This spot is phenomenal! We listened to the other reviews and made the trek over. Boy did it not disappoint! They welcomed us with a shot and chocolate, followed by the best food we've had in Colombia thus far. In addition to great food and drinks, the staff was so welcoming and fun. Hecmary was a great attentive serve with wonderful recommendations. We'll definitely be back before our trip is over!

Had the opportunity to eat at The Rum Box a few times on this last trip. The food, service and atmosphere was stellar. Our waitress Jessi, was very patient with us as we used our translator to order our food and converse with her. She has a wonderful spirit to serve her customers. The rum was outstanding. Prior to you receiving your food, a shot of rum is brought to your table along with some chocolate as a chaser. We went multiple times in which we ordered a number of items from the menu as the prices and value of the food were perfect. Be sure to try to the Sea Bass with Creole Onion sauce. You won’t be disappointed.

I feel like they are the most underrated place for dinner in Cartagena! The staff are so friendly and helpful. I can’t remember the name of our server but her name started with an O and she was awesome! The food was amazing so were the drinks and the live music! Had an absolutely incredible tasting with Jesus last night! We were only expecting rum and chocolates, but the tasting also included amazing tapas. The tapas came from their own restaurant and we will definitely go there as well. It was some of the best seasoned food we had ever tasted. Jesus was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience one we will never forget. Yes the tasting was pricey, but worth every penny! Enjoyed both dinner and private rum tasting at the Rum Box. Coco did an amazing job ensuring that my dinner was gluten free. The hospitality was amazing with a complimentary sample of rum/chocolate pairing and the appetizers and entree were both amazing!! The best experience was the private Rum tasting with Jesus in English. He is extremely personable and knowledgeable about each of the eight rums being shared. The rum and chocolate tasting truly was one of my favorite parts of visiting Cartagena. Highly recommend as you will enjoy the rum and learn a lot about the process of making rum in Colombia from Jesus. And of course I can’t wait to drink the bottles I brought home that Jesus helped me select.

Awesome place and a must visit when in Cartagena. We came here to eat with our kid based on the good reviews. This place is more than a restaurant or bar. It’s an experience. They start you out with a tasting of rum paired with a piece of chocolate. Then we got some delicious grilled peppers on the house. Food was fantastic. It’s a restaurant tradition when I kid visits the restaurant that they get to go to the bar and make a mocktail with the bartender. At the end everyone clapped. For dessert you also get chocolate as a compliment of the house. The staff is amazingly friendly and the food is one of the best in Cartagena packed with flavor. Shout out to Andres, Elias and Dayan. Loved this place! A reservation isn't required at all but recommended, since they will do stuff like put your name on a cute sign on the table. It's was great having the rum and chocolates to start, the drinks are great, and the food was amazing. I tried the Lomo Caribeno and my girlfriend ordered the Filete en Salsa Maracuya. The second time we went I tired the encrusted Salmon and that was equally as good. There was another set of chocolates at the end and some dessert ones available for purchase as well. The service was amazing too, our first visit Emily was our server and the second time was Jessi, both were on point with everything and super sweet. I definitely will come back again next time I'm in Cartegena!

Hello! From USA. Jesús was WONDERFUL! This is the best rum tasting we’ve ever had and we’ve been to quite a few. It was unlike anything we’ve experienced and for $50, it was 5 star quality. Jesús explained all the different types of rums, and gave us little appetizers and chocolates in between which was a NECESSITY because you can get drunk very quickly. I wish I could give more stars. EVERYONE needs to book El Arsenal when they visit Cartegena. Thank you for an amazing time!

This place is a must if you are a rum lover. As soon as you are seated, you are served a sample of an 8 year old rum and a dark chocolate stick. After each sip of rum, bite into some chocolate. The flavours together are magnificent!! They also serve garlic roasted peppers (not hot) that are salted, so so delicious. And so far, this is all on the house. I ordered a drink called a cream dream and that it was. They certainly did not skimp on the rum. The bits and bites on the menu are definitely worth trying as you work through your libations. The staff is super friendly and warm. It was a pleasurable experience.

5 stars all the way. Best dinner of our trip, and the rum and chocolate tastes before and after the meal were a really nice touch. The cocktails weren’t as balanced as we’d have liked, but we forgot all about that when the fish and Creole sauce and fish in mushroom-prawn sauce hit the table. Yum!

Just amazing experience. Reservation is reccomended as its a popular place (reservation system works perfect). Upon arrival there is a table with your name waitingg for you. Service is wonderful, professional, cheerful. English on a good level if you do not feel like speaking spanish. Food is amazing - delicious. We stumbled across this restaurant and luckily they had a table available. We had the Passion Fruit Ceviche, the Carimañolas de Queso and the Salmon. I tried 3 different rum drinks including the Coconut Cream Dream (which is exactly that) and the passion rum! The staff were fun and helpful and made the experience even better! I was able to sit at the bar since I was dining solo but would suggest making a reservation.

This is definitely a restaurant worth checking out if you’re in the area. I had the meatball starter and sea bass main and both were fantastic!! Finished everything and they even threw in a free rum tasting, free fried peppers with my food, and a free chocolate for dessert. Service was great and although I wasn’t drinking the cocktails looked brilliant! (I’ll have to come back). It’s definitely a bit expensive for Colombia (close to European prices) but you get what you pay for and it’s worth it. The limonada tasted to strong but that was the only issue. Highly recommend

My sister and I did a rum tasting with Adrian and it was the best experience ever!  During the tasting, we tried a variety of rums paired with small bites and/or chocolate.  Adrian was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had.  He made the rum tasting fun and it's an experience we will never forget!  We also had dinner reservations immediately after and we were lucky to have Adrian serving us.  The experience was just as exceptional as the rum tasting was!  The food was phenomenal and flavorful and Adrian provided excellent dinner recommendations and always had a smile on his face.  Most importantly, he was very personable and wanted to make sure we were enjoying our dining experience.   Thank you to the chef for delicious food and thank you Adrian for making our evening a great one!

Dropped in for drinks after doing the Rum Box rum and chocolate tasting across the road, which I highly recommend! The Rum Rouge cocktail is a must try.
