More than lives up to the charm in its name. The rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast every morning was lovely and filling, and the staff go above and beyond to accommodate. From them we received excellent recommendations for dinner and places to window shop- the Colonial Charm is in a highly walkable location, minutes from downtown. They keep everything spotless, and will help you out with anything they can. On our last morning, we were running late and missed breakfast - they very sweetly provided us with a little to-go baggie of bagels and fresh fruit for our long drive home. The honest and heartfelt service made our trip.

We arrived in the evening and Shelley was so well dressed waiting at the porch. She welcomed us with such friendly sweet smile. Not only her very accommodating nature put us at ease, she also recommended places of interest and dinner places to go in Charlottetown. This Victorian style inn, no doubt looks old, but the settings are pleasant. It's located conveniently walking distance around the place. It was the breakfast that caught us by surprise! It's amazingly prepared with love for her guests! We were all sold!!! Shelley with her helper patiently served the tables with care making sure we have a good breakfast to start the day. Very highly recommended should you land in Charlottetown.

Although everyone was friendly, the check in process was rushed. The double bed in our room was terrible. Not only did the old bedframe squeak and groan all night (to the point we woke up constantly anytime one of us moved) but the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable. We both had a terrible sleep. All of the lamps in the room were unplugged so we had to move side tables around to plug things in. One of the side tables was dirty and there were cobwebs in the corners. Breakfast the next morning wasn't close to as good as previous reviews suggested it would be. There was no clear indication about what was being offered for breakfast until my husband asked as the girl who greeted us was about to walk away. She simply said breakfast was an "English muffin." My husband explained he would like his meal without bacon or ham (if that was included) and was told they had sausage. The sausage turned out to be what appeared to be a hot dog or smokie, cut length wise and (we assume) heated on the stove and a lightly buttered English muffin. A couple of strawberries and some grapes on the plate as garnish. The English muffins were fine but the hot dog/sausages were terrible. Neither of us ate more than a bite or 2. The dining experience was uncomfortable as we were the only ones in the dining area at the time and all we could hear was a loud conversation between staff coming from the kitchen. No one checked to see if we enjoyed our meal and we eventually went to our room to pack up. I paid the bill and wasn't asked once about our experience. The location was good - close to downtown amenities and tourist spots and I liked the historic charm of the building. Staff was friendly. The woman who showed us to our rooms told us the home and business was recently under new ownership so perhaps this was the reason for the difference between previous, positive reviews and our negative experience. We won't be returning.

In decades of travel I've never stayed at a more welcoming and restful place than the Colonial Charm Inn. I can't explain it except to say Charlottetown is delightful, PEI is beautiful, and Shelly is welcoming and thoughtful, It's the little things, like fresh home baked blueberry muffins available in the dining room all day, her stories (she grew up in the neighborhood), perfect activity and restaurant recommendations, and an old house with a delightful porch and balcony. I haven't felt that relaxed in years and look forward to my return.

We had a lovely stay at Colonial Charm Inn! Shelley is lovely and wants your stay to be perfect, helps plan your day, makes reservation etc. Reg cooks the delicious breakfasts each morning and just an awesom fellow. Then there is Melanie, sweet lady we had some great chats & is she is all about your comfort. We loved our stay at this location. You can walk everywhere. ( lots of parking on site) So much to do on PEI.

Warm and welcoming are two of the words that best describe the Colonial Charm. The rooms are charmingly decorated, it's a short walk to historic Downtown and the boardwalk as well! The staff are incredibly friendly and offer genuine Island hospitality!

We had this place booked for September 25th, which unfortunately was experiencing the second half of Hurricane Fiona. Knowing that there can be damages (such as no hydro and water), we tried multiple times on both the 24th and 25th reaching out to this location to try to confirm their functioning status. We wanted to have this confirmed before deciding to make a long drive to Charlottetown. However, they could not be reached through telephone or e-mail (completely no response). We decided the unknown was too great and Charlottetown was closer to the core of the hurricane than where we were, we decided to cancel the stay, but we could not without any communication from Colonial Charm Inn. So in the end, they still charged us. To this day (1 full week later), they still have not replied to any of our e-mails and still cannot be reached through telephone. This is in contrast to multiple other venues, many of which were in Cape Breton and in the eye of the storm, which independently and proactively reached out to us to discuss our upcoming stay.

Very cute bed and breakfast within walking distance of downtown Charlottetown. Hosts were absolutely lovely and the included breakfast was great! The location of our room resulted in a bit of noise, especially as people were heading down for breakfast. But for the price, location, and hospitality I can't complain!

Very charming old inn, nice friendly people, bathroom is very small for a large person. Had to sit sideways on the toilet. Very small shower, hard time moving around in the shower stall. And the suit of armor outside our door is a little creapy

Had a lovely stay. Host was accommodating with late check in due to flight delay. House was old, but has character and an excellent location, I would stay here again if I ever return to PEI.

Very nice and accommodating service. Rooms did the job for a three night stay. A bathroom might require already some refreshment.

The people running this place are so kind. Breakfast was yummy and the Inn is right out of a picture book. Great place to stay in PEI!
