We
visited
Matsu
on
our
long
drive
up
to
SF
for
lunch.
Given
the
4.5
stars,
I
had
thought
we
had
discovered
a
local
gem
given
the
pics
and
the
size
of
the
joint.
Unfortunately,
it
was
a
pretty
big
disappointment
and
would've
been
2
stars
had
it
not
been
for
the
cheaper
prices
(although
not
too
cheap)
and
the
friendly
server.
I
won't
comment
on
the
entire
lineup
of
sushis
we
ordered
but
overall,
it
sums
up
to
(1)
trying
to
garnish
sushi
unnecessarily
and
without
purpose
and
(2)
no
passion
in
the
way
the
ingredients
were
prepared.
Depending
on
the
type
of
fish
you
order,
the
sushi
comes
soggy
in
lime
juice
or
some
other
weird
mixture
of
soy
sauce.
Some
have
mayo(?)
and
chili
paste
on
it?
What
is
up
with
that?
And
jalapenos
on
top
of
sushi?
Are
you
kidding
me?
Perhaps
the
saving
grace
was
the
eel
but
that
came
out
cold...
And
what
were
those
scallops
been
garnished
with?
Even
worse,
Now
let's
talk
about
the
ingredients
preparation.
Cold
eels,
rubbery
tamago,
tough
udon
noodles,
uncooked
tempura...
I
can
go
on
and
on.
At
least
the
fish
seemed
to
be
on
the
fresher
side
but
definitely
not
something
that
can
salvage
the
masquerade
of
sauces
and
lack
of
passion
and
care
in
preparation.
Oh,
ikura
wasn't
so
fresh
and
was
a
bit
watery.
I
have
no
idea
where
this
4.5
star
reviews
are
coming
from.
Won't
be
visiting
again.
