Been hearing about this place for a while and finally went yesterday. The food was excellent- it was flavorful, prepared properly, hot and plated well. I had the soul rebel and my friend had the Marley's magic. Curries were both packed with flavor and rich, the banana mango chutney was perfectly sweet to cut through and the salmon was cooked a perfect medium-rare. Salads were simple but well done with fresh spring mix and delicious dressings. Enjoyed the outdoor seating during the beautiful weather yesterday! Good vibes too, service was decent but tapered off as it got busy. Haven't been overly impressed with the food in Asheville so far but this restaurant hit all the points for me and I'm pretty picky as I've been a chef for 15+ years. Highly recommend and will be adding to my regular rotation.

This was a culinary experience from start to end! Our server Thomas H. was incredibly attentive and kind. We had the Live to Give appetizer and the Backyard Bowl & Soul Rebel for our entrees. Absolutely delicious! The layers of flavor and thought behind the dishes was perfect. We also enjoyed the Ginger Beer and Abita Root Beer. Highly recommend.

Amazing customer service. Affordable. Pleasant atmosphere. Intoxicating food smells. Waiting on my food I already know how incredible everything is going to be. Feel comfortable ordering for 5+ people because everything will be correct, proper, and scrumptious down to the tee. If you’re wanting to try something new - if you want your taste buds to tingle, go to NINE MILE!

Came into town for a mommy get away and stumbled upon this gem. At first our experience w/ the host wasn’t as pleasant as it could be, but our server Justin made us forget about it in every way. Let’s relish in the beauty of having our server Justin. What a cool cool man. Like he should be the host, the server, the boss and whole 9. Such a great and welcoming vibe and energy coming from him. Couldn’t thank him enough for his due diligence in making us comfortable and allowing a space for us to be welcomed. Couldn’t rant and rave more if I wanted to, I’m sure I’d run out of characters. The food we were surprisingly impressed with. It was hot and flavorful. Granted there were some minor tweaks to make it perfect, but damn delicious none the less!

Wifey and I stopped by for an adult libations. She had an excellent Proa Cava Brut sparkling wine from Spain and I had a local Frenchbroad Pilsner that was excellent as well. Looking forward to returning for dinner soon.

Very eclectic restaurant. The food was fantastic. And just so you know, my three stars for Service was only because I had to eat at the bar. I just do not like it. Other than that this restaurant is fantastic

So so vegan friendly!! What did I get?
I got the vegan version of Nine Mile. This came with tofu instead of chicken. I was able to select my spicy level for it and I selected medium which I thought was really spicy! The tofu was a little on the cold side for me and the waitress said it was cause it was cook separately... and being busy.. (I don't think this should be an excuse for cold tofu though). The rice was really good, very soft and fluffy, not sure what it was. The sauce for the salad was also very tasty, I got the mango one. Overall it was good, just a little cold....

Environment
Nice cozy location which is their flagship location. Parking can be limited... all street parking. There are a couple of tables outside and quite a number of seating inside.

Niceness of the staff
The staff was very nice, gave a lot of advice on whats good and all. Very very nice

Dollar
It was a nice restaurant and the serving size was huge!

Yes?
Despite the tofu being a little cold, I would definitely return! I like the extensive vegan options

The ingredients used in the food are top notch. It's not often you see wild-caught anything on the menus anymore. Sat outside, and it was lovely.

Our first time trying Caribbean style food and it was amazing. We had Live and Give as an appetizer (basket of tortilla chips served with queso, daily hummus, and tomato mango chipotle salsa). I had the Back-A-Yard Bowl and my wife had Cool Runnings. The salad was great and fresh tasting and main course was a good portion and tasty!

First timer. Grabbed a seat at the bar before they completely filled up. Ordered the curry soup special and the nacho dish. Really liked my server. Food hit the spot and felt like a pretty good price compared to many restaurants in the area. I love spicy food, and the medium hot sauce is actually nicely hot.

Ok, who knew one could find decent Caribbean style cuisine in the Carolina Mountains? Well, not only does Nine Mile provide but they simply 'Bring IT!' They add their own flare and touch to the traditional. Everything is fresh and appears to be sourced locally. Atmosphere is wonderful and service is spot on...

My new favorite! Absolutely delicious dining in Asheville. We chose to dine outside and the weather was perfect. Ordered Pinot Grigio with the Nolan. My salad had the mango vinaigrette dressing that was to die for. My date got the Cool Runnings and their salad had the jalapeño lime cilantro dressing. Top notch service and food. Highly recommend!

A must eat in Asheville! The food, service, and atmosphere was incredible. Justin was a great waiter from start to finish. All entrees come with bread and salad (which was delicious!). I honestly would make a trip back just to have this food again. So so good!

We started the meal off with the soup of the day which was a squash Thai curry. It was really good. Then we moved on to the salads with the jalapeño cilantro dressing (highly recommend). The main dish for me was a jerk chicken over linguine. I felt this dish was a little disappointing but still good. I was expecting a little more traditional jerk. Overall everyone loved their meal. Only complaint is that reservations are not accepted.

Absolutely delicious! Such great flavor, the mango salsa was excellent! Literally will dream of the Soul Rebel - hope to dine here again in the future. Amazing and highly recommend if you want an memorable meal. Inside was packed and sat outside but getting roasted in the NC was worth every single bite.

GREAT place. Heard good things, The first of the evening was the wait...80 minutes for a party of 6. I will happily state that was the worst of the evening, all better after. The food was excellent. Had meshach bowl and was savory and creamy. And the pumpkin ginger carrot soup was to die for. 😋

Absolutely incredible restaurant! We loved it so much that we ended up going back again. We first ate at the Montford Ave. location and then ate at the Haywood Road location. Staff is incredible, food is excellent, and the environment is amazing. Definitely try the Live and Give appetizer - it comes with chips, Gouda Queso, Weekly Flavored Hummus, and Salsa of your choice! We enjoyed the Mount Zion and The Nolan for our entrees and both of them were fabulous. You don’t want to miss this local restaurant!

Loved this place. Found it by accident 10+ years ago and it is still fantastic. Staff is super nice and the food is great with good portions. They get a Rare 5 star from me. 👍🏾

Great food with a huge menu. I ended up going for the ahi tuna dish, I cannot remember what it was called but it had a mango salsa and curry sauce. The curry sauce was fantastic! I wasn’t completely blown away by the tuna itself— it tasted a bit too fishy and needed seasoning, but with the curry sauce it was good. My boyfriend got the Nine Mile pasta which was also delicious- we ended up switching dishes but were both pleased. The salad was also bomb! I usually don’t eat salad but the cilantro lime dressing was 10/10.

This is a very unique eatery in the Montfort area of Asheville. While we dined many years ago we were most impressed with meals and service. It has a bit if a Jamaican vibe with a funky decor. The food is awesome. I had the Island of the Sea with shrimp, crab meat and diced clams plus delicious squash & zucchini over pasta with a white wine Alfredo sauce. My husband had the tantalizing The Nolan with pan seared scallops, shrimp, and an awesome Alfredo sauce with creamy coconut sriracha sauce that was o flavorful. Each entree comes with a tangy salad and Natty Bread. Absolutely most flavorful meals

My favorite out of all the locations! I love the Marleys Magic and my bf loves the Cool Runnings. Thomas and Bastian are my favorite servers, they already know what we want and give amazing service! The food is always delicious here so get a spot when you can because they get busy quickly ❤️

The food here was AMAZING! Definitely recommend the live & give appetizer soul rebel which the server recommended to us. The banana chutney was to die for and the garlic tahini salad dressing was so flavorful and delicious. Would come back in a heartbeat!!

Loved food, ordered 2 entrees and they were amazing, full of flavors, only feedback that I have was tofu and chicken was very chewy so did not like that, Pastas were amazing.

Everyone we asked recommended this place and it was good however, i would like to note that this place serves food that is more americanized so dont come here thinking you would get anything authentic tasting. both thought that the curry was slightly too watery and the linguine was slightly undone to our liking. Overall the dished tasted good and fullfill our needs but don’t expect to be wowed or anything. Highly highly recommend the jalapeño lime cilantro dressing

First time trying Caribbean food and I’m so glad I came across Nine Mile on a trip to Asheville. I got the Back-A-Yard Bowl with Beyond Meat vegan brats and sweet tea. The meal was rich in both taste and flavor. Absolutely loved it. The garlic bread was dairy-free, too, and a delightful surprise! Don’t miss up the opportunity to dine at Nine Mile!

Incredible. One of THE best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. The service was prompt, courteous, and always present without being overbearing. All that's lovely, but it's the food!!!! EVERY bite and morsel of every dish we had was just over-the-top tasty. So much flavor without being overpowering. I really can't speak highly enough. And the prices were reasonable... Even moreso given the quality of the food. We had an appetizer, side salads, bread, main courses, and a beer each for just $60. If you're in Asheville do yourself a favor and get some of this food.

First time visiting and had a great experience. The food is excellent and made to order. Enjoyed the atmosphere. So happy the salad is not iceberg lettuce!! The dressing was so delicious...had to take some home.

We had a good experience at 9 Mile in Asheville. We arrived before 6pm on a weeknight and there was already a wait to be seated inside so this place is popular spot with the locals. (and apparently with us non-locals too.) They can make just about anything on the menu with tofu so that's a plus for vegetarians. I had the "Nine Mile" nade with tofu mild and thought it was a tasty dish, not too spicy (They ask you to specify the heat.) The Natty Bread it came with...so the term "Natty bread" sounds like it was going to be something cool or more unique than it was. It's basically garlic bread with some different spices than you would typically have if getting it at an Italian restaurant. It was fine, but not particularly the exotic unique Caribbean bread fantasy I was hoping for. The salad my dish was served with was really fresh and enjoyable. The greens were fresh and the vegetables were crispy. I really liked the "His Majesty’s" (Sesame Garlic Tahini) dressing it came with. My wife liked it too though she had asked for the salad to be lightly dressed and it came pretty saturated. She finished the whole thing nonetheless. She also enjoyed her "Kingston 12", a tasty dish with shrimp. It's nice to have a place with so many vegetarian possibilities. We'd definitely come back.

Wait was very long but shorter then they suggested. Waited 45min and was told it will be an hour. Service was good and food was really good and flavorful. It is the kind of food that has all kinds of components that just work great together. Not recommend for kids due to the complexity of the food. Worth the wait. Tip: you can wait at the bar and grab a drink and apps while you wait.
