“No Frills, Awesome Prices, Great People, Super Clean, Lovely Staff for the Win!” I stayed here for 2 months while looking for a yearly villa to rent, and I can tell you first hand that this place is fantastic. Location, Location, Location. You'll probably end up renting a scooter from them (everyone does). But I decided to walk everywhere, and that was no problem at Bima Sakti. Located a 5 minute walk from Echo Beach and Old Man's Beach, it's really ideally situated. Deus Ex Machina is just up the street (parties there on Tuesday and Sunday), and Taco Casa is about a few hundred yards away (as authentic as Mexican food gets in Bali). The wifi is free an stable enough for most of your internet needs (it even managed to stream my AppleTV). There's a free (super simple) breakfast every morning of fruit and jaffle (basicly toast with jam presses between the slices). The staff will help arrange anything and everything you could need, from airport pickups for friends, and laundry to food delivery. They'll clean your room upon request, and the pool is always sparkling. The best part is the other people at the hotel. It's a great mix of expats and travelers, and many people there were repeat customers. The terrace overlooking the rice fields becomes an impromptu drinking spot at sunset, and then people break off into groups for dinner and drinks elsewhere in the neighborhood. Prices are cheap compared to everywhere else. I paid a monthly rate of $450 (6M-IDR). It's more the less time you stay. They offer king beds and doubles for groups. The air-con is STRONG. I highly recommend Bima Sakti for anyone looking for a place to call home while in Canggu. Room Tip: First floor rooms are the noisiest. Second floor for meeting friends. Third floor to keep to yourself

Man this place was bad. I stayed here a couple of years ago which is probably closer to the time the photos of it were taken. Back then it was good, now it’s shabby, run down and has a plethora of issues. Firstly and probably most importantly, when we woke up we found bed bugs. I don’t accuse a place of this lightly as I know how serious it is but this place 100% had them. The headboard was covered in bed bug excrement and I spotted two bed bugs in the morning. Judging by the excrement stains and the state of the headboard I can’t believe this was the first time someone in the room I was in had complained about bedbugs, if they put us in there knowing they were present that’s even worse. I ended up with around 20 bites not to mention all the time and money I have to spend cleaning clothes and bags. The decor is tired and effected by damp. WiFi was awful. There were loads of mosquitos in the room. The bedsheet wasn’t a bed sheet was actually a bed skirt (valance). This sat on top of a mattress which had a cover on it (presumably to prevent bed bugs getting in to it) which was almost like plastic so the top sheet slipped all over it. In isolation I’d forgive anyone of these issues, I’m not that fussy, but together it just amounts to place you don’t want to stay.

Great value for money. Room is very spacious, comes with TV and a spacious balcony too (I stayed on upper floor unit). There's a kitchen/fridge/water dispenser that you can use too. Nearby to many F&B outlets. Beach is just 15minutes walk.... Or one big Bintang beer duration lol.

Close to the beach, restaurants and local pubs. The workers don't speak English very well difficult to speak with them. The room was clean but the bathroom I think it was never cleaned, it had sand everywhere. We booked the room with breakfast included but they had very little choice, always eggs and the kitchen was opened and we were able to see how they made it. Then we rented some motorbike which were terrible one worse than the other. One didn't have enough strength, the other one had the fuel borken, so I recommend not to rent motorbikes here.

Very nice homestay in canggu. We wäre there before our Dive course in the Water Workx Diving school in Padang Bai. Very friendly people and tasty meals. The breakfast in the outside kitchen near the pool was very very good start in the morning. They have also a little shop in the front, laundry service and scooters you can rent.

Good location, but the air conditioning was really bad and made a noise. The toilet didn’t flush very well and the toilet door didn’t shut. There were ants everywhere in our room and in the room next to us.

👍👍 What a great location for an outdoors gym. Two decent size work out areas with all of the weight lifting stuff you may need, and the most iconic surroundings of incredible architecture, great gardens and little temples. It is best for strength training rather than cardio (only one treadmill). For 35...
