Island of serenity amidst hectic Canggu. Yoga classes really great and the 1 week ticket is great value. We had never done yoga before and did 2-3 classes / day. All the instructors without exception made us comfortable and safe, and work hard to ensure all the classes have variations for total beginners and also for experts. Classes vary between being fun, energetic, restful...we had a thoroughly great time. There are plenty of social occupants, really enjoyed chilling by the pool exchanging life stories and travel stories, and plenty of opportunities to meet people over breakfast too. Top notch would thoroughly recommend. The area around is heavily developed though with more development ongoing.

I stayed there for 3 weeks, this place is very friendly, and the staff very welcoming. The rooms are modest, but there is everything you could need. We loved the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of this place, as well as the beauty of the place. Everything is always very clean, the incense and the flowers delicately perfume the courtyard, the swimming pool is pleasant, and one can admire the plantation of multiple medicinal plants that embellishes the garden. Contrary to some reviews read here, the unlimited breakfast is well stocked, balanced, and absolutely delicious. It was a pleasure every morning to wake up knowing that a wonderful buffet was waiting for us. As for the yoga classes, I can't recommend them enough. Each class was excellent, and you could feel through the words of the teachers present at Serenity their knowledge, education, rigor and passion in their practice. These professionals are very good at sharing their love of yoga with their students, and have helped me improve my practice in a relatively short period of time, I was blown away. Long story short, I highly recommend this place if you want to visit Bali!

It’s a place where you can go do yoga eat vegan foods. And you might thinks they supposed to be an animal friendly point! But I claim that it’s not!! I joined yoga classes a couple of days. There was a mom cat crying all the time and all the clients were hearing that. And as an animal lover I found out what’s happening!! . They keep the kittens in a small cage with no light just because mom cat is carrying them inside the clients room. And don’t let the mom meet with the cats !!! Kittens are thin to death. They have many injuries. I saw it my friend saw it. We were kind of shocked ! I try to talk to manager but we couldn’t reach him. These stupid stuff told me that they allowed the mom go inside the cage every 2 days to feed kittens. I tired to explain that it’s a torture!! They apologized and did nothing. They don’t leave them on street neither. Why nobody recognize it. I was loosing my mind but I had to leave Bali. Im still keeping touch with one of my friend in there and she is trying to update me. People considering to go there please do something about it. Please ask about the kittens. And believe me that They’r not good to animals but so kind to clients which pay for the restaurant and hotel !!! Believe me!! Now my friend sent me a video that mom cat in the cage too. It’s they r genius solution!!!! I hated it period!

Cute place with a very “quiet vibe”, but the breakfast was very limited and not that good, no locks on doors. The bathroom was not very pleasant, not because of the cleanliness, but it felt dirty because of the old tiles, no soap, very old shower head, a dirty shower curtain and so on. Really good massage, very nice pool, sweet staff. I don’t think it was really bad, but it just wasn’t the right fit for us. They got great reviews, so I guess that if you want the yoga retreat, self meditation, no talk, you have come the right place.

I had a pleasant stay at Serenity Eco Guesthouse. My 'Freedom' room was very comfy to sleep in. It even has balcony. Very nice to hear the sound of the night and day (crickets, insects, birds, etc) 😊 Shower worked well and I loved the betel leaves smell on their natural soap. Vegan gluten free breakfast was superb. I loved their breads, jams, and porridge.

Do not spend any money and time at this place. Serenity ruined two days of our Bali trip. We could not sleep at all. Our room had no walls so insects and cats with their baby kittens came in woke us up every night we spent there. We had no AC and the staff did not do anything and said we had to pay extra for a room with walls and AC. The vegan food at the restaurant is tasteless and overprized. Vegan food sure does not have to taste like that. We did not even consider doing yoga classes there as the price was unreasonable. Additionally, they tried to have an image of caring for the environment e.g. by recycling the trash. In the morning we saw one of the staff members just emptying all trash in one bag. They are selling a lie to you for a high price. Do not let them fool you and rip you off. After the second night we left.

I stayed here in early March and I was a bit nervous re: reviews of rats and spiders. I had a room which was up one level and it was fine. The power wasn’t reliable but I was ok. The food there is fantastic..! The staff are also wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Also, the yoga on the premises was fantastic. My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer. Close to the beach and in a relatively quiet part of Canggu. I would definitely go back.

I really enjoyed my 10 days here with the yin classes and breakfast buffet being my absolute favourite. Other things such as daily room cleaning, mosquito, shampoo/body soap and spa services being provided were a plus. The staff were amazing and very kind as well as the other guests that gravitate here and restaurant it was easy to meet new friends. I left abruptly and forgot to say goodbye to the staff! It was the peaceful paradise I was really looking for in Bali! Thank you:)

I’ve stayed here a couple of nights, and I’ve greatly enjoyed my stay!! The staff is exceptionally kind, courteous, and friendly. The atmosphere is wonderfully peaceful. I opted for the single twin bed with A/C and a bathroom. My room is spacious and in a great area. Very close to the beach and many restaurants and clothing stores on this street. The food is amazing (all vegan + raw and has great GF options) Breakfast here has been my favorite part of the day. Awesome deals on massage + other spa treatments. Don’t hesitate—just book your stay here; you won't be disappointed! :)

Serenity guesthouse was great for yoga and I really loved that they are eco friendly, looking after the environment around them. The guesthouse has a lovely cat, with three kittens, that lives on the vicinity. HOWEVER as a Vet I could see that the cat was severely under under weight/classifying as starving, which will endanger its life and ability to produce any milk for its kittens. It would be really great if serenity would consider using some of the money made form people’s stays increase any food they are giving the cat. Everyone seemed to think the cat was a great addition to the hostel and found it very sweet, so this would be a worthwhile investment

I have been to Serenity 6 times since 2017 and I just love this place! It is an oasis of calm in an ever-changing Canggu. It's cool how it's constantly evolving. The staff are really friendly and I've seen alot of the same staff since I started coming which makes me feel like they are well looked after. Sometimes you even see them join yoga classes which I really like. I am yet to find another retreat that offers as much variety of yoga classes as this place. The unlimited yoga pass is definitely worth it so you can pick and mix different classes. I always leave Serenity feeling happier, healthier and more centred. May all be happy 😊

I haven't actually stayed here. But I had food here and I took few yoga classes. And I would def recommend it. Great atmosphere. Good quality yoga instructors and nice pool. They offer Ariel yoga as well as sound healing and inversion classes...

The positive side: Yoga classes are amazing, varied and not expensive! From the Staff Aby was really patient and helped me with everything I need it ! So 10/10 for the service I received! The rooms are budget, you get what you pay for and there are very simple. Serenity is very kind and they have anti mosquito cream in each room! The pool was great! 🙌🏻 However, because is an Eco hotel they do not intervene with any animal presence in the hostel, that includes mouses and for what I hear above my hut, rats. This was very unpleasant specially at night! They were running all over and I was afraid of them entering my room. But if you don’t have any problem and you have a similar Eco environmental vibe it will be fine for you!

As a solo traveller for the first time, i wanted to be in a safe place, calm, peaceful with good services. That is everything Serenity Eco House has offered me. I will definitely go back if i am in Canggu because it offers the calm but also is so near from the beach. I have met wonderful people (staffs and travelers) and i encourage you to try a few nights (you ll probably stay longer if you love calm, yoga, beautiful environnement).

I can only recommend Serenity! I've stayed there twice already and both times I didn't want to leave. The atmosphere is very special and I haven't found anything remotely similar on my travels yet. Everyone is very warm and welcoming and everyone is bound together by their love for yoga. The yoga itself is amazing and I really love the teachers. They are all very different but all very good at what they do. Plus they are as well very warm beings. Serenity is also very close to the beach (only 2min by foot) which is perfect for morning walks or sunset hours.

I've been familiar with this place for 9 years now, primarily because of practicing yoga. I've never stayed in a hotel, but this place looks very clean, cozy, and welcoming. By the way, there's an excellent vegan cafe here. But most importantly, Serenity is a wonderful place for yoga practice. There are several comfortable shalas with everything you need for practice, experienced and knowledgeable instructors, a busy schedule, and various yoga styles. As a Vinyasa addict, I'm delighted that there are many Vinyasa yoga classes on the schedule every day. By the way, a personal recommendation, if you want to attend a really deep Vinyasa class, look for Max's name on the schedule. Excellent open-level classes. If you're a beginner, learn something new with precise and helpful cues. If you're intermediate, improve your skills, deepen your practice. If you're advanced, use the full range of your abilities, disconnect from the outside world during class, and enjoy the flow of your Vinyasa. By the way, I personally enjoyed Yin yoga classes a lot; I definitely recommend it – it's an excellent reset :)

Overpriced accomodation (twice as much as similar rooms on the same road), unhelpful staff and nowhere to self practice yoga. If they can't make money from your yoga practice then they are not interested in you. The most un-yogic attitude I have found in 6 years of practicing every day. As a qualified yoga teacher I was left speechless and not in a good way. The social areas are cramped and dirty and appear to be a breeding ground for unpleasant germs and illnesses. Many people here were coughing and appeared sick. After travelling on this trip for over a year and being the owner and founder of two successful and full Wellness hostels in South America, I can honestly say that this was the worst experience I have had in over 15 years of travelling and working in the industry. DO NOT STAY HERE. There are plenty of other Yoga Shalas in the same area that are not money orientated in their beliefs and attitudes and have a far superior cleaning department.

Amazing location and stay with great yoga, massage and pool, so close to surf beach. Great Vegan restaurant next door. Breakfast is incredible.

The best place of massage here. Therapists are amazing. Nyoman, Ria and Sinta have a golden arms for recovering body. I do sport a lot and they do strong and high quality massage! Thank you girls for your work from my body and me.

I stayed at Serenity Eco Guest House for enjoying the Yoga Classes! I really can recommend the Yoga Lessons here! I really loved Dr. HAN'S Yoga lesson. Actually he was only backup but he did kind of a full-moon evening sequence with us and I fully enjoyed!! It is really a shame that he doesn't have more regular classes, I loved it!!! And because of his backgroud as medical doktor he has a great knowledge about anatomy and the right alignement. For those who love invertion I can also recommend Kemie, she is really amazing!!! And also the sunrise Flows with Diaz I enjoyed a lot! I think there a for sure more great teachers but these are the ones I experienced during my stay. Serenity has also really a very good SPA, the Ladies are great! The Rooms are OK. I stayed at a backpacker single room with shared bathrooms. The walls in my room were very weak, I could hear everything, the shower right next to me (as if the person was standing in my room) every chat and every sound outside..in the first night I could not sleep at all because of all the noise and I only had a fan, no aircondition so it got really hot in the room. The meals are nice and have a good price. The service is very friendly. So I would recommend Serenity Eco Guest House. Maybe not for the bedrooms but for everything else!

Serenity is a wonderful place to bring your self to serenity and get you closer to yoga. For around 50 dollars a week you can try out all kind of yoga classes that are offered which includes the typical hartha and vinyasa, but also more special one like aerial and sound healing yoga. I really like the concept that they have many different teachers which can help you find out also which type of yoga teacher and teaching style is best suited for you. Some yoga teachers teach more in a flow, others focus more one the poses and help you correct your pose. Most of the classes are both for beginners as also for experienced and advanced yoga practitioners as nearly all the teacher give you different options of the poses where you can always find the best level for yourself. After a week of yoga I found myself in a class which was described as advanced level, but it was just perfect for me as the teacher gave me options with blocks letting me learn much more then I ever did. I will give here just a few personal experiences of teachers that I had: - The Yoga of Kemie is focussed on inversions which I thought would be really hard for me as a beginner. But she explains a lot and gives great help, which made me learn a headstand already in the second class with her. Highly recommended. - The class of Kadek is more calm and less flow oriented. But I really liked that she focussed on the poses and gives you help to find the right pose for your body. - The class of Dr. Hans is more flow oriented and it was one of my favourites. He is partially working as dancing teacher and you get a feeling of that also in his yoga class. As physician he can immediately give you recommendations for poses based on your physical condition. - Theresa starts her class with a big smile making you immediately feel good. She is also more flow oriented and her yoga gives you a great start in the day. Besides the yoga, there is good food like the vegan breakfast in the alkaline restaurant at serenity. Only thing which bothered me a little was that showers are shared, sometimes noises of buildings sites or a club can be heard and some rooms only have a fan instead of aircons. But the pool is great and serenity is also really close to the beach where you find plenty of surfing options. The Spa team of serenity is also really good, I can very much recommend the organic healing massage. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay especially since the whole team is great and gives you a great welcoming feeling!

Such a wonderful place to practice yoga. I have been in Canggu for many weeks, and Max’s Tuesday evening sunset vinyasa flow has become my weekly ritual. He’s a beautiful soul who really captures the essence and serenity of this island. Max’s class is consistently well-guided, fluid, free from ego, and most importantly... PLAYFUL! He provides a lot of space for self-exploration and creativity, and honors everyone’s individual practice... from first-timers to well-seasoned yogis. Max’s class is one of the things I will miss the most about Bali. 🙏

Stayed here for one night. Wish we could of stayed longer. It’s a good place to stay in Canggu if you don’t want to be part of the party scene. It’s quiet and clean. They run yoga classes and have a yummy vegetarian cafe. If you want some peace and quiet and somewhere to stay and relax it’s perfect.

It is a nice place to put your head, but you have to keep in mind it is an eco place. So there is no extra stuff in the room, not even a bath shop. There is only fan in the rooms, it can be O.K. but all the structure made of bamboo. It means that every sound is heard in the room and out of the room. It was small in the room that came from the toilet so I had to close the door at night so as not to small it. There was also a nice balcony. There is also a cool pool and a yoga class you can take. The breakfast is very basic and if you are not vegan, you don't have anything.

We didn't stay here, but just attended for a 2:30pm vinyasa class with Astri in the afternoon. It was without a doubt the worst class I've ever done! Very dissapointing end to an amazing holiday filled with great classes at other studios. The mats are very uncomfortable and not very grippy, they're also almost impossible to clean so smell quite badly. The class was meant to be a 'vinyasa' flow, open level and we were told it would cater to all levels. The teacher spent more time talking than instructing, and the postures were described in step by step movements, never knowing where we were actually moving to. We spent the majority of the class in downward facing dog or being explained a posture rather than flowing from one movement to the other. I would describe this as a very basic yoga teaching of postures vs an actual flow class. It was not enjoyable nor relaxing. I'd avoid this class unless it is your very first time.

I didn’t stay in one of the rooms but used the spa, pool and yoga facilities. A really fantastic set up for great value for money. Everything you need is here: cafe with large relaxing outdoor setting, beautiful garden, multiple yoga rooms with various classes and hands-on teachers, a tranquil pool setting equipped with reclining chairs and cosy cabanas for extra privacy, pool-side spa treatment rooms with fair prices and attentive therapists, a wide variety of rooms and dorm options. On every visit I saw the manager hold team meetings with all the staff which speaks to how seamlessly and well-integrated this place runs. 10/10

I love love love the yoga at Serenity! It’s such a calm oasis and they offer so many amazing classes with great teachers, 100 percent recommend! The spa at Serenity is also super nice and all the staff is so friendly and welcoming, such an amazing place!

Diaz’s class is no doubt one of my most favorite in the world. The Creative Vinyasa flow he created is absolutely amazing. And how he instructs the details and cautions to each pose to everyone, beginner or advanced students, is one of my favorite things in this class. I’ll miss the class a lot because it’s truly my favorite! Finding a great class you like is like finding the right partner to enhance and treat your body right. It’s difficult and I’m so glad I took this class 🥰

My friend and I went to serenity for an aerial yoga class. When arriving we were only asked by the teacher if we had done aerial yoga before, that’s it - no questions about injuries preferences or any other issues asked by him. (Mind you, there were only 7 people attending this class) it was quick to see that the level in the class was beginner level, four of the seven people had never done aerial yoga before and also weren’t very familiar with yoga itself. We immediately started stretching, which was just dangerous and painful because we did not warm up in any case - how a “ Yoga teacher” Can make his students stretch a complete cold and not warmed up muscular system is beyond my imagination. After 45 minutes of class we started doing hanging front splits and inversions, absolute too high of a level for the people who were there. It just seems like the teacher wanted to show off but he was able to do. One girl pulled a muscle while doing a split - this was her second time doing yoga ever - it was totally foreseeable because a split on a rope is absolute advanced level and not for people who can’t to anything close to a split. From seven people in the class only two of the people were actually able to do inversions with proper technique, all the other people tried and had issues with the stability - the teacher only held their feet up- not even telling them to enhance the core or anything to actually help them improve their technique. I also have to say that we at least cleaned the mats after we finished practicing, but the hanging mats were never cleaned, they reeked of sweat and smelled quite unpleasant. The hanging mat from my friend was moldy on one side. Being a yoga teacher myself, this class was unprofessional and quite dangerous.

Very good Yoga classes. I am a beginner and came 4 times to Vinyasa classes with different teacher each time. All of them were very clear and friendly. The staff is nice and the place is cute but toilets were often dirty, that’s why I removed one star. Great experience overall :)

Very knowledgeable yoga teachers. I went to yoga classes there everyday during my first week in Bali. Besides they have high quality vegan food, coffee and yummy cakes!! I'm so grateful to know Serenity and the staffs are amazingly friendly!!

Although the place really looks amazing for yoga & massages, I only stayed in the hostel part which is what I will judge here: I tried two different private rooms: none of them had access to daylight, hard to get serenity in those jail-like conditions. The non AC room is simply impossible to stand as it’s 10 degrees hotter inside than outside. The AC room would be great if it had a window. In addition to it constructions were ongoing in the hostel all day long just in front of my room, which didn’t help. Apart from this staff is nice but VERY slow, like probably a negative side effect of too much yoga practice, so take care.

This accommodation offers very unique experiences, with wide-ranging wellness and spritual activities. We really enjoyed our time by their pool and the vegan buffet breakfast. Their massage services were reasonably priced and good too. The only cons is there is a large construction site next to the guesthouse and it can be very noisy during the day till late at night

We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay here. The buffet vegan breakfast was really good and filling (selection of different breads and spreads, fruit platter and a hot dish which changes every day). Free water refills and sharing fridges for guests to use. They also have complimentary natural mosquito lotion and a welcome drink. We had a safely deposit box in our room which was great and the mosquito net had no holes. A/C and showers were good. The staff are really friendly and helpful, always have a warm smile. They have bicycles to rent which is quite hard to find but these were rented out during our stay (they also rent scooters). The Alkaline restaurant have a great selection of baked and raw vegan desserts, we had the chocolate and coconut cake which was amazing! They have a health/sustainable shop too. There are 5 dogs that live here but they are quite timid so please give them their space. Location is minutes away from the beach and close to ATM and laundry. The pool was very clean. Would definitely recommend staying here/a visit.
