23 years ago I was a frequent patron at Long Street. My friends and I knew the workers etc. Life changes and well I brought my kids to this pool and they enjoyed themselves, however the aesthetics of the pool area has since deteriorated so much. The saddest part is that the potential is there. I still have a huge love for this place, however let's start caring for all our public spaces. I am a patron and I'd love for others to admire what we have. For me, get greener, plants, change the bleenches to a neutral colour or upgrade it. Pros.. Lifeguards who are very visible and attentive. Small backyard for some sun bathing. All year round swimming. Cons have been listed above and in other posts as well. Swimming in undies to be alleviated, no matter who, kids or adults and babies to swim with proper swimming attire. Price is steep if you looking to just do cardio, best would be to find out about seasonal passes or annual pass.

A nice place but needs a serious upgrade. There's plants growing through the walls, also they allow people to swim in the underwear that's awful and not great. Also the lifeguards are always having conversations amongst each other and not looking after the kids. Must say it has serious potential to be unbelievably beautiful. The bathrooms are awful they've been the same and need upgrading. It's worth going once and never again.

You did and I didn't swim. Although I did not find special rooms for my suitcase and there were no private rooms in the bathrooms, I was noticed in getting my money back, and the reservation did not return my money to me, claiming that they had entered it into the system. I was stolen

Peaceful early Sunday morning swimming--not overly crowded so little ones can enjoy confidence while taking swimming lessons - water at a reasonable temperature & clean all over except for the ladies toilets not having a proper cleaning & stench definitely needs attention 🤢🤢🤢for the entry cost one would expect especially the toilets more hygienic & proper cleaning attention🤔🤔🤔

Had a youth group there on Saturday and staff and lifesavers made us all feel welcome and were very very helpful. In picture attached you can see how they gave some a quick swimming lesson. Thank you once again . From NAC YP group

The pool facility is very good, although the overall 'bathes infrastructure' is in fair condition. Swimming in the pool is fine, and the pool water is heated.

Very disappointed at the maintainence if Long St Baths. The website showed false information of a Turkish bath, sauna and steam rooms. None of these are functional. The interior building is completely neglected with tiles peeling off the walls. Mould, cracks and bad roofing. The locker rooms are so neglected. The lockers itself were damaged in the female section. All bent as if vandals were trying to get into people's lockers. The pool was definitely the highlight as it has been upgraded. The temp of water was 21 as the pump was not working due to continuous load shedding. So there was no hot pool. Thank God I did not take my foreign visitors to this place as I wud have been extremely embarrassed. The Manager was very apologetic about our experience. The staff were very friendly and felt embarrassed for our bad experience. I suggest you please update your websites to what the reality of the Long St Baths has become.

A haven in the city for swimmers. If you're looking for a warm winter workout, strangely this is the warmest place to be. The staff are amazing and friendly and I've enjoyed this small community of swimmers. Tip: aim for 8am. 7am is usually busy and by 7:45 is starts clearing up. Most people get a swim in before work. There are plugs in the bathroom for a hairdryer and the bathrooms and showers are very clean.

It's the only indoor public pool in the cape town area that is dedicated to swimming. It's warm and is kid friendly. Many swimmers come to do laps here so be on the look out for those serious swimmers too as you might be in their lane while you splashing around

Very well maintained, clean and nice cool pool waters, although I thought the waters would be warmer...only challenge was that we could not use the ladies shower as this was out of order...otherwise great experience and wonderful to see how well the place is maintained after all these years (looks soooo much better than the local community swimming baths)...

The water was great. It's clean. It gets pretty loud because it's indoors. And there are no plugs....but it was lovely.

Very disappointed that after 5 decades there has been no upgrade on the place. They could have done that during COVID. Not even a coat of paint!

Great indoor pool experience for everyone. The showers/changing room could be neater. The lockers are in bad conditions. There could also be more toilets.

The staff very welcoming, always excellent service. Sort of like swimming at a family pool. Lifeguards are very alert, nice place to kill some time.

My kids loved it. They had fun and wouldnt leave the pool without a bribe. The fact that my 11 year old who is a confident swimmer could use the bigger pool and the 7 year old was as happy in the kiddies pool helped to keep us all happy and occupied. The toilets and showers are not very appealing however in the bigger scheme of things it was a minor issue for me.

Wonderful indoor pool. Has a children's pool as well with life-gaurds on duty keeping an eye on things. A valuable part of Cape Town's heritage. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely Queen of Long Street, may have been forgotten by some but she still shines. Has a great swim, friendly and helpful staff. Thank you your Majesty.

Really needs an upgrade on everything. Showers not working very clostafobic bagh rooms very outdated seating and not 2 clean pools. Nice when you like the indoor swimming. But use where closed for a long time but see no upgrades ..Make it nice so we wanne be their all the time. Definitely new toilets and showers need and make lockers usable so we can use it.

👍 The are 4 pools. Plenty of room for people of different skill levels. Affordable entry fee. Pool opens at 7am. It's best to go early and get in your workout before the crowds build up. Maximum capacity is at 1200 people. Life guards are visible and viligant.
