I can't leave a review for the central park area itself - as you can see from the photo/video, it's under construction. We visited it today, 1st Jan 2024, and that's what we found. Leaving the review here in case you're planning to visit it any time soon. However, leaving 4 stars as the area around is still nice for an evening out, just stick to walking around the main road and you'll find plenty of shops, restaurants and food & souvenir stalls.

This was a great place to feel like you're not playing tourist anymore. Tons of food and other vendors! There were dozens of booths and huts that sold anything you could think of for much better prices than the touristy markets. They had tons of tables and seats. They rented little motorized cars that the kids were riding around on. Great atmosphere. Only open after 6pm I believe. Highly recommend coming here if you want more than just the tourist traps

I liked the park, the people are nice and polite, they had fun without any problems. you can dance as much as you like, there is a food and drink stand, souvenirs, coffee, (foot or back massage: 180 pesos 30 min. feet or back. there is also 40 min and 60 min.) Churros stand costs $60 pesos. I was curious about a stall that had a huge line, they sold 🌽 boiled corn in a cup, of course I went to buy it 😂, prices vary by cup size from $ 25, 30, 50 pesos . boiled green corn with a spoonful of sour cream corn and grated cheese on top. next to it there are several seasonings that you can use, be careful that they are all very spicy. use with caution. 😎😎🙋🏻‍♀️

We stayed in hotel zone of Cancun for 4 nights and came to Parque de las Palapas every night for dinner. To get there we took the R-1 bus. It was an amazing and unique experience every night. The most lively night was Sunday with live music and art exhibits. We got large plates of foods for $3 - $4 USD. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s an authentic local experience and very family friendly.

As a tourist most people sick to the resorts and hotel zone. This local gem was one of the best things about my truck. Located in downtown Cancun away from the hustle and into the heart of Cancun. The people were there every night just having a good time. Singing dancing and just socializing. The food was amazing and cheap. I actually went there everyday I was there. Definitely recommend if ever in Cancun.

Definitely worth visiting to try the local cuisine. You will find everything you can think of to eat, some live music, and very nice vibe. Days to come would def be the weekend. As an added bonus food is cheap.

We had an airbnb near this area and we loved it. There are heaps of food stores open during the day and even the night, the tacos from most of these stores were great ( we tried 3 different ones, all amazing!) Though definitely come here at night this park transforms into an amazing communal area where people just chill out, eat and have fun! The food is great and VERY cheap here, you have every mexican item you can think of here. You can also just enjoy the markets and get a bit of retail therapy. We did some street parking in the area too so you can park up here. “Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

So much authentic food options to choose from. Many locals and tourists who are comfortable exploring visit here. Loved our visit here! Take pesos or cash. Family friendly, lots of artesian stations too. Great for groups and sharing plates. There are friendly homeless who ask for left overs, so no worries if you over order.

Extremely popular meeting place downtown. Families and friends meet up to chat and eat in a lively and busy square. Lots of food stalls and kiosks selling local favourites with plenty seating and a play area for the kids. There are also lots of shops and restaurants in the surrounding streets. It's worth coming just to soak up the atmosphere.

Lots of food stalls, but some didn't look too hygienic. We tried the corn, marquesitas and corn dog. It was nothing wow, 6 out of 10 We had a really good sandwich, down the road from the palapas. I would recommend that one. It's called Changarro de la 30 las palapas

Great outdoor area with lots of small restuarants selling a variety of food. And lots of stands selling souvenirs and stones, jewelry. Also really delicious elotes from 2 stands with a big elote on there cart. Just disappointed with a dessert named Marquesitas, not ad tasty as they look.. Honestly less is better on them. And after trying one I'd say avoid the dry cheese tehy put on it, not necessary.

Great little square to visit during the evenings on the weekend. Local experience with many food stalls serving everything from tacos to churros. Will recommend this for anyone who wants a more local experience. When I was there i saw locals dancing to salsa with a live singer. Had a great time eating churros and dancing with the locals.

I love coming here every time we visit Cancun. The food, the vendors, the kids driving in the little cars, the music, and the people: I love everything about it!!! It's as authentic as it comes, and I especially love that the vendors are super pushy. It's a great place to buy Mexican souvenirs and eat great street food. A lot of locals gather here, too.

I was staying an extra night in Cancún due to my flight being cancelled so I went out to see what the area had to offer and needless to say I was not disappointed. This plaza was busy with lots of people on a Tuesday night and there was live music and an area for kids to play. It was fun to see the parents and their kids driving around in power wheels. Also close by there were plenty of places to eat including restaurants and street food which I couldn't resist. Additionally there were plenty of souvenir vendors where you could buy anything from a luchador mask to bags and Mayan souvenirs. If you're looking to immerse yourself in the local culture this is a good place to go.

Fantastic place to relax and vibe just like the locals! And CHEAP!! Everything here is priced below normal. It's a Large area full of booths, tables and stands to get great genuine food, delicious snacks, jewelry, toys, souvenirs, and MORE!! Lovely live music is always being played, large play area for children, restrooms and plenty of festivities to engage in. The R2 bus will take you within a few blocks of this place. If you're driving, there's lots of parking. Google maps will get you there. There is armed security on foot patrol and in vehicles, so you'll be safe any time of day you're there. Take the time to visit Parque de las Palapas. It's 12+ minutes past the Cancun hotel zone and worth every minute you're there.

Great place to buy Mexican Corn, Marquesitas, ice cream, and other local snacks. Can purchase souvenirs here as well. A supermarket (OXXO) also around the corner in case you need necessities. Sometimes local music is being played at this park. Great Mexican vibes. Love Mexican people 🤍

A great public gathering place. Has activities to keep the kids engaged. Many crafts stores and food options to get a taste of what Cancun offers. Must visit while in Cancun.

A must when in Cancun. Local hangout with amazing food. Enjoy empanadas, tacos, marquesitas, churros & soo much more... While the kids ride electric cars & adults dance. Some of the best eats in the Yucatan.

Absolutely unique, vendors, amusements, food, peculiarities of the culture on display...take a taxi & visit. We visited on rainy Saturday, a bit challenging but still fun!

Looking for some authentic Mexican food? Want cheap prices and a wide range of different things to try? Look no more... Parque de las Palapas gives you the authenticity with few tourists, many different little restaurants and everything at very reasonable prices. You pay around 2-3$ per dish and afterwards can coat your tummy in something sweet from another food stand. It's also a nice place to just sit and relax and watch your children play.

I love visiting this parque because of the atmosphere. It bustles with activity, colors, music and food. Cleanliness is an issue. Bring plenty of paper towels as napkins are hard to come by. The tables are not cleaned. We like to visit the restaurants that surround the park, but do try some of the street food. I like the hot overstuffed potato.

We love coming here on Sundays. The square is filled with vendors. The air is filled with the smells of food. The stage is full of entertainment. It's a bit of Cancun you can't get in the hotel zone. Don't miss it.

Visited Parque da las Palapas on Saturday evening. Saw on stage a really good youth ballet group, a finalist from a ballet festival. Enjoyed their dances from the Nutcracker.

If you are in Cancun, this should be a must see before leaving. You get to experience a lot of culture and really great food here. Family friendly and a huge variety of food to choose from; all of which was low cost and big portions. Will definitely come back!

Absolutely amazing! We have been here a few times, and every time, it's even better. Always food, entertainment, real community, and the best deals from vendors anywhere in Cancun. Among hundreds of people, we didn't spot any other tourists. Real mexico at its finest for sure!

Wow oh wow. Food here is amazing! If you want to get away from your all inclusive hotel food, this is the place. Get a proper tour guide or someone who speaks Spanish. Authentic Mexican food! The empanadas were huge, tacos were crunchy with delicious toppings, and the variety of foods to try was massive.

Amazing local street food market where you'll get the best street food. 💯 local feeling of Mexico! Lots of locals. There's also a few shops with souvenirs, Books and more.

Great spot to enjoy. We went Sunday night and it was packed with food carts and shops. As vegetarians, we found plenty of desserts, but was a little harder to find non-meat savoury dishes outside of papas Fritas. Depends on your ethos and what you eat.

Great local vibes!! Many local vendors and even the souvenirs prices are much less than anywhere else I’ve seen. The performances were lackluster, but the enthusiasm made and atmosphere made up for it. Great experience!! Feliz día de los Muertos!!

Yooo! This place was popping all night until like 12am. Kids, families were out until almost 12 am. I felt every safe. My hotel was a 2 minute walk away. So around 9pm I would go around this place having fun
