Booked a ticket but the bouncers don't care to hear a single word out of my mouth but allowed all 8 of my white mates to come inside, some who didn't even bother to book. Overall I would say go if you're white but not if your ethnic. Nice club for the supremecists. 👍

Great when the students have gone home! But usually crammed so tight in there with 18 year olds it's impossible to move! Bar sometimes 3 deep but they usually have lots serving. Prices used to be cheap in there, wasn't last week, unless they put prices up after midnight? It is free to get in though, even at 2am, so handy for last drink if there's not a massive queue! Seen some great live bands in there, but better in the week when it's not too crowded. Toilets are tiny too.

Rude security refusing entry to armed forces since there were "too many students". Such a shame nobody can enjoy probably quite fancy and fun venue thanks to the stalwart defenders at the door. Not recommended if you're a small group of normal sober people looking for a chilled bar and nice music. 🙄

We go here sometimes on a Friday after work. It's always busy with a band or a singer on stage which is nice. The atmosphere is nice and the bar staff are very friendly. The drinks are very reasonable so a couple of cocktails before a bar crawl. Only problem is that there isn't a lot of seating .

Love the atmosphere. If you are visiting Cardiff you must go to The Live Lounge. We will definitely come back

Cheap cocktails during happy hour (2 for one.. i can barely remember😅), live music most days of the week (this is often cheesey)..and friendly staff. The venue is small, with a smoking area and upstairs bar, the venue is popular with students and is busy most nights of the week (Probably busiest place to go on Christmas eve).

A decent place in the afternoon / early evening to grab a bite to eat and listen to live performances. In the night/early hours, it turns into a popular club. It can get very busy, and isn't that much fun if you're sober! I would give it try during both hours, but don't come for the clubbing if you're claustrophobic or afraid of close contact with others!

A very nice atmosphere, live music, great people, nice food, happy hour 2 4 1 cocktails till 9.30pm on a Friday. What else do you want?

Absolutely brilliant place, live music everyday from 12, we came here alot, nice atmosphere n singers were great. Never stayed out long enough to see the bands at night due to early work mornings but definitely not to be missed. This place is amazing only wish there was something like this in coventry. MASSIVE THUMBS UP from us.

Was here last Friday from 6pm. Great atmosphere and vibe, really nice and welcoming bar staff. Really good pint of Guinness. And of course the live music bands were really impressive. I really need to visit the live lounge more often!

I would definitely go to this bar again 🎶🎵💃 🎉 Track and trace & I.D (bank card was enough) before being let in then really busy inside. If your a people watcher then upstairs bar is great to see everything going on below & still having view of the band. I loved dancing to the live music, DJ during there break. They take card payment only upstairs, both card & cash at ground level.

Good live music venue, also plays music as per a normal club, amazing drinks selection - especially whisky! Probably the best selection of whisky in South Wales, in terms of number and variety. Very friendly staff

Love this place. Never seen so many different age groups in one place. Afternoon like an old peoples home, evening into the night like a youth club, this is not an insult, it's great to see people of all ages enjoying such a great venue

Great night out but watch your drinks. If you put it down, the glass colllectors will take it. They must be paid by the glass. I kid you not, but i was buying a drink at the bar and i hadn't even finished being served and they grabbed my glass. Ok with was Gin and ice, so looked like it was done, but come on. I had to chase him to get my drink back.

Good priced meals for city centre. Cocktails were actually more expensive than 90% of the meals, so we didn't get one (£9+ each). Meals did not skimp! Very big portions, was offered doggy bags too. Lovely service, great atmosphere, good singers!

Went in for the first time with my Daughter... didn't click at first why its called "The Live Lounge"... until I went in...and a guy was on stage singing... (apparently he's a well known Busker in Cardiff)... Great entertainment and the food was stunning...very friendly staff...was quiet when we got there...but have seen pics of when it's busy...think I will stick to the quiet times... Well worth the visit if you haven't been

So last Monday we arrived around 730pm to a really chilled vibe , great guy playing solo guitar. Had a few drinks ( me and wife in early 50s) then DJ started and we stated till 230. Great atmosphere, good value drinks, 100s of well behaved youngsters arrived around 10pm. Got to say a well done to the door staff, their patience was tested by some middle aged idiots, but nothing untoward and plenty of clear communication given on what would be tolerated etc. All in all a great place who can clearly put on a great night !

Brilliant had a great time last Wednesday on our anniversary. Everyone so friendly and generous.!! We were on our own but met so many lovely people. The music was great and they played a special song for us to dance to.. Good company both staff and other customers. Thank you 😊

Lots of fun and laughter was had in the hen night at Live Lounge, music was good! Happy hour without even realising was a nice surprise. Easy place to find, with drop off and pick up easy by the Hilton.

Can’t comment on food but absolutely love this place great atmosphere but 4 stars because it can get very expensive in there. If you go on the wrong night you’ll pay some pretty bad prices

The band was amazing and knew how to work the crowd. Staff was considerate, picking up glasses from the floor and keeping people from getting violent. Did have 2 offers to buy cocaine in the bathroom

wouldn’t let me in because I arrived at 2:12 and last entry was 2, I wasn’t drunk and asked nicely if they could just let me In as a one off and I would pay any price as all friends were inside for our works do, they were so rude telling me not to ask again and that it was my problem not theirs, such a power trip. I was then stood outside with a dead phone just waiting for one of my friends to come out, at this point I was a bit teary eyed because i was just super upset by it all, not nice to be a young girl having 50 year old men shout at you just for asking. I got impatient and tried to sneak into the cue through the barriers because I’d rather be told off than be an 18 year old on my own on the streets of cardiff at 2am. Several bouncers came and grabbed me pushing me out, had to wait another hour in the cold until I spotted a friend who helped me get home. I understand rules are rules but in this case It’s just ridiculous and an excuse for these bouncers to feel powerful and important.

Went in before the speedway GP as it does have great live acts all day. Beer prices were good and food was a reasonable value. Only thing was, I had fajitas which were quite bland but other OK. Good atmosphere and bar was full so the band got a great reception.

The service in here is fantastic. Bar staff recognised me (only had 1 drink prior) over a crowd to get me a swift one while the masses deliberate over cocktail choice. Really good, attentive, bar tending. Food is ok, not why you come here but if you just want a bite before some live music you can't go wrong. I'll Say It again, the service is amazing. If you want to feel looked after like a local and enjoy love music this is your spot. 100% my No1 spot in Cardiff now.

I came to Cardiff for a nostalgia trip from when I studied here in the 90s. I did that but my highlight of the long weekend I spent was the live lounge. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and top class musicians. I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and the doormen appreciated I was visually impaired and kept an eye on me, as did the rest of the staff. Can't wait to come back there again. Thank you Team Live Lounge for making my long weekend in Cardiff so special.

Gotta say one of the most pleaseant & enjoyable venues I've visited, Staff were friendly & helpful and smiled, decor was nice & relaxing - plenty of options / choice when it comes to drinks and food on offer, covid guidance in place & music made the whole experience enjoyable, I'll defiantly revisit very soon

Great Venue, nice setting shame about the security staff. We decided to go on a last minute trip to Cardiff, in fact the first time i've been out in Cardiff and decided to head to the live lounge. I wasn't drinking, as i had to drive back. One of the Door Staff decided to shout at one of my friends, and threaten her with ejection just because she had her hat on. I'm a Door Supervisor myself, working in a busy club in my local city, and theres no cost to being nice to people. You really need to train your Door Staff on how to treat customers with respect, and how to talk without threatening people.

Always nice to sit any afternoon of the week, as me and my partner do regularly... and enjoy live music for free... it is open to the early hours,, for the youngsters,, so a good place to visit, for any age,,

First time in this place last night. Great atmosphere with a few different artists singing. The age range up to 9pm is mostly 40+. After 9pm it is mostly 18+. So choose your time to visit.

A superb venue, food is very good plenty of live music from midday until late. Great friendly staff too. Discounted drink opportunities. Artists do a couple of hours each with like 20 minute breaks between them. The entire team are safety conscious and supportive.

I love the place but it would be nice to have Mr Brightside on less often and different nights, the music feels often the same all the time a bit more variety would be nice The drinks are great value for money, They have the widest variety of drinks than any other place I have been. Good atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. Only change is have different music nights

Went Sunday afternoon after a charity walk. Had a nice lunch and a few wines. Not too full in there, great live music as always..the acts are swapped after a certain amount of time. Great atmosphere, lovely afternoon out.

What a fun and lively place. Quick service at the bar, great prices and the music had us dancing all night.

A great bar in Cardiff. Live music from the morning onwards. Probably the cheapest cocktails you can get anywhere. The food is good and at a bargain price. One of my favorites pubs in Cardiff.

Really cool chill place great prices good menue. Live music is here all day everyday plus the first Sunday bandoake once a month. TV and beamer for sports. Upstairs is a lounge area. . Happy hours. The service is 100% friendly . Respect

I have to admit, I was quite surprised.. Was there on a Saturday afternoon after a Wales rugby game. It was packed. Really good band playing. The clientele were really friendly. Bar staff were great. Decent beers.
