It's a great place to contemplate the city, meditate and watch a lovely sunset or sunrise. There are two ways to get to the top, one is just going around the mountain until you get to the upper part. The other is faster but you have to climb a bit and be careful, so if you are afraid of heights just go around the long way. I have been there many times and I still feel amazed at the beauty and peace you feel when you get to the top.

Its a nice hike. Not too long and not too short. Great to start eqrly and get there for the sunrise views. Photos are better at that time. There are a mutlitude of different trails networked to reach the top. There are some which are of a more gradual slope than errors. Overall great hike.

Wonderful hike! We took the "easy route" near to the saint statue. Some rock scramble areas, but pretty safe to journey up. Lots of elevation gain so be advised, this might be a little challenging for people that are not regular hikers. Great city views! There is an initiative to pick up your trash in addition to extra that you find! Also watch out for the critters, please keep them safe!

Such a great deal for a small hiking or rock climbing. It's very easy to get here if you're in Guanajuato city (literally, you can get to the top walking without need to take a bus for starting). And even though it's next to the city, there are parts that you forget that and feel really connected with nature. My favorite place here by far :)

Fantastic hike. There is an easy route and a more challenging one, depending on your skill level and taste. The view on the top of the mountain is very beautiful.

Had a great hike up to the top. Definitely do not forget the sunscreen! It was 5 miles round trip. We had an Uber pick us up and drop off us off at the starting point. Trail is not well marked near the top, AllTrails was great for us.

Having lived in this city for the better of seven years I truly enjoy hiking there. The surrounding mountains are definitely worth exploring as well. Nature & wonderful views, the best season of the year to come up is summer during or after the rainy season (September) when it's all so green & so full of life. Don't forget to bring enough water & some snacks.

My friend has been robbed at knife point on this trail. AVOID COMING HERE! Especially if you’re a tourist on your own. The police know who the guy is but haven’t caught him yet. He’s been robbing people for at least 4 years if you take a look at other reviews. Just avoid it.

The view from the top of La Bufa is breathtaking. There is a main trail that can lead you to one of the La Bufa top (I think, I didn't take this trail), and there are many different unmarked trails if you are feeling adventurous and want to climb a steeper trail (which will be really worth it). I got a little disoriented finding my way back when climbing the steep trail so make sure you memorize/mark which way you took going up

Don't go or with a big group. We got robbed by a guy with a knife. Also an other tourist gut robbed by the same guy on the same day. Police knows who the person is but doesn't do anything.

Beautiful area to hike with lots of options to explore. There are caves and nice places to rock climb. Easy to walk to the trail head from the city of Guanajuanto.

Beware of doing this alone. I was robbed at the top by a guy for cash. Leave valuables at home if possible. Beautiful hike. The trail can be a little confusing. In a small group this would be a great little hike that is easily accessible from town. I'd definitely recommend it, just not alone.

It's a great place for a day trek. On the top, you can see the whole view of Guanajuato. It's easy, and close to the downtown.

It’s a good hike and be careful that there’re different routes to the top, some of which can be quite slippery with the gravels and little stones. I took Didi to the parking lot and walked up the mountain.

Amazing view and spectacular landscape within minutes of hiking from the city itself. Great for a challenging run
