Wish I could give it less to be honest. Ordered two meals. Firstly the Large chips, battered sausage and curry sauce. The chips were black and pretty cold, also despite paying for a "large" portion it we less than a handful (I would say the equivalent of a medium fries at MacDonald but twice the price :/). The second meal was the Cod Supper. I asked for the mushy peas in a separate pot (as I don't like them, and once I got home and opened up my food it was visable from the box and the chips that they had just scrapped it off the top. The chips were again black and cold. Also the Cod was mushy, liquid slop, the batter on it wasn't even cooked properly. Behind the counter there was a prescription packet as well as an empty bottle of Stella which I can only assume is why the staff member was so miserable/rude. I normally never write bad reviews but this is literally the worst chippy I've ever been too, just walk an extra few minutes and go somewhere else.

Awful staff. As others have said, the chips are really good but the staff are terrible.. No basic courtesy or manners. They seem to employ people that other establishments will not have. Bad. Update from 12/07/19 Worse..... The chips are now awful. Not sure what's happened but they have changed. As for the staff: they don't even offer salt and vinegar. The carton is closed and just shoved in front of you, with no thank you.

We popped in here to avoid a tea time meltdown with the kids on a late Saturday afternoon. It was quiet when we arrived and ordered fish and chips and sausage a chips for the kids to eat in. The fish was freshly cooked and the batter was light and crispy. The staff were so friendly and kept my youngest quiet by pulling faces in amongst serving other people. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Note there isn’t a loo which one of our girls needed so headed over to the capital shopping centre while the fish was cooked. We’d come here again.

The chips tasted very greasy. My friend ordered the corned beef pie supper only to be told there was no such pie. They explained that she could have a different pie which was ok but she never received the mushy peas which should have been there too. Mine was no bread roll for a chip buttie so I had to have just the chips with a few fish bites. The only upside was the fish bites was lovely with nice white fish ...

Oh my god .. visited this chippy yesterday and was dumbfounded and shocked to witness such appalling behaviour. My friend had recommended this chip shop - I didn’t get a chance to sample any food - why may you ask ?? Well on my arrival there was a man (someone said he was the manager) shouting and swearing at a poor lady who worked there ( blonde lady with spectacles on) . The shop was packed with customers . The poor lady looked so embarrassed but never retaliated - Well I can tell you I would have threw the chips in his face !!! I had to walk out in disgust - he is very lucky that I never intervened - all I can say is I hope Karma pays him a visit !!!!

Great chips from here and really tasty vinegar! :) This chip shop is cash only unfortunately, however there are multiple cash machines near. Prices are on par with other chip shops in the area. There is outside seating and tables but it could really do with some umbrellas to shelter customers from the sun in summer as its very hot to sit there and eat

This place does, in my opinion, the best fish and chips in Cardiff. Slightly above average price due to its central location, but worth every penny. You can pay with cash or card. They sell alcoholic beverages if one takes your fancy. There's seating inside as well as outside. I believe it to be wheelchair accessible. I also believe it's open fairly late.

The chips are smelly, curry is bland, sausages look like Richmond sausages and the chicken and curry is well over priced. Microwave chicken (6 torn off small chunks) and they couldn't be arsed to wrap it either. Absolutely terrible. The only reason this place is open is because it's in town, which is why it's really overpriced. I paid for my meal expecting it to be worth the money but it was shocking. The only reason it's still open is because it's by a lot of bars and they sell booze. Staff are like robots, would not recommend to anyone, will never go here again.

I will start this review off with the chips are nice and the battered products are fine. However this is the only food distro at this end of town and as such charges a premium. The quantity of food you are supplied is less than others in town and you are not treated with much respect at the counter. This is a order and get out of the way kind of establishment. Good if in a hurry, if you can stand the drunk walk to the other end of town you will do better.

Service was quick. The staff were friendly but the food wasn't great. The chips were cold, the cheese obviously hadn't melted and tasted a bit off. The curry sauce hadn't been heated for long enough so was still quite thick. The sausage was cold, the fish cake was pretty much the only warm thing. As I am only visiting Cardiff, I won't be going again. Wouldn't recommend to be honest.

I come here rather a lot whilst I visit and the food is absolutely spectacular and the service is fast. However my one complaint is the servers forgetting my drinks always and then when I tell them they just go "Oh you didn't ask for one" until I show them the receipt. I do recommend this place though as the sausage is the most beautiful thing ever.

👍👍 Great Jamaican food, we had a great time! I highly recommend the bottomless brunch, our waitress, Lucy, was very attentive and we had a great chat about nights out in Cardiff! The bar staff's cocktails were beautiful, too!
