We travel to Bali every year. For a change we thought we would try Canggu. The Papillon Echo Beach has met all our expectations. Quiet, spacious air conditioned pool view rooms, super comfortable beds, lovely shower. The included daily breakfast was generous with lots of variety. We will be back for sure.

Not bad for the price, but could be improved: - the fish in the lobby don't have air, so they always have mouth above surface to get air ( a small fountain would fix the problem ) - included breakfast has small amount of options, only small changes are made next day - the hotel is next to the loud bar, that has loud music on the weekdays it is not an issue, since it plays music till 21-22, but on the weekends it has music till 1-2 am On positive side: - very good location, 2-3 minutes to the beach - nice staff - well-functioning air conditioning in the rooms - hotel parking

I got one on the street facing rooms which gets battered by loud poor quality rock covers till 11pm.. the rooms around the pools at the back looked lovely.. but mine was annoyingly noisy ( should have so e more research). Apart from that all was fine. Breakfast looked terrible but the coffee was lovely.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!! My room was so dirty! The bed sheets were damp and the room was moulded it felt extremely damp all the time. The bathroom looked like it hasn’t got a good clean in months and the bath shower was awful I looked down one side of bath and it was all green mould! The towels had bleach stains on them. There was a huge curtain behind the bed hiding a dirty moulded wall! My room was facing the street and there was loud music playing across the road and shouting until 1am every night and 3am on Saturday night! Awful experience and it was not cheap for a hotel for the standard of a hostel! Definitely do not book!

One of the cozies place and friendliest staff. Near the beach and lots of bars, coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely reccomend this llace

Amazing place to work remotely. Big clean room, very friendly staff, beautiful garden and pool, very good wifi. They have an amazing mojito in the bar. When you book hotel, make sure you get king size room because they are quiet. We loved it there! Highly recommended! :)

Good location but... 1. It's loud in the room during a night from the club next door 2. Please let fishes in your fountain breath!! 3. Would be nice to offer more than just eggs for a breakfast Advantages: - close to the beach, supermarket. - car parking - nice staff

Nice place to stay, very close walking to the beach The staff is very nice and friendly especially the cleaning 😊 The room I booked was a deluxe room close to the pool, but unfortunately also close to the lobby Here is the minus Don’t spend extra money on breakfast, not worth it The room I got was close to the lobby, so a lot of noise every day, especially in evening, a good advice to the owner, close the hole in the wall, I will show pictures The Wi-Fi there is terrible, it falls out all the time and then you need to login again, speed is terrible, especially in evening 🤪

came to one of the hotels to have breakfast, but it is not breakfast and the hotel is not a hotel, it is like a garbage can. They focus on customers in an artistic way. the room like in the trash And the breakfast is not very clean. I didn't sleep the whole night.

Very comfortable bed, great location close to surf and la Brisa Beach Club, also the let me store my surfboard and luggage overnight when I went o on a short trip to Ubud. Amazing price quality.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here for our honeymoon. The staff was so friendly and the room was very spacious and clean. I really appreciated how close the hotel is to the beach. I will definitely recommend Papillon to friends and family.

If you enjoy being made to feel like an untrustworthy criminal or child, please book. After an incredible holiday in other places around Bali, this was a bitter disappointment for our last night in Bali. Read the T&Cs carefully because terms and conditions come with everything in the place. From being made to sign for everything in the room (it was very sparse, basic and not cleaned well - I had my own beach near my bed) and everything being checked before leaving incase we had stolen something, such as a face towel, in which case we would be charged. To everything being complicated and convoluted! I would not recommend and will never stay again.

What a wonderful hotel. The staff cared for the place with such attention to detail and the gardens were spotlessly clean all the time. The gardens were peaceful and away from the street while the front part was closer to the busier side with the road, bars etc. I have read several reviews complaining about the noise from bar and would say that this wasn't a problem for me - buy some earplugs! It is outside the hotel's control what noise a neighbouring bar makes. All in all, I fully recommend this hotel and want to say that it was the staff that made our stay extra special. Suksma!

Very clean. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. The restaurant was under construction when we visited and they were running a makeshift replacement off the roof which was decent considering, but there’s so many good food options within walking distance that it didn’t bother us. The new restaurant will be on the main floor beside the lobby. Very close to Echo Beach. Would stay here again.

It was an amazing experience during our stay in Papillon. The vibes and the staff are georgeous. Surounding place are amazing too.

i stayed 4D3N in deluxe room with garden view and breakfast included. hotel staff service: friendly and efficient. bedroom: spacious. extremely clean for a 3-star hotel standard. wooden furniture was in good condition. bed was so comfortable and sheets were clean. duvet was thick (heavy) which was unexpectedly good. if other type of rooms have the same quality of this bed, it was worth the price. bathroom: ridiculously so spacious, as big as the bedroom. water pressure was nice. much water hence needed just a little bit to lift the faucet (too high, flood then). hot water was working fine during my whole stay. room surrounding: quiet, waterfall sound from the pool below, sometimes could hear birds chirping, a few times could hear tokek (gecko) sound. room access alternative: walk to the back of the cafe/restaurant and you'll find green lush path then use the circular staircase to go up (if you stay on the second floor). breakfast: plenty of choices. didn't expect much at first but apparently it made my tummy happy. fried rice was non salty type (typical bali taste or standard hotels). having 3 days of different breakfast menu and loved all days. surrounding restaurants: a short walk to la brisa, la baruna, koast, teh manis, smoke bali, garden canggu. up to 10 min walk to penny lane, chow chow, mason, billy ho, sari kitchen, ji restaurant, old man's. up to 20 min walk to hippie fish, sol rooftop, boheme canggu, shelter, mostly, woods pererenan, brunch club. anyway, there were 7 electrical sockets which were very convenient to those who like to put stuff everywhere. thank you so much to papillon for upgrading my room and making my stay a very pleasant one!

great location up the road from echo beach. friendly and helpful staff. wheelchair accessible but ramps are steep but staff and security guard are very accommodating. bar across the street can be loud but most rooms are past the lobby and quiet.

Very close to the beach. 3 pools but only 2 chairs at each one. Very quiet but my room smelled like cigarettes at night. The air conditioning is turned off every time you leave and takes a very long time to cool down again. Good price and good location so I would go again.

Excellent hotel for a very reasonable price. Very comfortable rooms, everything you could need and the pools were super!

We changed rooms as we wanted some outside space as we both smoke,so moved before unpacking and had a room by the pool which was lovely, the bathroom is novel with a so called outside bath as the roof is open yet it was covered with plastic sheeting so not something you can lay and watch the sky in so pretty pointless. The breakfast was good but no milk unless asked for the coffee. The location is good and we didn't mind the bar over the road playing loud music, we went over a few times great food and atmosphere there. Personally not our favourite place in Bali but I believe a lot of people love it so if you want to give it a go I would recommend this hotel.

Woke up night 2 with a weird feeling illness. Suspected it was the aircon and voilá, the thing was absolutely coated in mould when I checked (see photos) Wifi didn't work in my room, had to use data the whole time. They shifted me to a new room where the aircon was clean and the wifi worked but left that night to go somewhere else. Decent place if you get a good room but those things were a deal breaker for me. Also loud at night due to the awful open air band across the road but it stops by 11pm so is ok.

Hotel is nice enough however would strongly recommend staying elsewhere if you are given a room facing the street. The bar across the road plays obnoxiously loud music until 1am every night. They eventually moved us to a quieter room which was basic but nice enough for a hotel at this price. Hotel staff were super friendly and helpful.

Everything is perfect , BUT… The security was kind a rude! Staying here almost for 1 month , im parking my motorbike outside everyday and everynight even is almost full , but i dont know why today im trying to park my bike outside and i see the parking was empty not full as i see usually and suddenly the security tell me to park in the basement with rude voice ! So i have to walk up with my tired leg to enjoy the nice room i have been staying for

In general, this hotel is decent. It's obviously a newer building, with a nice, basic design. The grounds are private, and there are three pools but they are tucked away close to the fancier rooms. I decided against a different hotel in Canggu thinking this one would be quieter. Big mistake. The place next door is playing loud dance music we can hear easily though the windows at 10pm on a Friday. Which is fine if you want to party, but not great for the weary traveler. There's also an unpleasant smell in the bathroom and the power has gone out a few times. On the plus side the adjacent cafe has good food and there are lots of good places nearby for food, drinks, etc.

Great location. Villa room is big with huge bathroom. Great atmosphere. Staffs are friendly. They have 3 different pools. Need to improve on the breakfast and the quality of the foods.

The nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in at the best value. For around $56 usd a night I got a gorgeous room with a bathroom the size of a New York apartment. The views from the rooftop restaurant at sunset were unreal and the food was also good. The staff is super nice and pleasant and the location - literally three minutes from Echo Beach. This hotel will make your Canggu trip x

Clean, spacious, amazing value for money. just 2 mins walk to La Brisa and 15 mins drive to Finns! perfect stay option in Canggu

The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable, even supplying a softer pillow upon request. Housekeeping to front desk and the gardeners are Five Star standard. (From a hotelier!)

Room was dirty, mysterious stains everywhere. It was very noisy due to bar across the road and people going back to their rooms drunk. Aircon leaked leaked into my suitcase and ruined clothes beyond repair staff was trying to blame me for it. The manager couldn’t be bothered to deal with it. The best bit was that they questioned me regarding a small plastic liner of the waste basket in the bathroom. Overall a bad experience
