This place is very cool, interactive stations across two floors. We could have spent hours here. It was busy but we all got a chance to go on each station. The kids LOVED the hurricane simulator, all the kids were running around screaming! Some of the areas were out of order, but 90% were working. There is a lift for prams and wheelchairs. The gift shop was sweet and not overpriced. Many wooden and scientific items for sale which was nice to see. Can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed. There are many and varied things to explore/experience. A few not working but the rest is well-kept and very good value for kids' learning. We could do with a family discount but as price is a bit high but still well worth every penny whatsoever. Kids can learn different scientific phenomenon while actually playing with them. You can easily spend 2-3 hours if not more. The cafe is very nice. Parking is not a problem since public car park is just across the road.

All 3 kids loved the planetarium, they're 7 and 9. My husband was gutted we had to leave. The Ocean talk was awesome and really got my girl interested in science. Will say get there for 10am as the car park over the road was empty!

We visited on a Friday during half term and had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. It was fairly busy but we weren't waiting around to engage with the activities and experiments too long. The general exhibition area was clean and tidy. The baby change cubicle was a little fragrant and in need of a fresh few bags in the nappy bins. Suitable for all ages. We visited with our 5 year old and 1 year old. And even the adults enjoyed their afternoon out! 3 hours is the perfect amount of time to spend. Our 5 year old didn't complain about being bored once!! 😂 We used the discount code to park at the nearby Pierhead Q Park. Short walk to Techniquest but manageable.

There is so much to do and just too little time! We thoroughly enjoyed the manual puzzles but lots of different types of exhibitions to keep everyone occupied.

Good interactive science museum which keeps children entertained with activities. There is a gift shop and toilets on site. There is no food outlets in the building although there is a picnic area within the building where you can eat your own packed lunch. There is no actual car park there, but there is a pay and display across the road.

Techniquest Science Discovery Centre in Cardiff Bay is a delight to visit, lots of experiments and science orientated displays to keep visitors of all ages interested and entertained. I would say that you need to take some youngsters with you to get the absolute most out of the experience, I borrowed some for my second visit and I had much more fun watching them. Easy to find and loads of parking, well worth my 5 star rating!

Many a Welsh kid will remember Techniquest from their schools days. A Cardiff Bay Landmark. Well it’s recently had a revamp and refit. New modern entrance, New cafe, new exhibits and more. The kids enjoyed the day there. Plenty of things to learn and try out. Some old exhibits remain which is nice to see and a throwback to my youth. A good day for the kids young and old.

We visited last weekend with 2 excited 7 year olds. They had a fantastic time learning and exploring. They especially liked the simulation of a hurricane, slide and the giant piano. We didn't use the cafe services so are unable to comment on those. Overall a great day out with fun for all ages. My Fiancé had just as much fun as the kids.

Museum is not that big but does have lots of great interactive elements Great place for children, well designed and staff are friendly and helpful. The QR code tag system is great too, you can use it to keep a record of all the interactions you have done and access it when you go home.

Great place for all ages. Mostly for bigger kids who can read etc. But even for a 3 year old toddler there were loads to do and explore. Special place for toddlers to play pretend play on the top floor. Toilets on both floors. It was very interesting even for adults.

First time visiting and went with a 16-month old. Even though lots of the activities weren't that suited to his age (knew this before going) he had a whale of a time trying various things out. Seems expensive at first when you buy tickets but when you get inside and see the range of things on offer it's great value. Very impressed and will definitely be back when kiddo is older!

Great place to bring young children who love to learn. Lots of different stations spread out over two large floors to keep them occupied for a few hours, particularly on a wet day. It's improved alot from when I visited approx 2yrs ago although still disappointed to see that a few stations weren't working. Lovely cafe there to serving drinks, cakes, baguettes etc.

Lovely place to visit my 8, 5 and 2 year old were entertained for the 3 hours allotted. There were lots of new exhibits since we had last been, all done really nicely. Mine loved the hurricane, the submarine controller and the human body exhibits. Despite it being fully booked it was not too crowded, just the right number of people as any more would make it difficult to find free exhibits.

Good venue but definitely for more 5-12 year old than lower or higher. It'd smaller than what I remember it to be and I was disappointed in about 4 or 5 machines/games that were broken. Its in a good area for a break and you can return after lunch should you wish which is a good option. Parking is paid over the road.

Great place to spend a couple of hours. There's plenty to do to keep everyone entertained. There's sometimes a small wait to do the different activities but that's expected and didn't bother us!

Great day out at Techniquest. It’s been a few years since we last visited and what a transformation it’s had with loads of extras for both the kids and adults. A good half a day but you have the option of wearing your wrist band, leave the venue and come back during the day. Also lovely helpful staff! Thank you

Me and my friends went to the planetarium for the show, it was awesome! The person running it (pretty sure they were called Tom) was outstanding and so informative and knowledgeable. After the class they spoke to us more and explained everything we wanted to know more about. They were so great with the kids in the show too!! Thanks for making our experience so amazing Tom! You definitely need a raise, and we will come back sometime in the future.

Great day out, staff very friendly. The only disappointment there were a number of displays / experiments out of service and a number of them which were ‘broke’ - attached an example of a microscope of a tooth, you can’t see inside because the plastic has been scratched so bad. Could do with some regular maintenance.

Great day lots of really interesting things for children and adults to engage with. Great staff! Highly recommend - we attend a home Ed day and booked on for the additional show. My daughter loved it

An excellent museum that makes science fun with its interactive exhibits. We really enjoyed it here and we all learnt something from our visit. Particular favourites were the wind tunnel, the water play and the earthquake simulator. I also like the theremin, an electronic musical instrument that’s played in the theme tune for Midsomer Murders.

Techniquest has always been a marvel of science and physics but displaying it in a way which is interactive, practical and fun. Loads of different interactive exhibitions can be found throughout the centre displaying many different scientific phenomena's. Very good for kids and well worth a visit during the summer holidays.

Loads of interesting activities kept my son entertained for hours. He was 2 1/2 at the time. He will probably get even more out of it as he gets older. Love the science based approach. It's very educational but makes learning fun. He really loved how everything is so hands on. It really stimulated his curiosity.

I remember visiting as a child, and could not wait to take my own children...we visited as a family of four, 2 adults and boys age 7 and 5 on a Tuesday in half term. We paid £2 per person extra to visit the planetarium too. Brilliant value day out. We stayed 5 hours. The boys were fascinated from the moment we stepped through the door. There were some exhibits that were closed for repair or refurbishment but still plenty to keep us busy. The staff were helpful and approachable. The planetarium was fun but I just couldn't hear the lady talking for large parts of it. There's a picnic area so that you can take your own food as we did but there's also a great looking coffee shop on site too.

Loads of interactive displays, lots of information. The ants are epic.. can get very busy on Bank Holidays, reasonably priced parking across the road, close to the millennium centre and Red Dragon centre.

Loads of stuff to do for the whole family. I spent over three hours there with my three kids ages 7-12 and they loved it. A little pricey perhaps if you were only going for a short stay but for me it was totally worth it.

Mind engaging/stimulating experience. We decided to include this place as an activity during our camping trip and I'm glad we did. Our group included an age range of 0-37 and we were all very pleasantly surprised by the stations. Definitely something for everyone. Only cons were not going in the morning session and the place was crowded. Having said that we managed to stop and operate most 'quests' on show. I'd definitely go back.

Great place for children over the age of 5 so they can understand what they are looking at. Everything explained on the panels. You need around 2 h to see everything and play with the experiments. Worth the visit.

Great place to got for both adults and children! Lots of activities and so much to learn spaced over a couple of floors. Due to the children being so young we didn't get to experience it all but looking forward to going back more over the years as they start to want to learn more! Really enjoyed the time we spent there. Lots of thought has gone into organising the space to keep covid in mind and lots of sanitiser available. Easy to find, and parking right up the road!

Edit: October 2020 Techniquest has gone through a major revamp with new fun things for the kids to do, new layouts, new cafe and a outside revamp on the look of the place. It's brought into modern times and looks a lot better. Plenty of modern science experiments for the kids. ............ loved this place when i was a kid and love it now when i take my son. Price is decent. They gove you a wristband so you can leave and come back when you want within that day. They have a small cafe there, selling the usual sandwhiches, coffee etc. Fairly decent. Staff are very helpful.

Very interesting science exhibits and activities to try out, unfortunately it seems like they don't get new stuff in very often so you basically only need to visit once a year. Would definitely say the robotic hand that responds to your own hands movement is my favourite.

Amzing place to well spend time for adults and kids. Lot's of fun mixed with knowledge and experiments. Take a time (took us around 3,5h) as all sections are so cool that you want spend some time at each table. Worth every penny .

Always a fun day out for the family. I have 2 kids (8 and 11) and they love it. Educational, interactive and at a reasonable price. Plenty to do and the staff are friendly. Great if you're looking for something interesting to do with your children or grandchildren.

Definitely worth a trip from London for me and my tech and science loving 5 year old boy.. this is the first attraction in almost 5 countries where he enjoyed thoroughly and spent more than 2 hours doing activities, normally he is bored by 30 minutes.. park in mermaid Quay as its nearer rather than Q park and definitely go for the Fire Show which was performed excellently by the young lady and well worth the extra £2. You will not be disappointed if your kids enjoy even a little bit of science and experiments etc

  • 2/5 Lewis H. 2 years ago on Google
Don't bother paying the amount of money they charge. Ide say almost Half the equipment wasn't working. This was to the point, that one activity you could see a wire has been previously been taped up. Instead of repairing it, they've just left it broken.. If it was cheaper I could justify going, won't be revisiting techniquest anytime soon.

  • 5/5 Subah A. 2 years ago on Google
Fantastic day out for the kids and adults! Took a y and 3 year old, had a three hour slot and stayed the full 3 hours. Loads of experiments and stuff to keep the kids busy, we adults had a good time too. Would definitely recommend.

  • 5/5 Emiemmy39 2 years ago on Google
We had an excellent afternoon with our 3 year old. I've never seen her have so much fun at a museum, it was non stop fun for her for 3 hours, we were all exhausted! She may not have understood the science behind the exhibits but each activity was so intriguing it kept her and us adults entertained. There was a cafe which seemed nice although we didn't have time to go there as we spent too long having fun inside. We parked in the Q-Park Cardiff Bay car park, there is a discount code on the Techniquest website although it's a bit of a walk (especially with a toddler).
