Plaza de Los Coches is a charming place to visit during the day with beautiful scenery and horse-drawn carriages. The perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. At night it becomes a hot spot for a pretty active night life which can be super fun. However, it's important to exercise alot of caution during the night as tourists and visitors are always oftenly targeted for robbery. Visitors should be wary of pickpockets and chain snatchers. Street vendors have been known to change the price of drinks mid-transaction and work in cahoots with the criminals. It's important to keep a close eye on your belongings and stay alert at all times.

Very nice area and district. However too many annoying pushy barkers (guessing shops will have a way better business, if theyll calm down).

protip: don't let girls walk up to you and touch you... they are pickpockets... they took my wallet which had the equivalent of my pocket change... $30 bucks... had over $200 and credit cards in my other pockets... so joke was on them. I know who did it, but they had ditched my wallet and pocketed the cash by the time I caught up to them.

I gave five stars because of the incredible history and the abundance of knowledge. But in my opinion, Cartagena in general is not prepared to receive tourists when it comes to the enormous challenging issues with healthy food, Bocagrande beaches, local transportation, electric power and infrastructure. I urge all tourists NOT to eat on the street but in the restaurants. I have and continue to travel around the world but actually I live for at least a year on the places I write about. The prices are NOT commensurate with the quality and services provided. They charge you en Dollars but the quality and service is in pesos, despite of the cheap prices. In my opinion Cartagena in it's current condition is not a go, but this is my personal opinion only. If you come to Cartagena enjoy it's history and ensure you stay at Baru "island" Rosario islands but not at Bocagrande. Do NOT bathe at Bocagrande beaches.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful, colonial and bustling plaza, the latter especially when the sun goes down and the heat gives a bit of respite. In it was the main entrance to the old city and the old slave market. In it there are numerous bars where you can stop for a drink, a shop and typical stands of sweets and carriages for those who want to walk around the city like that.

This is a pretty cool place. There are coachman to be found here. The horse and carriage rides are available late into the night. There are also street vendors at night and occasional street performers nearby.

By day Plaza de Los Coches buzzes with tourist, and the people going about their work day, later in late night, the atmosphere changes - more partiers start to show, the smell if sweet perfume fills the air and clickity sound of high heels and stilletos, and the plaza is abuzz with elegantly dressed women and night life atmosphere

Most nights there isn't much to do here. On weekends this area was exciting but on weekdays there wasn't enough to keep me around. There are a handful of bars that are worth the time but they are hard to find.

Simple plaza with individual stands. It wasn't busy when I went. The statue of the founder of Cartagena, Pedro, has a statue there. One interesting fact I learned on a tour is that he was able to establish the city with India Catalina, an indigenous woman who was kidnapped as a child by the Spanish colonizers. She was forcibly taught Spanish language and religion, and then served as a translator, ultimately used in her people's destruction. The tour guide noted her similarities with the story of Pocahontas.

Fabulous place even in the middle of the protests while the tear gas grenades are being fired into the peaceful crowd !

The statue of the city's founder, Pedro de Heredia, can be found in the middle of the plaza. We often see the Palenqueras selling tropical fruit and homemade sweets around the plaza.

This is a forced stop when you are walking inside the walled City of Cartagena de Indias. At daytime it has many places down the arches that sell local sweets which are worth tasting. At night, it has another different face with many bars and clubs open. Don't be surprised if at night time, around 9 pm or so, you see many many girls that work in the sex business. It a local costume that comes from the Colonial times.

(Translated by Google) A cultural and entertainment center full of attractions. Very good location. Great atmosphere around the clock. The disadvantage of this place as well as the whole city is the local police intrusive abusing their rights. Carriages with ponies and local artists make an amazing atmosphere. (Original) Centrum kulturalne i rozrywkowe mnóstwo atrakcji. Bardzo dobra lokalizacja. Świetny klimat przez całą dobę. Wadą tego miejsca jak zarówno całego miasta jest lokalna Policja natrętną nadużywającą swoich praw. Niesamowity klimat robią bryczki z konikami i lokalni artyści.

(Translated by Google) Nice place at the entrance to the old town, formerly the enclave market! Today it is full of life, horse-drawn carriages ... and tourists. The light at the end of the day and the shadows at night make it photogenic. (Original) Sympathique place à l’entrée de la vielle ville, anciennement marché des enclaves! (Translated by Google) Square cars on the clock tower, although it is an emblematic place in the city of Cartagena, is not a pleasant place to be at night becomes a meeting place for prostitution; there are places that are worth as bars, hotels, and restaurants are of excellent quality and end up being victims of the lack of control of the district administration, as they have been idly and have failed to control the problem prostitution in the city of Cartagena.
