Famous place, well reviewed. Just behind the more crowded touristy area. The cocktails were very good (Pina Colada & Margarita 5*). The food is good but unfortunately nothing too special. It’s the little details which makes the difference and the bloke sleeping behind the counter with his mouth wide open didn’t added to the atmosphere unfortunately. After one week in Havana I have downgraded this review to 3* as I’m now able to compare with other dining experience. Definitely overpriced for the small portions of food they serve.

We were quite disappointed by this restaurant which didn't live up to the reviews. The food was OK but nothing more, and the plain rice and beans that was served with everything didn't really complement the tuna we ordered very well. We asked for medium-rare tuna but it came well done. The service didn't particularly feel very welcoming. We had far superior food and service at a lower price point elsewhere in Havana. Maybe we were just unlucky, but looking at how the couple next to us were struggling to cut through overcooked lobster then I don't think we were alone.

Where to begin…So we got there and first problem is that our server told us that some dishes were not available. Then we asked for roupa vieja and she said that it would take about 1 hour because of the sauce, same with the barbecue chicken, so we asked another dish and she said that one would be faster which was a lie as we were served after 45 min. Then she didn’t say that the sides were not included, we had to ask her. The food is okay, nothing special tbh, but the worst part was that they served daiquiris in different glasses (which is okay) however they didn’t ask us about it and you can see in the photo that the sizes are very different from each glass and when asked about it she said they were pratically the same, which is not true at all. They were also a bit weird towards us always, taking our plates away while we were still eating. In the end at least it was not expensive, about 12 euros per person (i dont remember the exchange rate but its higher than 200).

We loved the mixed seafood grill and also the (fried) pork chunks. Both wonderful with the dark rice and beans. Many other great options on menu, but some take a long time to prepare. For example BBQ chicken takes a long time. They care about quality and flavour. The best overall food experience we had in Havana. Very pleasant service and atmosphere.

This is by far the BEST food we had in Havana, and believe me we’ve tried almost all the “fine dine” experiences here during our trip. Make yourself a favour and don’t go to the tourist traps like La Guarida as you will only end up having less than mediocre food. You can easily see how much attention & care chef is giving to each plate in Habana 61. Everything we tried (shrimp, lamb, ceviche etc.) tasted amazing and was so fresh. Servers & all the staff were super friendly and communicated well in English. If you are looking for delicious food in Havana with cozy atmosphere, don’t look beyond Habana 61 and you will not disappoint. Keep up the good work guys!

All was not perfect, as the lobster was slightly over cooked but full of flavour. The staff were pleasant and helpful, their English far superior to my Spanish so guided us through the menu and choices. Reservations are a must, and they only take local reservations - meaning no website bookings, so either use your local contact or book when you first arrive, it is worth it though.

Forget what you think about curry, this chef did something so original and out of left field that you would do yourself a disservice if you didn't try it. Simply one of the most creative desserts i've ever had, it's a fantastic burst of flavours. The drinks are also skillfully prepared and everything on their entire menu is reasonably priced verging on inexpensive. Do yourself a flavour and visit this restaurant!

Came here as it was reccomended by our airbnb host; we were lucky to get a table early evening as it was rammed with tourists and they were turning away more all evening (make of that what you will). We had ceviche, salad and bread to start and all were excellent. For mains we had a pork solomillio in a lime cream sauce which was good although the meat was a little overcooked. A seafood stew was also solid. Tried the chocolate mousse for dessert but had a weird texture and was sickly sweet; it was kindly taken off the bill as we didn't eat it. Coffees were really bitter but after we mentioned this they remade them and they were a fair bit better. Overall the food is pretty good but the service was brilliant.
