Great bar serving excellent cocktails + small plates. Emphasis on natural ingredients, locally sourced food, sustainability. Presentation is lovely. Enjoyed the tabla of local cheeses, and beef “nigiri”. Well balanced and uniquely flavored drinks. Chic ambiance. I went on a weeknight which was chill with no wait and we got a table and food. On the weekends I saw long lines to get in

If you’re able to get past the long wait in line (they do not take reservations) and are loud music on every level, this place can be worth the experience. Probably not surprising but if your hoping to have “dinner talk” with others in your group, you might want to skip this location. Otherwise the ambience, the food and the staff are great reasons to try this place out. What I think stands out for this establishment is the fact that their menu is vegetarian/vegan. My party was predominantly meat eaters, but no one felt like the food was lacking due to the absence of meat. Presentation and flavors were on point. We ended up getting seated on the roof top level, and we’re initially worried about the heat, but it turned out to be very comfortable and breezy.

We visited for drinks and food as soon as they opened at 6pm. Whilst I recommend the drinks (the mandarino cocktail was great), the food didn't hit the mark. The queso consteno frito was overly rich, and the corn tortillas lacked flavor, so I'd suggest focusing on the drinks.

My new favorite bar! There is a line out the door beginning around 9pm on any night of the week, so get there early if you want a smooth entry. Each floor has a different cocktail and food menu. I ordered one cocktail and one food item on each floor, which make me feel like I was barhopping 😊. The first floor is centered around the bar with lounge, style tables around it. I had beef sushi, and a bartender's choice mezcal based cocktail here. The 2nd floor overlooked the first floor bar, and was designed as more of a sit down dinner. Here, I tried the pulpo- which was delicious, and a gin based cocktail in a coupe glass. The 3rd floor was upstairs on the terrace and they were playing afro house style music. It was more of a club-like vibe but I didnt love the ambiance (slightly stuck-up). Overall, I highly recommend it and will be back!

Oh wow if you like drinks you MUST visit Alquimico! They've been rated as top 50 bars in the world for their own signature drinks and please, try them out! I had Oaxaca old fashioned and a few others and they were great! It has low lights and old school colonial bar feeling. Every floor has its own drink menu, including the amazing rooftop. Perfect place if you're looking for drinks and want to try different experiences.

Great bar/rooftop! Nice esthetic and vibes. No hookah but music is good. Second time we went they didn’t let my friend in with shorts but he had shorts on the prior visit (so that’s crazy to me).

We ultimately had a good time visiting all three levels of Alquimico but it did start off a little rough when they told my friend he could not come in with a sleeveless shirt. The shirt was expensive and looked really stylish so it seemed a bit silly to us but, nonetheless, we went to a souvenir shop next door and bought a cheap t-shirt to meet their dress requirements. (This and the poor service on the third floor were the main reason to lower to 4). One other item of note, women were allowed in with a really random of assortment of tops with no problem so the dress code only apparently applies to men. We went in and on the first floor we had the table of cheese along with a couple of drinks. The cheese assortment was delicious and the drinks were tasty as well. There was great reggaeton music playing. We asked to be transferred up to the second floor and were served by Esteban who was professional as well as friendly with us. We had a couple more apps here with drinks and asked the hostess to be transferred up to the third floor rooftop. The hostess on the second floor either didn’t know how to transfer our ticket or decided not to do it so we had to pay our bill and start over when we moved to the third floor. The third floor was super active with louder music and was much warmer given it is outside. More of a dance vibe but the service was lacking. The waitress seemed indifferent to her job up there which was unfortunate given everyone else had done a great job up to that point. We had one drink and she never asked if we wanted another one so we decided to take off as it was starting to look like a thunderstorm was approaching. Definitely a cool place to check out but be prepared for the dress code.

I’m not a huge fan of bars, but I LOVE this place. The drinks are tasty and affordable. The bar tenders put so much effort into their craft despite how busy it gets. It is entertaining to watch the bar tenders from the open upper floor levels- it truly looks like art! This place feels classy yet relaxed, with a range of people in attendance from middle aged couples on dates to younger groups of friends celebrating a birthday. The rooftop has a great vibe too!

Great music, marvelous food, good service. Three different atmospheres and environments for all visitors: lounge, tropical, something in the middle of those two. Cocktails are a must have in this place. If you go alone, be aware of people around you and keep your drink in your hands all the time (just saying!).

The ambient and the crew was great, this is an amazing spot in Cartagena for unique drinks, plus the whole Latino vive was spectacular I can recommend this bar

Had a great time at this hip social spot. Everyone was happy and having a fantastic time. It was packed. I went on a Saturday night and it was going off. The drinks were crafty and well made. I had a vegan taco and it was delicious. I had a hard time believing it had no meat in it. If you’re looking for a hip party vibe, this is your place.

Fav bar in Cartagena! Atmosphere was sexy, food and drinks were equally amazing. Def head up to the rooftop to check out some of the best and most fun bartenders - we made friends with Andrés, he was the best! Go say hi! ❤️

This place is a must if you want to live the full Cartagena experience. Amazing music, incredible cocktails and the best energy and atmosphere. Make a reservation in the rooftop and have an awesome night. If you’re traveling alone, definitely a good place to meet people and have a great time.

Amazing bar with three floors, each with a different menu. You'll find interesting twists to classic cocktails with local ingredients.

The experience was awesome. We ordered 4 different entrees. All of them were delicious, but the best one was the octopus. The staff was very professional and friendly. Bathroom was very clean. But, that place is very pricy. One of the most expensive places I've ever been.

Loved the decor and concept! The guanabanazo cocktail was totally delicious. We enjoyed the fun atmosphere on the rooftop even though the music was very loud and made it hard to hear.

Very hip cocktail bar. They don’t take reservations so if you don’t want to wait, get there before 10pm. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartenders make the cocktails, which were all fantastic (would have been double the price in NYC!). I also liked the DJ, who played some hits and house music. Recommend to those looking for an upscale bar experience.

Excellent craft cocktails, down to the clarity of the ice cube. This place has a more American style (the food options, the complimentary water, Spanish/English menu, little things), but with local food and drinks. Expensive, but worth it. Great experience

The most amazing experience, the drinks are in another level!! The only problem es they don't accept reservations and you need to make a line to go in, once there try to pick a good table, first floor authoring cocktails, second classics, third rooftop!! They accept cards and cash!! Enjoy

Cool place to get drinks. I did not find the drinks fascinating, however, what stood out the most were the amazing bartenders. Everyone working at this bar is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. FYI its a bit of a party/club atmosphere, at least during the weekends.

Great drinks! Something I have never tried! Was super interesting! I spend like $100 on just drinks…it was so worth it! Oh and the dessert sampler! A must

A really cool place to have dinner, drinks, vibrant music, good food with vegan options. The food is delicious with good vegan and vegetarian options. Hated the deseert though. There was just one platter with 4 deaserts and didn’t really like any of them - ice popsicle was one of them. Highly recommend it for the vibe!

Alquimico is definitely the place to go! No Cover charge , the BEST drinks in Cartagena (they’re Top 50 in da world) . I read people talking about their dress code , and WELL if you’re going to a nice place dress nice don’t you think!? The music is GREAT , there’s a wait for the rooftop but they’re on top of it, and communicated us upon entry so we waited around 30 mins but we were a level lower drinking and eating with friends and we didn’t mind. It was by far the best night we had in Cartagena, and I would be back there immediately a heartbeat!

We had some of the best cocktails we've ever had here! We got there right at opening, and got 2 seats at the bar. It was so fun to watch the bartenders make these intricate and unique cocktails. A perk of sitting at the bar is also that the bartenders see easily when you're empty and ready for another. Would recommend everyone try a cocktail or mocktail here!

Absolutely fantastic experience as someone who loves cocktails. Sat at the 1st floor bar and never really opened the menu. I told my bartender, Aniela, what types of cocktails and flavors I like and she took over. She guided me through multiple cocktails, all of which were fantastic and all very different. She got feedback after each one, asking what was enjoyable about it and what I was looking for next. This bar truly earns its reputation as a fantastic cocktail bar.

Went on a weeknight and there was no wait. The bartender was so nice and really took her time with us. I loved my drink! I’d def go again to explore the other floors.

I loved the experience here. Very Colombian. I visited the first floor for a drink and third floor. A unique space I found to be well run, with good communication between the staff. 4 cocktails cost me 180 000. 00 COP The only negative I can say is they made me pour out my water upon entrance. At each table they provided water, however, a communication or invatory/utility error caused me to head out after about 1.5 hour because I could not get more. At a bar like this I normally would not expect to bring in a backpack and water, however, this is Colombia and it is hot. Even at night.

Cute trendy spot, came early for a cocktail and appetizer. They will check your bags upon entry... I was annoyed that they took my bottle of water. La Mantilla seems to be a popular drink, as I ordered it and so did the tables next to me. It was delish. I also ordere the cassava dumplings, they were ok. The waiter who served me was very sweet and welcoming. I'd go back if I was back in town.

Really can't say that this bar is in top 50 in the world. Cocktails were good, but nothing special. They let in anyone, doesn't matter how you dress, so really walkabout. No standing culture so you need to find yourself a table or comfortable place to stand. The staff didn't care at all. Rooftop was pretty good, but music was hit and miss. Loads of foreigners as this place is in the top of recommended places.

It’s purported to be one of the top 50 bars in South America, so we came here on a Saturday evening to check it out. There was a line to get in but no cover. We got drinks at the bar on the first level, and then went upstairs to the second one. That’s where food is also served. We had to wait a little bit to go up to the third level, but I would highly recommend it, as that’s where the outdoor rooftop area is located. The DJ played a mix of English and Spanish music. There were seated and standing tables. There was a restroom on the 3rd and well as 1st level. There is wifi that you need to ask the staff for the password.

Easy to see how this place has garnered all of the well-deserved recognition over the years. The space is interesting, and offers a nice birds eye view of the bar downstairs for those sitting on the second floor. The drinks are equally creative and well constructed, with perfect balance and presentation. Go early at opening to avoid longer wait times, and do yourself an extra favor by exploring the different options on each of the three floors!

Great multi tiered place. Rooftop area is usually really packed and theirs a line to get in. They have an upstairs bar that’s nice. Great place to chat. The upper roof has a DJ/music. Cool spot or meet people and grab drinks

A really great vibe to this place overall. We just stopped in off of a recommendation for the food but there was a DJ and the drinks were well made. The food scene downstairs turn into a little dance floor after a certain time so that was a nice surprise. Not to packed with the three floors available for people to spread out. Everything was phenomenal from food, music, drinks, and staff. Will be back again every time we return to Centro.

Brilliant bar!! Requested off menu and they gave me what I wanted and still with a little twist of their own. The menu is inspired by different local drinks/ ingredients of other areas in colombia, wonderful touch. Love their sister bar the Clumsies in Athens so this was a treat. ❤️

OMG it was so good and well worth the wait. The maracuyá cocktail was one of the best I’ve had. The black tea foam had an outstanding texture and sweetness that complemented the maracuyá infused rum very well. The drink was good from first to last sip. The ginger drink was spicy with spicy salt if you want to wake up. Our waitress with glasses and tattoos was so friendly. The music, lighting and vibes were great. Everything was perfect. No wonder there’s always a line. Live DJ. Don’t get the food. It’s no different from bad fried bar food and not nearly the same artisan level as the drinks.

Really liked the vibe of this place. Came here on my first night in Colombia which was on a Friday and it was a pretty good crowd. I sat and ate some sort of sliced steak sandwich and had some cocktails which were very good. The music and the ambiance were great as well. My only disappointment was by the time I finished with my food the rooftop was "full". Rather than wait I left around I don't know 11-1130 but when I left there was a long line to get in. So I guess get there earlier if you want to have time to go upstairs on the weekends as it gets packed.

🫤 Nice place with good (very loud) music but I wouldn't reccomend going here if you are a foreigner. First off you need to pay 10k while local people don't pay anything. Then at the bar you get ripped of if you pay by card and then get asked for a tip afterwards. They don't let you see the amount they...
