This is a hidden gem right out of Europe. Tucked behind Una, frenchies looks like an authentic French bistro. Thursday is 1/2 wine mite-paired with fondue ( a decadent indulgence). Music, style, food, and services were really top drawer! It was a lovely spot to enjoy a beverage after work.

Wouldn't come here again. As the previous review said, the service was awful - specifically from the girl with the brown hair, after dealing with her at the door, we were about to leave but a male server brought us to a table and flipped the mood - drinks are good.

Had the most incredible experience at Frenchie. Ive been once before when they were located in their smaller location, and has since felt like a fever dream because of its long lasting enjoyable memory. Even moving into a slightly larger room, I still experienced that small intimate energy I loved so much the first time. Sundays are half priced fondu and it is second to none. Insanely affordable and equally unbelievably delicious.

Frenchie Wine Bar is hands down THE best speak easy experience in the city. We hosted a party there in mid November 2022 to celebrate me winning an award in my professional field. The ambiance is warm, inviting and very intimate with dim lights and a beautifully decorated bar space. There's adequate seating and standing room for a party of 20 - 25. You can order off the UNA pizza menu which made for an amazing spread for our guests and the wine, bubbly and cocktails were all sooooo delish. The best thing here is their service, from emails with the event manager to the staff on the night of, everything was amazing. They were organized, efficient, made each guest feel comfortable, played the music we wanted, boxed up leftovers so each guest had something to take home. On top of that, we settled the bill that night but our credit card company thought it was fraud so it didn't go through. They patiently waited a week to keep trying the card before I went back in person to pay. They were so gracious and encouraged us to come back another time. I have some family visiting soon and we are definitely going to Frenchie. Do yourself a favour and experience this hidden gem ASAP!

A cool little spot with tons of character and great fondue.

Food was good, I would prefer different option than chips with the dips, maybe sourdough bread or something similar, since the combo was kind of greasy and chips overpowered the taste of the dip a little, flourless cake desert was amazing. Place is intimate with nice atmosphere and moody music. To be honest, I had higher expectations, what would elevate this place is a certain dresscode, and even though you can't force your customers, server wearing a baseball hat does not fit a place like this in my opinion and more experience driven customer service. Overall 3.5, I might come again for the atmosphere and wine, but not on the top of my list.

It was a great place to meet up with colleagues/ friends to enjoy some drinks & good food :) Happy with the drinks I ordered - 1) Happy hour champagne deal 2) violet hour . We all ordered a variety of items off the menu & I can say nobody was disappointed yum

The fondue was very good, I recommend getting the side of baby potatoes! We also tried the Croque monsieur and they were delicious. The prawn and nduja brûlée was good but very salty. Deserts 10/10 we got the hazelnut cake and salted caramel. We sat at the bar and service could’ve been better, bartender was busy we understand, but he could’ve been more attentive. They have a big variety of wine which is nice. Overall the restaurant was great, good vibes, perfect for a romantic date!

Such an authentic, cozy, and vintage-feeling space. Cheese fondue was to die for! Just wish there was more room between tables (had to keep my coat on my lap).

I would give 6 stars if I could! Highly recommend both for excellent food and wine but truly wonderful service! I made a mistake on our reservation and not only were they very welcoming and accommodating but they opened up Little Frenchie to give our group a better place to socialize and enjoy each other's company. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening with truly excellent service. The Frenchie's fondue is a delight, highly recommend with the apples on the side!

Great little spot! Friendly servers, nice cocktails, good wine list, and the fondue is fantastic. Love how it’s tucked away in the back with a moody vibe.

Ok experience overall. Thought it'd be a bit bigger from online pix and really wanted more Frenchie decor. There's a large image upon arrival then nothing else, felt like the designers wanted to play off the popularity of the trend without actually commiting to a theme. Next let down, asked for a sancerre and was met with wine/ champagne tasting from same region, then a bright sauv blanc, then a fruity something... Settled on a nice chill dry french - not memorable enough to note but was tired of making requests. Don't come here for food! It's a pre dinner bevvie place or possibly a private event place (if they offer a different menu). I'd bring out of towners to look cool for an hour then split and go to a real dining experience. Our server was excellent!!! But omg owners - please let her not wear a Barret. It's forced and stereotypical. The pommes frites were great but avoid the putanesca toast. Overall, wish I didn't choose a memorable occasion to celebrate here but glad I know what it is. Could be cool... ? Maybe some currating is in order?

Girls night - we shared a bottle of white & 3 small plates. The potatoes & cream cheese (it has a more fancy name) was awesome, chips & onion dip good & chicken liver & skin thing meh. We also each got a cocktail later in the night. The violet hour - awesome cocktail imo. It cost a quite a lot but was a great experience.

Perfect Birthday celebration dinner out. What a great place to sit and enjoy a great wine and drink list and exceptional food. Tartar was incredible, Frenchie fondue with suggest d accompaniment was perfection. Service was attentive, informed and fun. Great hidden gem 💎

Terrible. Crowded. Fondu was stinky and strange, with not enough bread and strange alternatives for dipping. Additionally, we were sat in a corner, where the servers kept bumping into me, and then told that we could sit at a table after we waited nearly an hour and then when we asked about a table that opened up, they said no. Not worth it and overpriced. Save your money and go to a nicer place.

I came here for date night for their half priced fondue on Wednesday. Really nice decor and a quaint place for a drink, feels very secluded. The truffle fondue was delicious and more than enough to fill up two hungry humans. The bread that came with the fondue was super fresh and soft. Their drinks however are very overpriced and the cocktail menu is not very extensive. Overall nice atmosphere, music, and staff.

Had a great time at this little hidden gem in Calgary. Started off our night with an amazing meal at Bread & Circus before we headed back to Frenchie for a bottle of wine. The wine list is so unique and we were able to try an orange wine for the first time. We really enjoyed our bartender who was warm, knowledgeable and attentive. The owners have done a great job at transforming this small back room into a cozy, intimate space that makes you forget where you really are!

What a hidden spectacular place. I mean I need to become regular because it's the kind of place you expect your drink ready when you walk in. It has this exclusive back room feel that can't be matched. I had an Old Fashioned and it was right on point. The service makes you feel like you are the star of the show. I highly recommend going. That is if you can find it..

My wife booked Frenchie for my birthday. We worked with Maia and it was amazing. She helped us put a menu together with some great wines. She was patient as we waited on our numbers which took stress off us. On the day of the event she had her team ready and they were all a pleasure to work with. The staff had great attitudes and were helpful to all our guests. And the food.......it was spectacular. Every item was full of flavors. We ordered many different items and everyone was a hit. Thanks to your team it was a memorable day for our family.

Great date place, love the decor and music, would make a great place for a Christmas party or small company function. Ideal less than 20 ppl. The servers and bartenders are just wonderful. Excited to go back and have another date night there! Or our engagement party!

👍👍 Loved this spot and their ability to handle a huge crowd during the evening rush. Went there after a new friend told me about the spot. I didn’t realize how big the place was and couldn’t help but notice a crowd had it packed to the gills. There were just two of us and we saw they had a rooftop. Th...
