Good hotel. Pricing reflects the quality. Comfortable beds, super nice staff and good location. The room does have any desks or small table and I would like to use my laptop at the moment I don't have any solution to use it on my bed or go outside to find a table next to the pool For the price you pay its good I guess, great area and not to far from shop and restaurants. I was surprised this hotel donā€™t have any parking near by. Even for motorcycles, you should park on the road in front of the hotel

The place itself is beautiful, location is also good and the pool and greenery are really nice, the room looks nice at first, until you figure out the source of the terrible smell. The rooms is literally filled with mold and humidity. The mold is everywhere, all the bathroom bamboo boxes covered in dark black mold, the mold is on tiles, in the head of the bed, in the curtainsā€¦. And the general equipment etc is very worn off, beddings with stains, towels, woodā€¦And the smells does not leave, even with drying mode of the AC or opened door. There is also quite a serious construction going on since instead of maybe renewing what they have they just decided to add more rooms and let the old ones rot. The smell was really unbearable, they know about it, but nothing is done. Someone really screwed the construction planning as there is no daylight and no sun coming in the room, there is nonsensual backroom wet space that doesnt have ventilation thats why the whole room is rotting. I guess they decided to build over the initially opened space. Sometimes giving more thought to design and material use is quite handy, otherwise the whole place will soon be unusable for hotel purposes. As for breakfast, itā€™s nice to have it, the smoothie bowl one was nice, but the avocado toast very disappointing. Pool are looks nice, but there is hardly any sun at all.

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The room was cozy, although the towels and bedding could use a bit more attention to cleanliness. Loved the pool, water was super cool and refreshing. On a side note, finding the hotel was a bit tricky, the parking had a huge sign with the hotel name, but there were no clear directions on how to actually locate it.

I strongly advise against staying at KEMILAU Hotel & Villa in Canggu. Despite its friendly staff and clean rooms, the ongoing construction noise and site surrounding the building make it a highly disappointing place to stay. The incessant hammering and drilling create an environment that is far from tranquil, making it challenging to find any peace and relaxation. Moreover, the construction site overlooks the pool area, causing an average noise level of 85 dbs, which renders it virtually unusable for guests seeking a quiet and enjoyable poolside experience. Until the construction is completed and the noise subsides significantly, I would suggest considering other options for a more pleasant vacation stay.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! On arrival couldnt even find the place due to lack of directional signage, relied on driver to help. During check in and after handing over a 500k IDR security deposit, we were then told that construction is going on and there would be construction noise between 11am and 5pm. (Construction started at 8am). We were offered no compensation for this disruption to our stay. Walking through to the room we did not get the best vibe or feeling of a ā€˜homeyā€™ stay. To our disappointment we found the room unclean, with the linen all having stains on them. Dirty marks on all the curtains. Water staining marks along the length of the bed head boarding. Leaking air conditioner with water on the floor. Dirty toilet seat lid marked with brownish stains & not screwed on properly. Bathroom is completely outside, not sound proof we can here people below showering, using the toilet, talking and playing music on phones. Also because of the non inclosed bathroom bugs are getting into room constantly. Limited power points. Eg. Frustrating having to unplug lamp to use charger for phone. It was quite obvious that the shower head and shower hand held unit does not get cleaned as the build up of soap scum was not pleasant to look at. We had spent less than 30 minutes here before making the decision to book other accomodation as it was not welcoming or comfortable and after trying to communicate our concerns with staff ( the only lovely 1 staff member on front desk) they couldnā€™t provide us with any alternative options or solutions that you would usually expect with major concerns. At 4.30pm we asked staff to kindly change our bed linen to clean sheets before we left to go for a walk. After returning at 9.30pm the linen was not changed and we were told our ā€˜clean doonaā€™ will arrive at 7.00 am the next morning??? . We had to sleep with the doona that had many stains. Needless to say we were excited to leave after our 1 night stay ā€¦Very disappointed. Will NOT be recommending!!

The place is nice, pool very clean and spacious. Breakfast is average for Bali standards. The room we stayed in was very dark, there was no ventilation in the bathroom and there was a very MOULDY smell in the whole room. The staff knew about the problem (ā€žsometimes water in buildingā€œ) but didnā€™t offer a solution. ā€”> cannot recommend the place - at least not the downstairs rooms. PS there are some extensive construction works in the hotel - sadly we only got to know this after the Check-in. Also no compensation/solution at hand.

Beautiful venue, staff were very friendly, attentive and extremely helpful. Rooms were very clean and tidy; bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The pool is stunning and is one of the first things you notice when you check it. Very quiet and chilled out place. Only thing I can fault is that the bathroom has some little decorative vents which, whilst adding to the relaxed atmosphere, made our voices and the voices of the room below us travel when we were in the bathroom. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful Affordable Villa in the Centre of Canggu Super clean and beautifully designed Villa. We were on the ground floor and the rooms were huge with a stunning bathroom and courtyard. Was also so nice to have a front veranda facing the pool. The pool itself was a nice size too as some in Bali can be miniature. The breakfast was a highlight! Great options and all really fresh. There is currently construction going on at the Villa and beside - we were aware of this and they did apologies many times but can be annoying if your after a really peaceful break. Would be nice if there were some communal chill out places.

What we experienced in this hotel in two weeks: 1. A mouse was found in the room!! 2. The staff called and came to the room at 9 or 9:30 am every morning asking if we would go for breakfast (even though breakfast is until 10 am!) and if we would like cleaning. There was absolutely no escape from this! 3. There were no sunbeds or relaxation area by the pool or any other recreation area. 4. There was construction going on in the hotel and next to the hotel. It was terribly noisy and dusty. 5. The apogee of this nightmare was the theft of money from the room!!!! First, I lost a hundred euros from my bag. I didnā€™t say anything, I thought that I had lost it myself. But after that, i put all the remaining cash in my wallet and hid the wallet in my suitcase. On the day of departure, I checked my wallet and did not find two hundred dollars there!!!!!! The girl administrator didnā€™t even try to help, she started telling me that I made it up and blamed the staff. In general, think a million times about overpaying for such a terrible hotel. You can definitely find much better options for less money.

Was expecting more for this price... Like what others said. Its kinda mouldy here.. Even the bottles of water they give u have mold on the lid as they use reusable bottles. Big unit space allocated to u. But they give u a patio which no one uses as there's no sun or ventilation. They use some kind of zinc roof for the room? So u can head the rain drops pitter patter through the night. Only 2 power points in the room. No chair no table (just bed side stands). Water pressure was good. Breakfast in bed was decent. Aircon is cold. Would not be back

Great location (many restaurants and bars within walking distance) and nice staff but the following would need improving: 1) mold in the toilet, as thereā€™s no mechanical ventilation fan so all the water is trapped inside. there were also mold marks on the walls of the room, 2) the wifi connection in the room is not great, 3) the breakfast is quite average albeit free as compared to other hotels. there were also no table or chairs in the room if you want to have breakfast in the room. However, shower has good pressure and they put an air purifier in the room to manage the mold. Stayed on the lower floor so perhaps upper floor may be better.

Stayed one night in the 3 bedroom villa. It was a bit of a weird layout having ranch sliders for them master bedroom doors, awkwardly having to open close the curtains and doors. The kitchen had a full size fridge and a stove but very little utensils to cook with. Pool was clean, beds and pillows were good for a nights rest. Shower and bath were nice with enough pressure and hot water. Wifi was adequate enough to stream and browse, a little slow to download larger files. Reception staff werenā€™t that welcoming but the restaurant staff were really lovely. There was still construction happening next door but wasnā€™t that noticeable unless you were outside by the pool and the doors were open. Bonus being able to check out at 12pm.

In one word. Horrible! I got woken up in the middle of the night by water pouring out of my ceiling. I called the reception and they came to help me. They were very qucik, but barely spoke any English. Then I got escorted to a new room and they gave me the new key. Later, I found out this was the master key, so I had access to every room in the hotel. If I wanted to, I could go into anyone's room and take anything I wanted. When I entered the new room I wanted to go to sleep as soon as possible but when I lifted my sheets there were a lot of big stains on the bed. There was no way I was going to sleep in the bed, so I called again, but no one answered. I spent the rest of my night on the balcony watching the thunder, sunrise, but sadly not the inside of my eyelids. The next day, we had breakfast. However, the nasi tasted like it came out of the microwave, and the smoothiebols had a "fridge" taste as if they were leftovers from the day before. After breakfast, we went to the reception and confronted the manager with all of this. It didn't seem like he really cared, and we demanded a refund. Later that day, he came bringing the cash to our hotel.

I have stayed at Kemilau twice this year and both times it has been amazing. The location is excellent, the staff are amazing - kind and helpful! The food is wonderful and available 24hrs a day, itā€™s a nice quiet hotel, very clean and central to everything. I wonā€™t stay anywhere else now! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had only one night, it was fair price per value, but the current construction works had some bad influence during the stay, but not significant Absolutely nice to stay for few nights

female employees are very unhappy and have a negative energy, but men are the opposite. When I wanted to have my second tea at breakfast, they said it was an extra charge, which is really ridiculous. I got a room with breakfast included and it costs extra to drink my second tea.

I recently stayed at the kemilau and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The first issue I encountered was the poor soundproofing in the rooms. I could hear noise from the inconsiderate guest on second floor and neighboring rooms, which made it difficult to relax and get a good night's sleep. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing. The sheets were dirty and the pillow had an unpleasant odor. Additionally, I experienced water shortage during my stay, which was quite inconvenient.i had to call reception twice to resolve the situation which is beyond ridiculous. Also the air conditioner in my room had a water leakage problem, leading to a damp and uncomfortable environment. The water kettle provided in the room was unhygienic, which raised concerns about the overall cleanliness standards of the hotel. Moreover, the shower head and toilet seats were dirty and stained and there were mosquitos everywhere, which made my stay quite unpleasant. I also noticed mold in some areas of the room, indicating poor maintenance and cleanliness. Adding to the list of grievances, there was noisy construction work happening during my stay, which disrupted the peaceful ambiance I expected. Despite these issues, I must acknowledge that the hotel had a good location, which was convenient for exploring the city. The staff members were friendly and helpful, which somewhat compensated for the other shortcomings. In conclusion, my hotel stay was marred by various problems such as bad soundproofing, lack of cleanliness, water shortage, unhygienic amenities, mosquito infestation, mold, and noisy construction. However, the hotel's good location and friendly staff were the only redeeming factors in an otherwise disappointing experience.

I just wanted to say that I had a lovley stay recently. I loved the room decor and I can't thank the staff enough. Susan and the team were very helpful with helping with with a delayed luggage sulituation. The hotel is also located in a great spot. Very close ro the main strip in Canngu. I would definitely stay again.

Can smell mold in the room, funny sound comes on overnight in the room, lots of things wrong, unfortunately not a good experience for us

Pretty place and quiet, but the room has mosquitoes, really damp, moldy, some rooms had bed bugs/ticks and breakfast is rather really bad, plus the air filter needs service. But employees are friendly, tho needs a little improvement here and there. Wont recommend to anyone.

Hotel is not finished yet. Do it's a little bit of walking on a construction site. But the pool, reception & room were very nice & tidy. Nice atmosphere!

  • 3/5 J T. 1 year ago on Google
The room is small but fine for a solo traveller. But it isn't sound proof so one could hear the neighbors talking and also staff room is nearby and could hear staff chatting. Renovation works are on going so it is also noisy in the morning at 8am plus. Breakfast is merely average. No proper socket point to charge handphone so I need to unplug the table lamp to do so. The only plus is the location as there are nice cafes nearby.

  • 4/5 Ary C. 3 years ago on Google
Big room, well designed. But there is some problem with the curtain, it cannot cover the window properly. The towel looks old, dirty and there is some hole in the edge. The bed sheet quality needs to be improved, it feel weird on the skin. The view and location was good, near many restaurant and cafe.

Booked a 2 rooms for a family trip but they said those rooms had problems with the AC so they upgraded us to their 3br villa which was indoors with a pool, spacious, bice design. Location was GREAT. Super close to restos like baked and more. BUT BUT BUT 1. They didnā€™t let us use the third room - ok fair cz we paid for two but still cmon might aswellā€¦ 2. The floors were crying water. our the kitchen and one bedroom flooded throughout the night. (Proof in photos. Screenshotted from a video i took) The staff helped clean but it continued to flood so we woke up with water everywhere in one bedroom. I guess nothing they could do at that point cz im guessing the pipes under the floors were brokenā€¦. they need better preventative maintenance. Worse part is i dont know if that water was clean or from whereā€¦ I also asked if we can get a refund if we decide to move out and at first the receptionist kept saying no and i asked him to call the hotel manager but he said the hm is on holiday on the weeekend. So i said pretty pleassssseee call the hotel manager and the receptionist finally called the hm. Finally, he did call the hm and They said they would give us a refund if we wanted to move out. It was too late at night so we decided to stay. 3. The villa was very dark in the kitchen and living area. Donā€™t know why they didnā€™t put more lights. The kitchen only had very basic utensils. No scissor or knives. Only found plates, drinking glass and utensils. 4. The sofa and carpet had some holes. I assume from cigarette burns. Ew I had high hopes for Kemilau, but it was drowned by the flooded room lol
