It's a bomb - that's basically the definition of a good meal - fried Barramundi fish was amazing, goes perfectly well with the mango salad, my 200 baht side dish portion was huge. Pork bone soup was so good, soft meat, amazing taste. Pork leg was also good. So, discover this local gem to feel rejuvenated and totally satisfied. I would rate it higher, if I could. A must visit. All ingredients are top quality, fresh, cooked to perfection. Don't judge the book by its cover - the dishes are restaurant quality. Menu in English. Chef Keng is not a grandma as was mentioned in a previous comment, it's a handsome man with a mustache 😉

Traditional Thai food! Lots of locals and you can feel the real Thai experience! And the food is delicious.. you have to write your order in the pieces of paper they give you and then take it to the lady taking the orders… they also give you complimentary soup! Delicious! I would recommend it!

I ate here for lunch and then returned the next day to grab two takeaway lunches (ahead of a bus ride to the border with Laos). Each day I had the fried rice with crispy pork, and it was absolutely delicious. My partner went for a mixed veg fried rice (both times) and equally loved it. Both dishes came to a total of 120 Baht - not the cheapest but by no means expensive and incredibly good value for money for the portion size. There was a ton of other meals I'd have been delighted to try but ran out of time.

Oh man!! Such amazing food! The place is very simple and hidden on a small street but the food was fantastic. Simple makes perfection sometimes. We ate so much that we had to cancel our other plans and go back to the hotel to lay down. The food was very inexpensive (around 60 baht). The people were great. They don't speak a lot of English but they speak enough to get you everything the way you want it. We were in northern Thailand for 15 days and this is the place we liked the most. We went to fancy restaurants and many street food vendors, but this one hit different. If you are looking for a nicer place with fancy decor, this is definitely not the place. But if you want local food with home made taste, this is the place to go.

This Thai a la carte restaurant is truly the best in town. The food is remarkably delicious, and the prices are incredibly affordable. Due to its immense popularity, it can get quite crowded during lunch hours, resulting in a wait time. I recommend calling ahead to place your food order or consider visiting for dinner instead. The extensive food menu offers a wide variety of options, ensuring that you can enjoy a different dish every day without getting bored. Personally, my favorite menu item is the Roasted Crispy Pork with Chili and Salt.

I’ve only one word to say: FANTASTIC! this might be one of the best dishes I had in Thailand (creamy omelette with crab meat). And it was definitely the best omelette I had in my life! Chapeau to Chef Keng

Absolutely fantastic noodles. Tried the pad se-ew and pad kee-mao, among the best Ive tried on my trip to Thailand. The noodles have proper wok-hay.

Perfect restaurant for cheap local food, fits perfectly with backpacker budget. Meals are ranged from around 40-70 Baht, and I highly recommend the BBQ Red Pork (50), Beef in Black Pepper Sauce (70) and the Chicken Satay Skewers (40). Great place to eat local food and so delicious - we came several times.

I had the pleasure of eating at Khun Yay by Chef Keng on my recent visit to the area. The restaurant offers some of the tastiest and most reasonably priced Thai food I have ever had. The ingredients are all fresh and expertly prepared. The menu features traditional Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, and Kai Kaaw. The restaurant also offers a variety of special dishes. I particularly enjoyed their Bang Mank, a Burmese specialty. Other dishes included Stir Fry Chicken, Fried Rice and Mango Sticky Rice. All of these dishes were beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. The service was friendly, helpful and very attentive. The staff was more than happy to answer all of my questions about the dishes on the menu and offer suggestions. All in all, I am very pleased with my experience of eating at Khun Yay by Chef Keng. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine at an affordable price.

Some of the best Thai food we've had in Thailand!! Big portions, small prices, fast and friendly service. Definitely try the Pad Krapow, the fried rice and the chicken cashew nut!

Good honest comfort food at a very very affordable price that gives you a smile inside 😁. Having been here three times now and as recently as tonight,I like to add that the menu is not as extensive as others and there is no beer here which is a shame really. Being tucked away from the main road, it appears to attract a more local customer base rather than tourists which in my books is a plus. The food is consistently good and it is in a nice quiet garden setting.
