Only open during summer, 1 Nov during the week and from 1 Oct only weekends. The sign not correct and noone picks up the phone, dissatisfied with waisting our time as we drive out for day just to come to close gate.

Nice braai areas, with table and seats. The area needs a good clean though. Broken bottles, papers, sigarette buds scattered. Toilets in need of toilet paper. The are incredible, water way too cold to swim, but that is a personal preference.

If i could give it Zero stars i would. This park says strictly no alcohol, and EVERYONE was drinking alcohol openly. Not behaving! You can NOT let your kids wonder around the park as its dangerous people that consumed way to much alcohol, There is no-one checking bags , or security guards checking that everyone is behaving or adhering to rules. There is broken glass everywhere you look and walk, even in the shallow waters, Kids are not safe here. Glass bottles laying everywhere, its actually disgusting. I will not go back there, and strongly advise everyone to choose a different venue. I wanted to go as far as asking for a refund cause i paid to get into a dumpster. But the pictures online made me believe it was nice and clean,. There isn't even grass, its dry sand now, not well maintained. Very unpleasant.

This is a lovely place for a family day. Amazing picnic and braai facilities. Pick any spot and you are guaranteed an amazing view. Many swimming spots and entry fees are very reasonable. This place has historical significance and is a must see!

Oudekraal Braai and Picnic site is a place to be on a summer beautiful day. There is a lot of braai spots around but you need to be there early in order to get the best spot. With the natural tree acting as natural umbrellas, this is a beautiful place to be. Its friendly for the whole family including kids. The shallow waters allow for every age to be able to swim. The place opens at 8 and closes at 4. Note that there is a minimal entrance fee at the gate. Its great for all day outing. The views of the place is nothing short of awesome. Definitely going back to this beautiful place

A serene beach with beautiful braai spots…BUT… alcohol were allowed on the premises and every group had their own bluetooth speakers with their own music. The beach had some pieces of glass beer bottles. If you are looking for a picnic spot in the nature to enjoy peace this would not be it. If you don’t mind all the noise and the alcohol this is still a true magnificent spot.

Was an awesome place to let loose and enjoy the natural beauty of Cape Town. Wonderful venue for events, splendid views and a great beach for dipping your toes, or if you're really adventurous, taking a swim!

Hidden gem, mainly because you have to pay R40 to enter but worth every penny for a well maintained beauty of a beach. If you enjoy solitude and quiet it is definitely the place for you in the week. Gets busier with families on the weekend as it is a picnic site.

Very few parking spots so if you going try to go early or take a cab,it's the perfect braai spot ,there are a variety of braai spots with concrete chair and table s and braai area carry your own grill.there is. A small beach but the water is freezing cold but on a hot day it's the perfect cool down spot.i think it's such a relaxing environment.enjoy

An incredible piece of paradise that is sadly neglected. Rubbish, broken glass, loud music, alcohol use, and general bad behavior ruins what should be one of the best places in nature. A broken window story

Awesome braai spot right on the beach. Only issue is that they only accept cash - They really need Snapscan or a card machine

I love it because i come here early to get the best spot.. Where the sun is shining but you are in the shade. I love it because Family can enjoy their hearts out with the most important thing at the best spot you can see the children while you are busy preparing the food. And my phone is not expensive to show you.. It truely is a cool place to be. I give it 4 stars because so much i love it.. Im sorry I cant swim.. I am more controlled in pool then the ocean. TOTALLY LOVE OUDEKRAAL.

  • 5/5 Nino W. 4 years ago on Google
This one if the best beaches in cape town. It is totally secure and one is able to braai there as well. Over weekends it can be crowded so arrive very early. In the week you have the entire place to yourself.

The two stars are not for the location. The location is beautiful. It is for the poor upkeep of the facilities. The male toilet had no hand soap or towels. The one toilet's flushing mechanism was defective hence the toilet could not flush. The floors in the toilet were not cleaned properly. Rat pooh in the corners. If the facility manager just does regular inspections this could easily be a great facility. I have been to other Sanparks facilities that were run exceptionally well.

Enjoyed Oudekraal very much. My first time visiting. Parking is very limited so be early. They open the gates at 8am but there was a bit of a line at 7am already. Bring umbrellas or a gazebo for shade as there aren't many shady areas. On the day we visited it wasn't packed so it was enjoyable. Braai areas and picnic table was adequate enough. Water points are near to braai spots and the toilet was relatively clean. Rangers are visible so felt safe.

Second trip to Oudekraal in two months, which i haven't been to in yeeeaarrss before this; took customers that wana go spend the day. It's abit far out, and once there, you better make sure you took and have everything...coz needing more ice for example, will be a problem... Overall, one awesome place to hang out with friends and/or family...

Absolutely a must braai picnic spot in Cape Town. Just remember you have to carry all you goods down the many stairs to your picnic spot to travel light. Braai area with table and chairs all over the site and very safe swimming area to cool off.

San Parks run area within the nature reserve. Between camps bay and Llandudno. Beautiful quiet beaches and rock pools that are protected from the wind. There is an entrance fee but covers cleaners and facilities. Free if you have a wild card. Great for families with little ones and those who want to braai next to ocean.

Great spot for a large group of friends or work colleagues to hang out and get together. Excellent views over the ocean while you braai with your folks is breathtaking

  • 5/5 yvonne k. 4 years ago on Google
Great braai spot, pillars put in place, just need wire grill or mesh, wood, charcoal and meat and you good to go. Right next to a beach. Has no overcrowding, perfect spot especially for family outings. To get cosy you can bring your camp chairs, towels, small gazebo, cos it gets hot. Although if you get there early you can get pick are nice spot where there's shade. Parking is available but limited. No wheelchair accomodation, long, very long stair cases. This place is hidden in a mountaneous place along the Victoria Main road heading towards houtbay as you drive you might miss, but there is a board although not written in very huge characters that points to the place. For entry you have to pay for, a small fee which changes dependent with season, kids also pay, price is dependant different age groups. To confirm on that you can get in contact with Sanparks. The spot is also hireable for events, wherether corporate or weddings. The perfect spot to have a beach wedding really beautiful place. And has a alot of nice spots to take great pictures, if you wanna look like you at some Caribbean beach island its has the perfect rock shaoes, water colour, beach sand to get that view.
