. Various wines, sparkling wines and champagnes from France and other countries. There is a bespoke wine tasting room and lots of enthusiastic staff, being the only people in France who will enthusiastically speak English. I only bought two bottles because unlike most of my countrymen I am not a raving alcoholic but there were people outside stacking crates and crates into the back of their cars. Yea this place is cool and pretty funny.

Good if you want to buy recognised labels from the UK supermarkets at a couple of quid below the ticket price in the UK. Very oriented to this market with helpful info on the equivalent price in £, allowances etc. Most of the options in the tasting room also are for these wines. Not so good if you are hoping to taste and then pick out some French wines not found in the UK and hence why we ended up not buying anything on this occasion.

The guys were very helpful and offered clean glasses and tastings. Gave good advice on wines and alternative options. Also knew the legal amounts we could bring with is to the UK. I would like to see more beer options but i appreciate they are a wine shop.

Excellent as ever. Fantastic prices, you must visit if you're on your way back to Dover from France. The tasting room is also very helpful as we wanted to try some new things but didn't want to take home a whole case if we weren't going to like it!

Very limited stock. Even less in the tasting area. Hardly any French wine which seems bazaar. Still bought some bottles as we didn’t have time to go somewhere else. Realised after we left they did not give us the “buy 12 For €x” discounts as advertised. Overall very disappointing. Will not be back!

Visited earlier this year and must admit I was pretty disappointed in their selection of wines. Prices were reasonable however. EDIT: in response to the Calais Wine Superstore’s reply - more Burgundy!
