Oh man. I had the worst Dr’s experience here. I was seen by a certain red haired Dr. I was the last patient for the day and I had made an appointment. She was in a hurry the whole time, she was cursing banging things and basically rushed me out the door as I tried to explain things. All she kept saying was “I am late” for whatever it was. If she knew she was late, she should have had a different person see me then, why did she agree to see me if she was late? They took my full R600 for the worst experience in my life of seeing a Dr. Suffice to say I didnt go back for a followup.

Totally useless snowflake Dr with short blonde hair replaced a very well respected and senior Dr in December 2022. She didn't bother with basic tests that any caring and diligent (and competent) Dr would perform. She operates with a gmail email account that she never replies on. Is uncontactable for anything via reception (she goes shopping a lot while you try get your results). Doesn't care for her patients. If you go there, avoid this so-called Dr with a double-barrel name.

I love this doctor. I don’t even live in the area but I would never give up this doctor for anyone. Dr Miller is my assigned doctor and she is the best. She says it like it is and brings me down to earth when I am over reacting. She always knows the cure. She is very knowledgeable on the different medical aid schemes too which is very helpful. Dr Miller is super kind and caring. I hope Dr Miller stays around forever :)

I had a very important prescription to collect that I was promised would be ready in time. Despite numerous calls and promises I was ignored and both the doctor and receptionist left for the day without calling me. This, along with regularly poor communication and long wait times, is extremely disappointing. I also asked my doctor recently to charge my blood tests privately instead of to medical aid, and she ignored that. With Dr Cornell no longer there I will have to find a new clinic.

I had a very positive experience here. If you make an appointment, you shouldn't be kept waiting very long at all (longest I waited was 10 minutes, which is standard practice most places). I met with Dr. Van Ketz during both my visits, and not only were the facilities admirably clean and cared for, but the doctor herself was just wonderful. She was sympathetic, kind, and very knowledgeable. I'm very grateful a friend recommended this clinic to me!

I was a patient of Dr Cornell's at this clinic for about 3 years and was very happy; he was always reachable & promptly responsive. When he retired I started seeing Dr Scott, but because of her, I will not be returning to the Riverside clinic. As others have commented on here; she doesn't respond to emails or to messages left for her at reception. I tried to get in touch with her about a new prescription for a worsening infection and when I didn't hear back -- despite having left 3 messages with the receptionist -- I went to the clinic to see if I could catch her at the end of the day (5pm). She proceeded to yell at me (a sick patient), in the reception area in front of others, saying I should have gone to urgent care instead. I suppose I was under the false impression that one should be able to contact one's GP about urgent, but not life-threatening, health issues, especially when they were the ones to diagnose and write a prescription (that wasn't working...) for that very issue. A few minutes later she tried to walk it back and offer a feeble apology/excuse but suffice it to say the damage had been done. I draw the line at being yelled at (publicly) for seeking medical assistance from my doctor. (Separately, I had tried emailing her about something, months prior, and never got a response. I also waited for over an hour to see her on two separate visits, again, as others have noted below. I understand that doctors are busy, of course they are, but being straight-up non-communicative and/or unreachable with your patients is unacceptable.)

Dr Kotze is a very pleasant Dr when she sees you for a consultation, but that is where it stops. She doesn't respond to emails or notes written in her book at the surgery. Attached to her email is a note that she will take 48hrs to respond to an email and two weeks to fill out a specialist request! Is she really SO busy? I haven't had a reply to either an email or a note at the surgery. Desperately miss our REAL Drs Cornell & Dr Miller who gave us such outstanding personal care

Terrible, will never go here again. I took my wife to this practice for treatment and advice on COVID-related symptoms. However she was treated with little to no professionalism, and received no medical advice or prescriptions.

I think this place is like a roulette - never know what luck will you need with them to receive your services in a professional manner. I gave up!!! Doctor did examination ok, never called me back with test results as she promised. I called 7 times for 3 days and kept leaving messages and never received a call back. But the worst staff! The doctor should know how their staff treats their patients first of all. Their accounts lady is not cooperative and suspicious with the clients. She claimed my medical savings prematurely from my medical aid and pretended she was unable to reverse the claim until I said I am paying cash to her the minute she reverses their claim. She made me look as some kind of crook who would not pay for a medical visit!!! I explained to her multiple times that I did not want them to claim my medical aid savings so quickly because I need them for medication. She did not see me as a client at all. She was suspicious and kept repeating she is unable to reverse a claim. But then she said she re versed it twice because I said I am paying cash all with completely unapologetic tone! The clients who come to doctors rooms are suffering in pain and the last thing needed is to be treated like in pick and pay. If she kept me standing there with severe back pain without offering a seat for another 5 min while she was adamant she was right, I would have passed out on the floor.

I will never go to this practise again. I have been to this practise 4 times over the last two months and I have been charged a different amount every time. The last visit was R700. One of the most expensive 10 minutes I have had with a GP. Apparently because you are a private patient and medical aid does not cover, you pay more. I left feeling like I had no solution to my problem and completely helpless. The appointments are also never on time.

I just want to praise the staff at Riverside Cottage Clinic. I am in U.K. for an extended period of time due to caring for my mother and only get back to S.A. once every couple of years. I phone up and speak to the receptionist and make an appointment to see Dr, Stephen Cornell without any problem and see him even though I might not have been there for years! He is one of the most patient, genuine and informative G.P.'s it has been my pleasure to know and count him in very high esteem. I am so looking forward to seeing him in March 2020 after 5 years away. Thank you Stephen for your excellence as a doctor but more, a wonderful human being. Mary

Dr Steve Cornell has been our family GP for over 15 years, and one of the greatest supports we've had through various family ailments, crises and emergencies. We are heartbroken at the news of his retiring from General Practice in Cape Town, but excited to see him move onto his next big adventure! Steve, your calm demeanor, your sense of humour, your unbelievable memory of what what going on in our lives at any point in time, always made for the best and most valued support. Thank you for never rushing us out of your room, thank you for your time, your patience, your consideration, your understanding and support of our unique and messy family! Went to see Doctor Reddy today and she is SUCH an Amazing doctor. Takes her time to spend with her patient and listen to them as well,which is what I love from a doctor and she is so knowledgeable, kind and caring! Definitely recommend her to anyone!

If you don't mind an endless wait without any communication by a disinterested, cell phone gazing receptionist and a doctor who cannot keep to appointment times, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a modern, patient centred experience, then this won't tick the box. They put the WAIT into the waiting room!

On Saturday 24 Oct I was seen by Dr Kennedy, who told me to have some expensive blood tests done. The tests were done on Monday 30 Oct. Despite several phone calls and emails, I have not heard from Dr Kennedy or anyone else at Riverside Clinic 7 days after the tests were done. This is not the kind of service I expect - I only gave one star because it is the lowest the system accepts.

Very patient, honest, comforting, and her diagnosis is always 100% correct. Gives best treatment and her referrals are always the best. Always portraying a good face and that makes you as a patient to calm down and not be scared of the unknown. Keep it up Dr

I have been visiting their practice since 2016, their service is great with everyone willing to help you when needed. While all their doctors are caring and kind, the standout star for me is Dr Cornell who never fails to get his diagnosis right. He is also compassionate and willing to lend an ear. It is always a pleasure to meet him, with his jolly spirit and adventurous stories that make you want to come back. Thanks doc for your help, always.

What an amazing group of medical practitioners! I have been met with sympathy, given a wealth of medical information and had it explained to me in a professional and kind manner. From the admin staff to the doctors - I have never met such dedication to patients health and most importantly well-being. Thank you all so much.
