Zero stars would be appropriate. Where to start..? First I get a room that looks like it last saw a bucket of paint 30 years ago and the shower is falling through the wall. And it did hardly work at all. Worse though, was that the "balcony door" was made of thin plywood and all the noise from the party street was heard "clear as day" throughout the night. I managed to get 2 hours of sleep in total. The staff is snotty, uninterested, rude and treats you like garbage. I was to do some work with the the son of s friend, and my new room (yeah, they unwillingly gave me a slightly less noisy room) had a desk, so perfect. Well... For him to come into my room I had to pay 50k COP extra, which is really ridiculous in itself. I later saw on the door, that the cost was actually 30k COP, and when telling the snotty ladies about it they acted, well, snotty and said that they were to change the signs about that. This hotel is a total scam and I strongly suggest you book ANYTHING else.

Good location in the centre, but the noise (club, street and people shouting) is absolutely unacceptable. The rooms are so badly isolated that you hear everything! Furthermore the rooms are so small and without any windows. You feel like sleeping in the basement of a club. Personal staff doesn’t seem to be interested in guests issues. Only positive aspects: it is cheap and clean plus central location.

Very small room but friendly staff and awesome cappuccino 24/7 in the common area. We were also able to put a few groceries in the fridge which was handy. Convenient location. The ceiling in the bathroom is open air so you can hear everything. Not a huge deal but it’s on one of the busier streets and there’s a nightclub nearby pumping music from about midnight to 2am so use your earplugs. Air conditioning was quiet and worked great. Paid $185,000 pesos per night for 5 nights.

Stayed here for about 5 days. The good, the room gets cleaned and towels are replaced daily, they have an espresso machine which makes amazing coffee. The location is great, it’s about 15 minutes walk from the wall and about 10 minutes walk to the old city. Plenty of restaurants all around, a bakery around the corner is amazing in the morning, with fresh pastries and freshly squished juices. the third floor has quite a view from the lobby’s windows. The bad, as with any Colombian showers they are cold, do not get a room on a second floor directly across the stairs, that room is right above restaurant that blasts live music until 2 am. So I gave it a four because of loud music.

One star is a generous rating. Be warned and read through the comments on the “four star” reviews. This is a ZERO star hotel. -two of the four walls and the ceiling had mold on them -the bed and pillows were so thin and old, I don’t know how anyone could sleep on them -the hotel is noisy and the walls are very thin -the front desk woman noticed we were there, waited a few minutes, and then got up to check us in. She was not friendly, and seemed annoyed we had disturbed her. -be aware there is zero English spoken by any staff

Great location, low prices, friendly and helpful staff. They let us check out late for no extra cost. Nothing fancy. The bed was very comfortable!

BED BUGS! The worst hotel ever! We found bed bugs in our room and left one day earlier than expected. The manager refused to give us a refund for the day we didn't stay in the room

This is a fantastic hotel in the old city. The room was huge and the location is perfect. Staff is super friendly and the room included toiletries and cleaning service daily. The private was really nice, and having air conditioning is a must. 24 hour desk is great and the attendant was super helpful. Only negative is if you want to go to bed before 10:30pm it would be tough, because the restaurant next door plays music until 10:30 nightly and it is really loud. We got back after that most nights so it was perfect for what we needed at a great price.

If you enjoy staying with ants in a hotel that seems an hostel where customers are loud and there is not warm water... you can see from the video that I am not joking. Service were quite good except for a lady: Eliana who is sweet, but very strict, more than the others: "no we don't provide that service" "no this is not allowed here" "no your friend is dressed in a way that I cannot let her in" "no we do not provide washing service"... The others made nonstress, no problem, she does. Consider that most of the staff do not speak english. The lady who clean the place were nice but from 7.45 until 8.30 every morning when they arrive it is a chaos. They wake you up with "buenas" laughing and speaking loud in front of the thin door of your room. So, if during the night some customers did party, you definitely will not sleep. Check video and pictures. The only good thing of this place is the price. P.S. I had to checkout 3 hours later, they made me pay full price....

Not sure how they get over an 8 review score on Booking? Should be lower for sure,. especially seeing some of the more recent reviews here. Excellent location in the heart of the walled city, and nice staff keen to help. Unfortunately that's about it. Be careful if you take an Uber there as there is a hotel with the exact same name out of town - I think they should communicate this in advance. The photos were just not accurate. The room I booked was very different to what I got. No hot water in the bathrooms (perhaps to be expected). The room was small and very badly laid out, so I kept bumping and bruising my legs when walking around. In 4 nights, the room was not made up once despite frequently requesting it with the door tag. I seemed to be bitten by bugs every time I entered my room. The sheet you sleep with is really thin and the Aircon is difficult to control. There is no way that three people can stay there with suitcases. The room photos were flattering for sure. I did not sleep well and would not stay again.

What we liked about this hotel is the location & thankfully we only stayed for 2 nights. Very basic accommodations with ac, free coffee, ice machine & big fridge in the common area. Our room was on the 3rd floor & the ac water dripping on the floor. Some of the towels were old, more like rags. There’s no blanket, only a sheet on every bed. The building was renovated & equipped with cheap materials. The walls & doors are thin, there were banging sounds throughout the day & night from other rooms. Drawer knobs were broken & my kids got spider bites. The staff were okay & let us leave the luggage after check out.

Super noisy, claustrofobic rooms, doesn't look clean and no hot water!

Don't stay here if you want to sleep. My God. Street noise prevailed until dawn, and then morning noise took over. Loud music next door. Drunks inside coming home. Drunks outside yelling. Incessant honking. I went to bed at midnight, and that is just when it started getting loud. I was in the back room, not over the street. I need to take a vacation from my vacation today at another hotel to sleep. Overpriced. No Wifi in my room. Free coffee in the morning was good.

Good location BUT : *WE FOUND BEADBUGS ON THE BEDS! We could see them walking everywhere on our bodies ! I also had bites everywhere! * IT IS VERY VERY VERY NOISY! Omg I ve never heard so much noise ! I never have problem with my sleep, even if there is noise around, but in this hotel i was waking up every 30 mins because of the noise! We couldnt sleep at all! *There is no hot water (just an information ) We booked the room for 3 nights but we stayed there only for the first 2 .Then we decided to book another hotel and we left from this awful room! We told them about the bedbugs and we asked for our money back (even for 1 night) but they didnt care.

Excellent price/performance ratio for Family room (4 beds for 200.000) comparing with other hotels we've seen in Cartagena! Freshly built or redecorated, clean and neat. Good AC and clean bathroom (with extraction fan!). Hard beds, as almost everywhere in Colombia.

Great location in the heart of the old city. Hotel is accessible for tour buses, unlike some places in smaller streets or streets that close between 5pm & 5am. Perfectly comfortable and available to buy bottle water in the premises. Just worth noting it's a no frills place so if you're looking for a balcony and a view this isn't for you. It's 7,000 pesos to replace a lost key and I got charged for a stain on the sheets which I don't think would have required dry cleaning but the charge was small and my Spanish isn't up to arguing.

Not bad. Rooms are small and bathrooms are exceptionally small. We has super tiny ants but they cleaned the rooms everyday with bleach. I think this is normal in the area since it's coastal and incredibly hot. Staff was so so friendly but accommodating.

Great stay, the receptionist and all of the staff were just lovely. It was quite basic but clean and comfortable. The location is very good, but unfortunately it might get very loud during the night due to music played literally everywhere.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the hotel. our room was really small, the bathroom was tiny and the room didn't even have a window. there was mould everywhere on the ceiling (especially in the bathroom) and we couldn't sleep because the door didn't shut properly and we heard every word anyone outside said (+ noise from the street on the other side) the only reason I gave 2 stars and not one was the location.
