This
is
a
very
low
budget
one
star
hotel.
I
gave
it
two
stars
for
effort.
I
think
that
if
you
are
on
a
VERY
tight
budget,
this
hotel
works
ok.
My
friend
booked
this
hotel
though
an
agency
and
we
paid
just
US$1000
which
included
3
nights
lodging,
all
of
our
meals,
transfers,
flights,
a
city
tour
and
a
day
at
Baru
beach
(you
can
see
my
review
of
Baru
Beach
on
Google)...but
of
course
you
get
what
you
pay
for.
I
considered
renting
a
nicer
place,
but
I
didn't
want
to
make
my
friend
feel
bad,
so
we
stuck
it
out
for
the
3
nights.
The
price
online
is
400,000
copa
per
night
(about
US$100),
I
think
at
that
price,
you
could
find
something
a
lot
better.
The
rooms
were
old
and
rusty,
our
ac
venta
had
masking
tape
holding
it
up.
The
fridge
was
rusty,
I
didn't
even
bother
plugging
it
in.
When
I
asked
how
to
use
the
safe
I
was
told
they
no
longer
work.
My
only
consolation
was
that
the
bathroom
was
clean
enough
to
use,
the
sheets
were
clean,
and
the
mattress
was
very
comfortable.
I
just
shook
everything
out
and
made
it
work.
PROS:
A/C
worked
in
the
rooms
They
have
2
pools.
You
can
opt
for
food
included.
It's
a
buffet,
and
the
food
isn't
bad.
Nice
mattress.
The
shower
had
hot
water.
The
staff
was
friendly.
It
was
quiet.
CONS:
no
A/c
in
the
common
areas,
one
of
the
elevators,
or
the
dining
hall.
It's
90
degrees
in
Cartagena.
The
heat
is
oppressive.
The
staff
have
to
work
in
this
heat
all
day.
The
lining
of
the
pool
is
bumpy
and
loose.
The
lawn
chairs
are
about
100
years
old.
I
wondered
if
the
pool
was
even
chlorinated.
We
saw
a
total
of
4
roaches.
One
of
them
was
on
the
food
station.
After
that
I
couldn't
eat
at
the
hotel.
I
asked
for
milk
for
my
coffee
during
dinner
the
first
night
and
was
told
that
they
only
offer
milk
in
the
am.
They
also
had
deserts
with
peanuts,
and
people
were
using
the
same
tongs
for
all
of
the
deserts,
causing
cross
contamination.
My
Colombian
friend
said
there's
not
as
many
people
in
Colombia
with
peanut
allergies.
The
room
overlooked
the
beach,
but
the
beach
was
not
usable
as
there
was
construction
going
on.
They
are
moving
the
beach
towards
the
ocean
to
make
the
street
wider.
I
wouldn't
use
the
public
beach
there
any
way.
There
was
trash
everywhere.
There
are
safes
in
the
rooms,
but
they
no
longer
work.
Parts
of
the
common
areas
and
elevators
smelled
like
roach
spray.
They
only
give
you
one
towel
per
person.
I
had
to
clean
up
the
bathroom
floor
with
a
towel
because
the
half
glass
wall
was
useless
for
containing
water.
When
I
switched
out
the
towels,
I
asked
for
an
extra
one
and
was
told
no,
only
one
towel
per
person.
There
wasn't
any
hot
water
at
the
bathroom
sink.
The
location
was
quiet
at
night
and
didn't
feel
unsafe,
but
it
is
run
down.
There
were
lots
of
broken
down
and
vacant
buildings
and
trash
everywhere.
There's
a
nice
McDonald's
with
outdoor
seating
on
the
corner
and
a
really
nice
restaurant
across
the
street
called
crepes
and
waffles.
However,
other
than
that,
I
didn't
see
anything
pleasing
until
we
visited
the
city
center/city
wall
on
our
last
night.
